A good history of Alabama
The Archives and Museum are across the street from the Capitol so you can go to both! While the museum isn't huge, it's very well done.

Worth a visit if interested in Alabama history
The thing to visit in this large building is the history museum on the second floor. It is quite large and nicely done.
