A lovely traditional country house hotel. The public rooms were just what you expected, old world charm, the food excellent but the best asset was the friendly and helpful staff. Unable to comment on bedrooms as we were in an accessible room which wasn’t great, good parking though. Needs attention to basic customer requirements, overall a great few days

The only thing that lets us down is one of the staff in the restaurant. We sat there for ages waiting to be served. Because he won't be serving us not until 8pm. So we've waited patiently, because we have just arrived that night and was very hungry. This man was serving other people, but not us. So my husband and I were wondering what's going on. So my husband went to the till and queued up. But when it's my husband's turn, he asked, ”Who's next?? Obviously, my husband was in front of him. Then, when my husband asked if we could order now, he looked at him and me and saying ”Oh, just wait to your table, and I will get your order from there. . Maybe because I am the only Asian there. I feel like there's a bit of racism to be honest. We went back to our table and waited to be served again. But he didn't turn up and served the next table beside and served some other customer who came after us. I was so mad and upset. But I don't want cause a scene. So we we just went out and looked for another restaurant outside the hotel. We're so disappointed, and we didn't expect to be treated like that. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. I just forgot his name. But the one at the restaurant is not nice at all. He ruined our family holiday. We won't be coming back anymore there.
Bags of character, they play up to the castle theme and that's a good thing! I normally hate single rooms but was made up with this one. So comfy...PS it's *******

El hotel fue fantástico, la comida era excelente y el personal se fue, mucho más allá. El hotel tenía dos bodas en la noche de mi estancia y entre las 12:45 y las 14:30 no pude dormir por el grito, la risa, la fiesta que se estaba celebrando por los pasillos. Nunca he oído a ningún personal tratando de resolver la situación, sólo mucho ruido.
Tuve que pagar 20 libras adicionales por que mis perros quedarse y no se les permitió En el restaurante - que es muy razonable, pero tengo que decir que se comportaban mejor que los otros animales que no tenían que pagar ningún suplemento o no tenían que seguir cualquier regla de conducta básica.
En el checkout, no me preguntaron si tenía una estadía agradable.
Si es el tipo de establecimiento utilizado pero Trip.com, entonces sólo puedo decir que las primeras impresiones van mucho y me quedaré con otros corredores de hotel en el futuro.
I have been to Hartlepool many times in the past stayed in different places over the years but the Grand Hotel I liked nice staff spacious rooms location ideal I did come across one rude customer that was not very nice despite the staff doing g everything they could for her so I just had to tell her off fo being so rude definitely will stay again and also o e mention to the curry house in the same building excellent food and again nice staff

However, I am not a big fan of their lunch or dinner when you can have better options in nearby restaurants. Furthermore, there is a small bar just outside the restaurant. The Gym, coffee room and reception are at the LG level, and you will receive a 10% discount in the coffee room after check-in.
The location is very close to the city center, train station and several main attractions such as the cathedral and castle.
Overall, I enjoy my two-day stay very much, the price of the hotel is very cost-effective in terms of the four-star standards, providing an unforgettable experience for both tourists and business travelers.

UUsuario invitadoAbsolutely wonderful. Id stayed at Durham Royal County before with my girlfriend. However she didn't come with ne this time due to reasons that she had. The staff at the hotel were lovely about it and made me feel better about tge situation and a lovely note and complementary drinks for me to come back to in my room.
All I can say is thankyou and I'll look forward to staying with you again soon.

UUsuario invitadoWe really enjoyed our stay, the location is ideal and the grounds were beautiful and quiet! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional!
The only downside was that our room had only one plug socket that we could use.....just not enough these days, even just for basic needs..... very poor unfortuneatly. Air conditioning would have been welcomed, we would therefore definitely avoid this Hotel in summer months for this reason alone. One other small irritant, our bathroom had a glass shelf above the sink which tilited heavily towards the sink, so we had to be very careful to ensure things didn't keep falling over.
Our breakfasts were excellent (apart from the Omelettes), and the service staff were very welcoming....a great start to any day!
UUsuario invitadoAbsolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. Decor is modern and appealing throughout. Staff are helpful. Lovely restaurant and fantastic coffee served there. The only slight issue I would say, is that you can hear guests in the next room very easily and this isn’t desirable for obvious reasons. We sadly ended up with very noisy guests in the room next to us the first night we stayed and this caused considerable disruption to our sleep pretty much all night. Saying this, we didn’t notify the staff though (so they may have been able to help) as there was no phone in the room. The next night was fine and completely silent so this would be dependent on who you have staying near you.
