SSuyash BapnaI stayed here initially for 3 nights for Canton Fair Phase 1 and decided to come back for Phase 2 and stayed in Hotel Merlinhod itself due to great size of the rooms where in, it was really spacious, neat and clean. I arrived late around 2:30 am and received great service by getting my room and collecting couple of parcels that I had ordered from my supplier. The staff at the reception were also friendly and accommodating as Huo (Yanyan), May, and Mai were amazing at their work where in I left my luggage for 3 nights in the hotel and received it as it was. Overall, great place to stay.

吃吃货chihuoI booked this hotel despite knowing it’s a bit far from the city center, typically requiring a 45-minute to 1-hour cab ride or a 1.5-hour journey by metro (there are two metro stations nearby). After calculating the cost savings of staying here and using cabs versus staying downtown, I found it worth it. That said, if you’re on a tight schedule, the location might not be ideal. One of the main reasons I chose this place was its newness, spaciousness, and the inclusion of a washing machine, which is essential for longer stays. However, since the property is newly established, many nearby F&B options are still under construction, especially around the hotel area. That said, there are nearby malls like Wanda Mall where you can find food and other necessities. A café and a mini-mart are already operational, and the area might become livelier in a few months. Cleanliness: I have to put it out there that I am particular when it comes to cleanliness. While the hotel is clean overall, there seems to be a lack of consistent training for the housekeeping staff. For instance, despite the initial unclean room being promptly addressed and replaced, I noticed a pile of hair/dust in one spot from Day 4 until the end of our stay—it remained untouched. I do hope that the cleaning staff would take extra precautions and being more thorough during their rounds. Overall, the cleaning staff were friendly and apologetic when reminded, but it would have been better if the cleaning was consistently thorough without needing reminders (almost on a daily basis). Amenities: I appreciated the Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom—it was a nice touch and made my stay more enjoyable. However, I did have an issue with the towels. While they were new and clean, I wished they had better quality. The towel piles would shed and stick to my body and face after use, which was frustrating. I hope this is something the hotel can address in the future. Service : The service has its highs and lows, but I will still give it a 5 as the staffs are friendly and apologetic for the issue caused. For instance, when we initially received an unclean room, the staff promptly moved us to a clean one and offered complimentary breakfast (though we didn’t end up using it). The hotel’s service WeChat was efficient, and staff responded quickly to requests. However, there were a few hiccups. For example, when we requested detergent and later asked for extra water upon delivery, the staff appeared slightly taken aback and commented on why we didn’t request both at the same time. While it might have been a minor misunderstanding, the comment and attitude felt unnecessary. One major inconvenience was the WiFi, which went down twice during our stay—once for an entire day. This was especially frustrating as I was on a work trip and had to rely on roaming, which incurred additional charges. While the staff apologized and reimbursed us, stable WiFi is essential and should be a priority. Overall, this hotel offers good value for money if you don’t mind the distance. I do hope that the hotel will have a better cleaning SOP in future.

MMiss Ina伊娜We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The service was good. The breakfast was decent. The beach was very clean. They also had lifeguards to watch out for the people. Its a beautiful place and highly recommend it. The only thing that was not good was that there is no shading on the beach area and you can even put up something to shield the kids from the hot sun.

A well-stocked mall is right beside the hotel, making it super easy to grab daily necessities. The best part? A lively night market is directly opposite the hotel! This makes finding delicious, affordable local food incredibly convenient any time of the evening. The whole area is very 热闹 (rènào - bustling/energetic) – perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action. Cleanliness: 3/5 – Okay for the Price, Manage Expectations The general cleanliness is acceptable, if you adjust your expectations. It's definitely not a 5-star luxury experience, but for a budget/mid-range stay, it's passable and reasonably maintained. Don't expect immaculate perfection, but the basics are covered. Room & Atmosphere: 2/5 – Persistent Smoke Smell The major downside, especially in the rooms and hallways, is a strong and pervasive smoke smell. It's quite noticeable and doesn't dissipate easily. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue in many hotels within the region, but it's definitely present and unpleasant here if you're sensitive to it. Breakfast: 1/5 – Strongly Not Recommended / Unhygienic Avoid the breakfast option. Hygiene standards here are very poor. I personally observed small cockroaches crawling on the tables in the breakfast area. This is completely unacceptable and a major health red flag. Do yourself a favor and skip it entirely. Thankfully, with McDonald's, Luckin, the mall food court, and the fantastic night market opposite, you have plenty of much better (and cleaner) alternatives nearby. Overall: This hotel is all about the location, location, location. If being in a super convenient, vibrant area with easy access to food, coffee, and shopping is your top priority, and you're on a budget, it serves that purpose. The cleanliness is tolerable for the category. However, the strong smoke smell in the rooms and corridors is a significant drawback, and the breakfast is dangerously unhygienic (cockroach sighting confirmed). Choose this hotel for the prime spot if you can tolerate the smoke and definitely plan to eat breakfast elsewhere. Who should stay: Budget-conscious travelers prioritizing an unbeatable, lively location who aren't sensitive to smoke smells and will skip the hotel breakfast. También hay tiendas con productos básicos y está cerca de centros comerciales como Pop Mart, Hot Maxx y Miniso, así que no hace falta ir a ningún otro sitio. La habitación, en nuestro caso, estaba bien. Aunque no era lujosa, tenía lavadora, cocina de gas, sartenes, platos y una olla eléctrica; ¡de verdad que se puede cocinar! La presión del agua era buena y se podía regular la temperatura entre caliente y fría. No había bidé, pero no fue un problema. La habitación era espaciosa, luminosa y espaciosa. Sorprendentemente, para una villa enclavada en las montañas y junto al mar, la habitación no mostraba ningún signo de humedad; estaba increíblemente seca. El hotel está muy bien, pero no hay nada que pueda hacer. Nos quedamos en las tiendas más pequeñas que ofrecen, y era perfecto para lo que necesitamos. Tienen una piscina abierta sólo desde 4:30-6:30pm. Sería agradable si se hubiera disponible también en la mañana! No hay mucho que hacer en la zona circundante del resort. Puede pescar, caminar por el bosque a lo largo del río. Sugiero tomar algunas cosas de actividad para hacer como badminton o otros juegos de tabla, etc. Hay grandes espacios para niños y diversión se incorporan en los diseños de algunas de las habitaciones. Hay muchos tipos de instalaciones de tenta y algunos tienen una gran privacidad mirando al río y tienen algunos tubos de primavera calientes (pool de plunga). Las pequeñas tiendas de tiendas no tienen privacidad, pero son adecuadas para una breve estancia en la naturaleza. Obtener allí es fácil por didi o alquilado auto, recuperar sólo tienes que hacer tu búsqueda en la aplicación más amplia porque la ubicación es un poco aislada de áreas ocupadas, pero de lo contrario también no es un problema.
