An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde.
They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass.
There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk.

今晚的入住體驗確實令人失望，主要問題出在房間的硬件設施上。不過必須要説，前台工作人員的服務態度非常好，她們的努力值得單獨表揚。
1. 異味問題。一開始被安排在8樓的房間，走廊裏就有明顯的刺鼻氣味。工作人員雖然很快用了香薰，但效果衹是把味道混在一起，並沒有從根本上解決。房間裏面也感覺很悶，空氣不流通，而且空調衹能出熱風，待了一會兒就覺得鼻子和嗓子都不太舒服。前台兩位小姐姐非常耐心，得知情況後主動帶我去看其他空房間，前後一共看了五間。有的房間潮濕，有的甚至有廁所的異味，可見不同客房的維護狀況差異很大。最後好不容易找到一間稍微正常點的，她們全程都沒有不耐煩，真的很感謝。
2. 水流問題。沒想到，房間的問題剛解決，洗澡又遇到了麻煩。我住的3樓房間，熱水水流特別小，水壓明顯不足。洗澡時衹能局部沖洗，體驗很不好。在空氣質量不佳的天氣裏，酒店內部因為通風的問題，反而讓人覺得更不舒適。
3. 隔音問題。每次隔壁關門我都能聽到聲音，還能聽到樓上聊天的聲音。
總的來説，這次入住遇到的異味、隔音和熱水問題，都是硬件或維護不到位導致的，確實影響了休息。但前台工作人員的專業和耐心是唯一的亮點，希望酒店管理層能重視並改善這些基礎問題，不要辜負員工的努力和客人的信任。

We just loved our 3-night stay at the Thaiwoo Hotel! First off, it was so clean, which is really important when traveling with family – you want everything to feel spotless and comfortable, and that’s exactly what we had here. The location was fantastic, especially for skiing families like ours. It’s just steps from the ski resort entrance, so no stressing about long walks or shuttles. Honestly, it couldn’t be more convenient!
There were plenty of food places around for easy dinners after a long day on the slopes, and the hotel’s breakfast was Chinese-style and absolutely satisfying. It gave us all the energy we needed for the day ahead – just perfect for both kids and adults!
The service was another highlight. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and traveling moms know how much little things like that matter. Plus, the hotel even offers a convenient transfer to the train stations, which made our trip so much easier. No headaches or complicated logistics – just smooth sailing!
We had such a wonderful time and will absolutely be coming back. If you’re planning a family ski trip, I can’t recommend the Thaiwoo Hotel enough. It checked all the boxes for us, and we can’t wait to return!

Hace poco me alojé en el Hotel Venice Waterworld en Shijiazhuang y, por desgracia, no cumplió mis expectativas. El hotel se siente bastante anticuado y necesita una renovación. Las habitaciones eran oscuras y viejas, con muebles desgastados y desgastados.
Uno de los mayores problemas era el aire acondicionado: era viejo y carecía de un termostato adecuado, lo que dificultaba regular la temperatura. UUsuario invitadoStayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay.

UUsuario invitadoI don't normally bother to write reviews, but this place is truly deserving of one. Our stay at Anaya was amazing to say the least. The place was so beautiful and serene, rivaling many of the luxury ryokans in Japan but with their own modern twist. We stayed in the queen room, and it’s fairly simple but more than adequate and comfortable. The in-room drinks and snacks were delicious, and they provided an additional special treat each day, which was an experience on its own. There wasn't a television, but we never felt that there was a need for one. It was a place where you can truly focus on unwinding and take things slow, but when needed, the Wi-Fi speed is sufficient for streaming on your own devices. The hotel is unique where you can just do everything within their compounds without needing to travel anywhere else. We really loved the Japanese bookstore, which is a must-visit, and spend some time admiring the garden next to it. They provide activities as well, so you will never feel like there is nothing to do. The spas are also highly recommended, which in fact warrants a trip all on its own even if you do not stay at the hotel. One of the spas is a re-purposed factory, and it's a truly unique experience which will appeal to architecture enthusiasts. Food was a little pricey, but you have a lot of options, and the ones we had were great. They even had their own provision shop for you to stock up on snacks and drinks. One of the main factors that truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service from Zhi Hui. She went above and beyond to share her personal contact in order to make sure we were well taken care of, answering our questions promptly and making arrangements for us. She even followed up with us after our departure to make sure we arrived at our next destination safely. The other staff around the hotel, including the restaurants, were also very friendly and helpful. There was even a sweet young lady selling what they harvested from the mountains as well as small snack stores, one of which was operated by a very friendly lady selling Japanese-style desserts. Our interactions with the people all felt really genuine and sincere. The experience wouldn't have been so wonderful if it weren't for our very pleasant experience with the people working in and around the hotel. They normally use a multi-seater buggy to ferry guests around, but when we were caught in the rain, they actually arranged a car to pick us up instead. Anaya Lanya Hotel is simply extraordinary, and we cannot recommend it enough.

Hay un autobús gratuito desde la estación de Taizicheng hacia y desde la ciudad de Taiwu al lado del hotel. El hotel cuenta con servicios e instalaciones de cinco estrellas, que incluyen piscinas, gimnasios y actividades infantiles. MMichael Exploring China and BeyondWe booked into the Holiday Inn Suites at ”Holiday Inn Langfang”, this time around.
Our previous visits to this hotel, were not particularly good, with service ”a lack of service”, being the primary reason.
Nevertheless, we wanted to try the ”Suites” section this time, and also see if things have improved.
Unfortunately, we were yet again inconvenienced at check in.
This is the only hotel, in China, in our experience that seem to not be favourable towards foreign guests.
Bearing in mind that we have visited numerous hotels, and have been living and working here for around four years.
Other than the most unpleasant check in process, our overall stay was fairly good.
The ”suite” has a fairly spacious layout, and the rate is relatively affordable.
We were very disappointed to learn that the swimming pool, was not operational (this whilst it's advertised on Trip.com).
We do enjoy the Breakfast at this hotel, in fact, we have breakfast here at least once a week.
Previously, we found that the Dish Name Cards at the Breakfast Buffet, are only in Chinese.
This is still the case, WHY?
As it's an ”International Brand”, hence we expect a level of English as well.
This can be such a lovely Hotel, if only they would work on improving their service levels.
With that said, we received excellent service from ”Allen”, whom tried his best to meet our requirements.
(Perhaps, his management, could learn some professional courtesy from him).
There are numerous hotels around, and if this one wishes to remain busy, best they improve their service, especially towards foreign guests.
