Nice location. Beautiful view. Great service as well. Staff is nice. Breakfast spread is good - although many items were very salty. Same for dinner buffet. One issue - no lift. So people who cant take stairs are unable to go to bar above or spa below.

Era un buen hotel en pleno centro de Kandy. Había muchas tiendas alrededor. Hay un templo hindú cerca del hotel. El desayuno era bueno. Un buen lugar para alojarse.

The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

The hotel is nice, spacious beautiful room at check in we were treated to a refreshing juice. There is a big pool on the grounds and a big jacuzzi with hot water in the room.  Minuses of the hotel: Far from the attractions. Taxi from the center only go there for the price of pick me x2. Hotel taxi are 3 times more expensive. There are no stores and restaurants near the hotel, so inside the hotel prices for food x3, Also after 6pm it is dangerous to be outside because elephants are walking around. Now let's talk about the premium status and the five races. In 7 years of traveling, this is the first hotel that did not have a bathrobe, slippers and toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. The plumbing in the shower leaks, and the doors creak so much that you could call the spirits at night. Regarding the attention to the customer. I mentioned my upcoming birthday in conversation with the manager, but this fact was not used in any way to show any form of attention from the hotel. This is a huge miscalculation on the part of the staff at a premium hotel. We also had a late departure and our request to delay in the hotel for a couple of hours was refused. This was not due to the arrival of new customers, as the manager offered to extend our stay for a fee. For future customers this fact may be decisive in their choice. In general, the hotel is not bad, but the service and flexibility of the staff, as well as individual approach to customers, does not correspond to the premium level and requires improvement.

Los propietarios y empleados de este hotel son tan, tan hermosos. La piscina es un hotel decente, pero en la sombra no vi a nadie. Las fotos de la fiesta de piscina que sospecho de gran manera no fueron una fuente genuina. El bar que es masivo y asistido por varios jovenes y aburridos caballeros, cuando a la vez me aparecí (una vez para la cena) fui el único patrón. Afortunadamente, la puerta de la puerta estaba otra para algunos cocktails y música decentes que salvaron el aburrimiento un poco. El dormitorio era decente con un pequeño refrigerador (pero no funcionó), el baño era pequeño, sentía sucio, sin jabón de mano ni jabón para la ducha (aparte de los ocupantes anteriores de la casa de baño - y eso fue bruto). La presión era pobre, lo que dificultó la ducha y había parche en el suelo de algunos daños - no limpiado. La cama era masiva y cómoda con aire acondicionado y un fan así que el sueño era bueno. La ubicación del hotel es muy agradable, muy agradable y muy agradable. ¿Me quedaría otra vez allí - no. ¿Me quedaría a la casa para saludar a los propietarios y a la puerta de la puerta de un cocktail - posiblemente!

Room is spacious, have all amenities and toiletries (just missing the slippers). It have heater instead of air conditioner as there is mostly cold here. Centralized control system is a plus. Washroom is comparatively much smaller and just the basic size. Cons: The main thing was the management which was poor and mostly looked after only locals as we came to know by our driver. At check in the room key didn't worked 3 time and they have to call some technical guy to resolve the issue which was actually the issue in room door, still they gave us the same room. When we go to food court for breakfast in morning, it was only 4 set items only which also they decide they want to give or not. For every request it was a no even when we are willing to pay extra for the same. For the meal we had we asked extra sambhar they deny they can't give. We asked for sandwich or any breads which was also unavailable. But after sometime, they give sandwich to some other persons. When we confronted them, they told it is in different meal, we asked to give only sandwich they outright denied, when we said give meal they say come after 11. After complaining and telling at the reception his response was mostly defending and at last only told you can discuss with senior manager. It was our time to leave the city as per our itinerary so we left the place as it is.

Thank you for the upgrade to the room with a balcony, and I absolutely love the huge bathroom. Thank you for the friendly service staff who answered my every query. Waking up to the quiet of Kandy Lake before the rest of the city wakes was a really peaceful feeling and I really enjoyed just standing on tje balcony soaking in the sights. Loving the wide breakfast spread too, ranging from local fare to continental selection. I was spoilt for choice and my tummy really loved the chicken curry & daal. Thank you.

El hotel es bueno en general, pero caro. Debido a su proximidad a la naturaleza, prepárese para ver monos corriendo por los tejados y elefantes salvajes merodeando por la zona. Las vistas son impresionantes. Desventajas: desayunos deficientes (mucha variedad, pero poco sabrosos) e insectos en la habitación.

Este hotel está en medio de la jungla y tiene un diseño espectacular, realmente hermoso. Sin embargo, no lo recomendaría para viajeros solos; está más enfocado en parejas y familias. Por ejemplo, me hubiese encantado cenar en un restaurante tranquilo, acorde al entorno natural y relajado, pero la realidad fue muy distinta: el restaurante era un buffet lleno de gente, con música muy fuerte y mucho ruido ambiente, nada de calma. Durante el día todo era muy sereno, pero en la noche el ambiente cambiaba completamente. Había una terraza que estaba muy linda, pero el menú era muy limitado y el personal no hablaba bien inglés. Tampoco tenían un menú con fotos, así que me costó pedir comida. En cuanto a la habitación, la vista era espectacular, el baño y el servicio, realmente extraordinarios. Todo muy cuidado y estéticamente precioso. Lo único que criticaría es el servicio en el restaurante y la falta de un espacio tranquilo para cenar o relajarse por la noche. No tomé desayuno ni cené en ninguno de los dos días justamente por eso.

La habitación parecía limpia y espaciosa, pero tenía un olor fuerte. ¡El aire acondicionado era muy potente! El bufé, que se paga aparte, estaba buenísimo, no era caro y la comida estaba mejor que en China.
