I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

The Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou** underwent a renovation and upgrade in 2022, retaining some elements of Jiangnan-style gardens while blending in modern design. The overall aesthetic reflects a contemporary Chinese style, with partial preservation of traditional garden landscapes such as water features and pavilions. My stay at the Kimpton Bamboo Grove was quite satisfying overall. What I loved most was the breakfast here—the hotel offers a wide variety of high-quality options, from Chinese dim sum and Suzhou-style local delicacies to Western dishes, all meticulously prepared and exceptionally flavorful. The richness and refinement of the breakfast spread could even rival that of top-tier five-star hotels in Shanghai, providing guests with a premium dining experience. The selection was diverse, and every item was perfectly executed. The freshly made Suzhou-style noodle soup had a delicious broth, while the eggs Benedict from the Western breakfast station were authentically prepared. The fruit section featured fresh seasonal choices daily, making it enjoyable even after several days of dining there. The service attitude of the staff was truly commendable. The front desk handled check-in efficiently, and room service was quick to respond. Most of the hotel employees were young and eager to assist guests. Rachel added me on WeChat, so whenever I had any room requests, I could simply message her before heading out—very convenient and thoughtful service! The room itself was moderately sized with a practical layout, comfortable bedding, and well-scented amenities. The bathroom had strong water pressure, and the housekeeping staff kept everything spotless daily. The hotel’s location was convenient, within walking distance to several major attractions. The public areas were well-maintained, clean, and cozy—especially the lobby lounge, which was perfect for waiting or getting some work done. While it may not be the kind of jaw-dropping luxury experience, the fact that every aspect was executed flawlessly, paired with attentive and considerate service, makes it a hotel I’d gladly choose again. We are travelers from Lithuania and after visiting many highly rated hotels around the world, we can honestly say this hotel is a true hidden gem and fully deserves the highest possible rating. Our stay here exceeded expectations in every way. The hotel itself is very elegant, peaceful, and beautifully designed. The courtyard area is absolutely wonderful — very clean, relaxing, with a beautiful pond full of colorful fish that creates a special atmosphere both during the day and evening. The rooms are spacious, fresh, spotless, and very comfortable. Everything feels carefully maintained and much more premium than the price we paid. Honestly, we felt we received far more value than expected. What made this experience truly exceptional was the employee Charles. He was incredibly professional, warm, and genuinely caring during our whole stay. He always helped us with recommendations about the best places to visit, restaurant guidance, arranging taxis, taking care of our luggage, and even helped create a wonderful fish-feeding experience for us. Small details like this made our trip feel special and memorable. You can clearly feel real hospitality here, not just hotel service. We stayed as a couple and would happily return again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Suzhou who wants an authentic, elegant, and relaxing experience. Mi marido dijo que la fachada es muy antigua y que al entrar hay una fuerte sensación de contraste, hay un mundo único en el interior. El ambiente general del hotel es bueno, las habitaciones están una al lado de la otra, pero el efecto de aislamiento acústico es bueno. La propietaria enviará mensajes de texto cuidadosamente para recordarles a todos el tiempo de descanso y tener cuidado de no molestarse, es muy tranquilo. A 50 metros al lado de este hotel se encuentra mi propio restaurante, el ambiente del restaurante también es muy elegante, lo cual es muy bueno para un B&B. Fuera de la ventana, se pueden ver las fuertes características arquitectónicas de las dinastías Ming y Qing. Desayuno🈶 Los fideos Aozao gratis nos proporcionaron aderezos de verduras encurtidas y carne de cerdo desmenuzada, que era perfecto para la familia.

Un lugar precioso en pleno centro, con un montón de opciones para comer cerca y un bar muy mono justo al lado. Las ventanas de mi habitación daban al canal; ver cómo el pueblo se tranquilizaba al anochecer y luego despertaba al día siguiente era mágico. La decoración y el mobiliario tradicionales chinos son preciosos, y la cama era cómoda. Los anfitriones fueron muy acogedores y amables; me obsequiaron con una caja de galletas locales que estaban deliciosas.

La casa de huéspedes se encuentra en la calle Pingjiang. Es una típica casa con patio de estilo Suzhou, en la región de Jiangnan; un edificio de dos plantas con paredes blancas, ladrillos grises y una exuberante vegetación. Bajo sus aleros envueltos en la niebla, evoca una hermosa estampa de la vida tranquila de Jiangnan.

Instalaciones: Tal como se muestra en las fotos. Muy nuevo. Muy satisfecho. Tiene tres plantas, y me alojé en la última, que era tranquila y sin interrupciones. Limpieza: Limpio y cómodo, muy satisfactorio. Entorno: 1. A solo unas pocas decenas de metros de la taquilla del Shen Hall, muy conveniente. 2. El pequeño patio frente al B&B es hermoso, perfecto para tomar fotos y registrarse. Servicio: Envié la ubicación del taxi y llegué directamente. Resumen: Este B&B fue fantástico. ¡Me alojaré aquí de nuevo la próxima vez que visite Zhouzhuang!

The staff were incredibly attentive and made me feel truly welcome throughout my stay. Their coffee is excellent, and the sweetest little kitten adds such a warm, homely touch to the place. The manager also gave me fantastic recommendations for local restaurants, which I really appreciated. My room was very comfortable, with everything I needed. The hotel itself is perfectly located in a quiet, pleasant setting — ideal for relaxing while still being close to everything. I absolutely loved my stay here and would recommend it a thousand times over!
