I booked the property because of the location, 150 meters from the Vatican, however we were put in a small double room with a street view with no air conditioning, unable to open the windows due to street noise/pollution. I had advised the hotel in advance I was travelling with my elderly mobility reduced mother. The room was hot and cramped. When I asked regarding air conditioning the staff were hostile and difficult. Eventually we were relocated/upgraded to another room after 2 days- staff informed me this was the ‘handicapped room’ and informed me of the usual price, I was surprised of the terminology used and that they were informing me of the usual prices. If I had paid the usual price I would have been looking for a refund for the mobility friendly/disabled accommodation room as we could hear/kept awake at night by the bar above our heads, chairs been dragged across the terrace, power washing the terrace in the morning, we could hear full conversation in our bathroom area, we could hear the receptionist during the night on the phone, Shower curtain around shower bedrooms badly needed painting due to marks, poor lighting in bedroom, clothing holder on bathroom door impractical unless you are 6 foot tall. Bathroom mirror badly damaged. Overall not what I would expect considering how much is paid. Be mindful in communal spaces of large carpet that is damaged and stuck down with tape! Overall you are paying for location- I would recommend staying for 1-2 nights, preferably Saturday night, great views from terrace on Sunday morning, or visit Vatican on Sunday morning, the hotel is the opposite side of the city for everything else and all restaurants around are tourist traps. If you want a cappuccino/expresso go to a cafe on the street for a 1/4 of the cost of the hotel 🤷‍♀️ overall I can’t recommend the hotel
