EExplore the world with JosephI had a pleasant stay at City Rise Hotel Miri during my visit to Miri. The hotel offers a comfortable and clean environment, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. The rooms are well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with the essential amenities needed for a relaxing stay.
One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its convenient location, with easy access to restaurants, shopping areas, and local attractions around Miri city. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any requests, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable.
The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, while the hotel provided good value for money compared to other accommodations in the area. My booking comes with a breakfast, which was great to start the day.
Overall, I had a satisfying experience and would recommend City Rise Hotel Miri to travelers looking for an affordable, clean, and conveniently located place to stay.

AAJ & ECCheck in process was smooth and seamless. Room were located at 15th Floor. Room definitely has aged after the many years in operation. All were good, nevertheless. Breakfast next day was the highlight. A good selection of international and local dishes were served. Good variety I would personally say. Sservice staff was attentive and kitchen team delivered what was requested. Definitely will make a return visit to the hotel again 👍🏻

DDik FaiJust arrived at the hotel and was informed that there was ongoing water pipe repair work outside, which caused a temporary water disruption during the daytime. We couldn’t shower or wash our hands for a while, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, the water supply returned to normal again in the evening.
Front desk staff were still very polite and helpful throughout the situation.
We booked the Deluxe Single Room, and the king-sized bed was very comfortable and spacious, enough for us two adults and our 2yo child, with plenty of extra space. However, the bed felt slightly damp when we first arrived, but it became better later at night.
The hotel also has a family pool and direct beach access, which makes it a great place for families with kids to relax and unwind. The buffet breakfast menu was also quite rich with plenty of choices.

UUsuario invitadoOverall, the stay itself was comfortable, and the room met expectations. The hotel's aesthetic is elegant and beautiful, and its location is convenient, surrounded by chinese restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was also good and enjoyable. However, the experience was unfortunately dampened by issues at the front desk, hygiene standards in the common areas, and soundproofing. We arrived around 10am and requested an early check-in, fully understanding that the standard check-in time is 2pm and that any earlier arrangement is subject to room availability and discretion. However, we were told by staff that early check-in would only be possible with an additional charge of RM160. This created an uncomfortable impression where it felt less like a matter of room availability and more like withholding an available room in order to impose extra charges. The tone suggests monetising convenience which we weren't particularly happy about.
After checked-in around 5pm. we noticed dirty plates on the floor left near the lift area. What was more concerning was that these plates were still there in the same spot the next morning when we checked out. This raised questions about cleanliness and hygiene, especially in shared spaces. In addition, the soundproofing could be improved. Noise from children crying near the lift was clearly audible, and due to the hotel's proximity to the airport, airplane noise could also be heard. This may be a concern for light sleepers or guests seeking a quieter stay.
While the room and overall stay were generally good, these experiences affected our impression.

UUsuario anónimoThe hotel’s location is very strategic, with plenty of food options and amenities within walking distance, which is a definite advantage.
However, the service appears to be impacted by a shortage of staff. During both mornings at breakfast, we experienced long waits for coffee cups, juices, and water to be replenished. Cutlery setup and table clearing were also slow, resulting in guests having to take utensils from other tables or walk to the service station to get napkins, forks, and spoons.
We observed similar challenges during the wedding dinner we attended. Basic services such as drink refills were often overlooked and had to be requested multiple times.
Overall, while the location is excellent, improvements in staffing and service efficiency would greatly enhance the guest experience.

SSakura29En general, fue una buena estancia. El hotel está en una ubicación perfecta y es muy acogedor y tranquilo. El personal de recepción fue amigable y útil. Me alojaba en una agradable habitación con piscina y vistas al mar. Faiz Haslan también compartió alguna información sobre los lugares que visitaba, que fue muy útil. El desayuno era muy agradable y había una buena variedad de alimentos. Sería bueno disponer de WiFi en la habitación y no sólo en las zonas públicas.

JJohana binti JohariRoom with sea view was absolutely perfect. The panoramic ocean view from our room were breathtaking, green, fresh. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. Very calm pool to swim. Private beach access was ideal for relaxing vacation.

UUsuario invitadoThe hotel is beautifully designed, with an elegant atmosphere that creates a very comfortable stay. The interior is stylish, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, allowing me to have a great night's sleep.
However, I believe the hotel should pay more attention to housekeeping and quality control, especially considering it is a newly opened property.
The white coffee table in my room was covered with a noticeable layer of dust. When I wiped it with my hand, dust came off immediately. Surprisingly, the other tables in the room were clean, so it seemed that this particular table had been overlooked.
I also found dust on the floor beside the glass panel next to the bathtub, which looked as though it had not been cleaned. In addition, there was a loose screw beside the fish tank, along with visible traces of unfinished construction or installation work. These details should have been properly cleaned up and inspected before the room was handed over to guests.
The weighing scale also had visible dirty marks on it, which did not leave a good impression.
Another disappointment was that I called Guest Services twice to report these issues, but no one answered either call. In the end, I gave up trying.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the hotel's beautiful design, elegant ambience, and comfortable bed. My experience would have been much better if more attention had been given to cleanliness, room inspection, and guest service. I hope the management will address these issues, as the hotel has great potential to provide an excellent guest experience.
Should the hotel require further clarification, I would be happy to provide videos documenting the issues I encountered during my stay. I hope this feedback will be helpful in improving the overall guest experience.
