Stayed here after more than 15 years. Booked the grand king bed and it was enormous. Arrived at 1pm and check in was completed in 5 minutes. Fantastic amenities with cable tv. Strong very hot shower. View of the swimming pool. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were too hard. Had a stiff neck the next day. Great food all around the hotel. Overall a wonderful stay.

This was our second stay at St Giles Hotel Southkey, and it continues to be a solid choice for a short getaway. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is definitely its location—it’s directly connected to Mid Valley Southkey, so shopping, dining, and entertainment are just a few steps away. It’s also quite accessible, only about a 15-minute drive from JB Sentral. This time, we booked the Urban Twin Room, which comes with two single beds. The room felt quite spacious and comfortable, with enough space to move around and store our belongings without feeling cramped. The bathroom is functional and clean, though it only comes with a shower and no bathtub, which might be a downside for those who prefer soaking tubs. Our rate included breakfast for two, and we were also given a welcome drink at L28 Café, which was a nice touch and a pleasant way to start our stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast itself was a letdown—many of the dishes were either overcooked or undercooked, which affected the overall dining experience. Overall, it’s a comfortable and well-located hotel, though the breakfast quality could definitely be improved.

Service was very good, friendly and helpful front desk/reservation office. I had a request as it was my son's actual birthday on the date we checked in and the hotel kindly arranged for a complimentary slice of cake. The hotel itself is a bit dated but rooms were clean and spacious. We had 2 smoking rooms on the 13th floor which had a nice view. The AC worked well, the bed was comfortable and the fridge did cool our drinks. Usual toiletries were provided, no hand towels though. Water pressure was alright but you may need to request for a bathtub stopper (if needed) as this was missing from both our rooms. TV channels were a bit spotty, in one room all movie channels were grainy and in the other room it was actually worse, could only see a few local channels. Wi-fi signal was strong. Power points were far from bedside which is to me a major drawback as I could not charge my devices conveniently next to the bed. In one room, one of the power points did not work and we had to use the kettle power point as the other was underneath the vanity table. We didn't bother to call maintenance as we were only there for one night. Location was good, it's not in the city itself but not very far, maybe 10-15 mins by Grab. There's quite a few food outlets nearby if you're willing to walk out of the property. It's also attached to a mall but I think the duty free outlet was being renovated. We didn't really walk around the mall so can't comment. Seems a bit limited though. There's a 7-11 downstairs at the hotel itself for any snack emergencies. Lots of clubs and nightlife immediately outside the hotel but it didn't really interfere with hotel guests so that's fine. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming but wasn't terrible. There was no live egg station which is always a disappointment as the pre-prepared eggs became rather dry and unappealing. I saw bread and butter pudding tag which I thought was a nice, however it was not replenished while I was there so couldn't try. Overall, I guess it's alright for the price point.

La ubicación del hotel es maravillosa. Opuesto JB City Square y a 5 minutos de CIQ. Conveniencia para aquellos que quieren quedarse cerca de CIQ. Conectado a 2 mallas. Parque de coches privado. Tenga en cuenta que el parque de coches es un poco estrecho, así que tenga cuidado. Las variedades de desayuno se consideran media, libres para niños menores de 12. El único que carecen es sus ascensores. Los ascensores siempre tienen problemas. Esta vez se ahorcó en el interior de al menos 5 minutos. No podían subir a nuestro piso aunque se había presionado el nivel de piso.

Nuestra estancia fue, en general, una experiencia fantástica. La habitación que nos dieron estaba limpia, era espaciosa y tenía una vista increíble; disfrutamos muchísimo de nuestra estancia. Sin embargo, no nos avisaron con antelación del cambio de habitación, aunque la nueva resultó estar bien. También sería útil que nos proporcionaran una ubicación más precisa, ya que la dirección que nos dieron no era la exacta y tuvimos que caminar entre 5 y 8 minutos para llegar al apartamento. A pesar de estos pequeños inconvenientes, lo pasamos de maravilla y apreciamos enormemente la hermosa vista y la comodidad de nuestra estancia.

I recently stayed at Z Hotel Johor and had a pleasant overall experience. The hotel is very centrally located in Johor Bahru, making it convenient to access shopping malls, restaurants, and key attractions within walking distance. The room was clean, modern, and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the nice city view from the room. The amenities provided were sufficient for a short stay, and everything was in good working condition. Service was generally good—staff were polite, helpful, and responsive when needed. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. On the downside, parking can be a bit limited, and the lobby area is relatively small, which may feel crowded during peak hours. Overall, Z Hotel Johor is a solid choice for travelers looking for a comfortable, affordable, and conveniently located stay in Johor Bahru. I would consider staying here again on my next visit.

Not the cleanliness hotel I've stayed thus far, feels very rundown but for its price, I guess that's what you pay for. Saw a dead cockroach on the wall, probably killed by previous guest and wasn't cleaned up by the housekeeper. The window is quite small but still visible. The toilet was acceptable with a slightly loose tap.

This tine, we booked 3D2N staycation at Holiday Villa. This was my amazing staycation at Holiday Villa. Connecting room in high floor and facing the same direction as the main road to the hotel lobby. We got to watch fireworks released by Malaysian residents celebrating Hari Raya on the eve. Nice fireworks from good view. Breakfast was good too. Rooms were kept clean . The only 2 improvements are firstly, the queen size bed with bath tub, taking a shower is challenging as the water leak from the side of the bath tub to the floor causing the toilet floor to be wet. I have to clean the floor after my shower. The second improvement is Friday soya bean drink was served hot , unfortunately today (Saturday) the soya bean drink is served cold. Counter staff can be more presentable and professional to serve customers in line than doing own things.
