We had very good stay here, spacious room, comfortable bed, nice pillow… just the right height (yes, they even went down to the detail of the pillow choices) Breakfast was good, 谢谢你阿姨，especially for the 小米粥. Location was superb, many eatery places around. Walking distance to major places of attraction. Very close walking distance to the famous 陶溪川, which we were so lucky to have impromptu visit to the 春秋大集. But above all, it was the extra efforts & services the owner has offered to us. Firstly the hotel helped us to move our luggages from our previous stay so that we could have late check-in, more time to visit the places we wanted to go. By the time we were back at nite, everything was already well arranged, our luggages were nicely in our rooms. Welcoming us with a beautiful bowl… full of local fruits. They even gave us a very beautiful multi-purposed bag with all the room amenities in it. The bag is huge, meant for laundry too. Oh yes, we did our laundry there, so convenient and thoughtful. BEST OF ALL 🥰 (this was way too unexpected) We were simply just wanted to arrange our next destination transportation. Ended up the owner shared us his beautiful car, asking one of the assistant to drive us personally. How long was the journey? Not close by at all, 2 hours to get there (for us), to and fro in 4 hours (for him). Great place to stay in Wuyuan and for us, everything was perfect. First the hotel helped us a lot to organize our stay in wuyuan and activities in the villages. The hotel is nice and a comfortable environment. It's location is a bit out of the way, but not too bad. The rooms are a bit small, particularly compared to similarly priced hotels in bigger cities. (e.g. I came from Shanghai and spent a similar price for a room that was easily 50% larger. Given Shanghai prices, it should have been the other way around.) The breakfast was very underwhelming. Poorly cooked ”western” food that only vaguely looked like what it was supposed to be, and tasted nothing like it. Small selection of lukewarm Chinese breakfast items. Tiny bottles of yoghurt. Very watered down juice.

This is my second time staying at this hotel on this trip (two days away at Wangxiangu). The first time I had a bad experience. Because there are not many foreigners who stay at this hotel, they knew that the bad review was from me. The hotel manager personally came to apologize for the bad experience and offered me a small gift. It was very nice, but it will not affect my review. Every problem that I had last time was gone. The only thing that I thought was very strange is that I booked the same kind of room as last time, but for some reason this room did not have a desk in it. Finally, the front desk staff had a note in English and Chinese asking about my stay and making sure that I was happy. I suggest that it becomes a staff rule to ask all customers (both Chinese snd foreigners) about their stay to make sure that everyone is happy, and any problems, big or small, that do happen can be quickly fixed for the next people who stay.
