Very beautiful location in astonishing condition. The room was a bit tiny but that’s not a problem. We were missing some stylish decor, the room seemed more like convent than castle. The black stains in the shower were a bit disappointing. The internet connection was great, nothing to complain about. The breakfast was almost complete, but some more personal attention would have been nice instead of leaving the guests on their own. In total this was a nice place, but I would prefer, even to pay a little bit more to get the little extra in comfort and style, like minibar, water kettle for coffee or tea.

Entrance somewhat daunting with noisy major renovations upon arrival in mid-afternoon. Compensated for by the receptionist bringing us both mugs of excellent local beer to our room. Rooms light and bright and nicely modernized.

The hotel is partially under renovation and the restaurant is closed. Nice yeah, but ok. If you plan to come on a Tuesday, keep in mind that all restaurants are closed, except 1 which is obviously fully booked (Sudhaus), and the closest open is at 7 km away. That’s what I have been proposed at the reception, careless about the fact I had just drove 700 km and the last thing I wanted was to take my car again. Not even a biergarten around, the absolute nothingness. It’a not the hotel’s fault. But is it possible not to ensure to the guests the possibility to have dinner somewhere in town ?

Das Schloss selbst ist ein Erlebnis. Zentral in Thurnau gelegen, hervorragend saniert, ein tolles Erlebnis. Frühstück war OK - passte zum guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Leider merkt man, dass aktuell keine überaus engagierte Hotelmannschaft im Haus tätig ist. Das Zimmer war zur Anreise nur unzureichend gereinigt. Die Möbel hatten Staub der letzten Wochen (!) angesammelt. Wenn die Suche nach einem neuen Betreiber abgeschlossen ist, wird hoffentlich wieder durchgestartet. Das Haus hätte es verdient.

Très pratique quand on est au festival de Bayreuth. Le château a été entièrement rénové pour accueillir des congrès et il
Ne reste à l intérieur rien du charme extérieur. Si l on ala chance d être dans les chambres du 1er étage haute sous plafond elles sont charmantes avec de grandes salles de bain. Le petit déjeuner à l allemande est très varié

Vi valgte å overnatte på dette stedet på vei nedover i Europa. Fine, nyoppussede rom, god frokost og hyggelig staff. En restaurant/kro rett rundt hjørnet for slottet med nydelig mat. Vi valgte derfor å overnatte her på hjemturen også :)

Das Zimmer war okay, das Bad unterirdisch. Die Duschkabine fiel fast auseinander. Alles uralt und verdreckt.4 Sterne? Niemals!
Auch der Rezeptionsbereich müsste mal gründlich geputzt werden. Mit einem völlig verstaubten Telefon muss man jemanden rufen. Die Dame war sehr nett, musste aber offensichtlich alles alleine machen und hatte deshalb sehr gut zu tun.
Bewirtung gibt es keine, auch wenn auf der Homepage steht, dass das Restaurant geöffnet hat. Gilt aber nur für Hochzeiten etc.
Das Frühstücksbuffet hingegen ist gut.
Der Schlosshof ist wunderschön, sehr schade, dass das Hotel nicht gepflegt wird.
