I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Baibale and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the Lancang area. The facilities were excellent—everything was clean, comfortable, modern, and thoughtfully maintained. After long days of cycling, it was the perfect place to rest and recover. One detail I especially appreciated was the generous standard checkout time of 2:00 PM, which made departure much more relaxed than at most hotels. The included breakfast and lunch were both fantastic. The food was fresh, delicious, and gave me a great opportunity to enjoy local flavors without having to rush out to find a meal. What truly sets Baibale apart, however, is the staff. I was bikepacking across China and later flying onward, and they went far above and beyond to help me throughout my stay. Whether it was assisting with logistics, answering questions, or simply taking the time to make sure everything was going smoothly, they consistently showed genuine kindness and hospitality. One of my favorite parts of my stay was spending time talking with the staff about the different local teas. They were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share their passion, making the experience feel much more personal than just staying at a hotel. Those conversations, along with all of their other thoughtful help, made my time in Lancang especially memorable. If you’re staying in the Lancang area, Baibale is a place you shouldn’t miss. Between the excellent facilities, great food, generous checkout time, and some of the warmest, most attentive hospitality I’ve experienced anywhere, it was easily one of the highlights of my trip across China.

La ubicación del hotel es un poco discreta. Hay muchos hoteles alrededor y no muchas instalaciones para vivir. Hay que caminar un poco. La sala se inauguró hace poco y el olor no se ha disipado del todo. El horario del desayuno fue un poco caótico, no había suficientes asientos y los platos no se reponían a tiempo. When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

Debo aclarar que este hotel no merece una calificación de 4.7, y fue precisamente esta calificación la que me llevó a elegirlo como mi alojamiento para mi viaje de 4 días a Pu'er. Las paredes de la habitación tenían goteras y moho; el soporte del grifo de la ducha estaba roto y nadie lo reparó a pesar de mis quejas; el robot de reparto de comida no estaba conectado al teléfono, por lo que no sabía cuándo llegaba a la puerta; había varios problemas en el baño (ver fotos); la lavandería no era igual a la del Hotel Ji, sino que tenía lavadoras y secadoras domésticas, y por eso la secadora solo podía secar una pequeña cantidad de ropa a la vez. En resumen, parece que este hotel era bastante bueno cuando se construyó, pero desde entonces se ha descuidado el mantenimiento, lo que ha provocado su actual estado de deterioro. Quienes valoren los detalles deberían elegir con cuidado.

Fantastico hotel en una ubicación fantástica. Debe ser uno de los mejores hoteles que he permanecido en China. El precio es muy razonable para la calidad del hotel. La habitación era muy espaciosa y la cama muy cómoda. El desayuno era excelente con una gran selección de comida fresca cocinada. Las nueces frescas, el pan de Brioche y los huevos fritos eran mi favorito. Además, había muchas otras opciones de comida. El hotel tiene una buena oferta de café con una hermosa cappuccino con leche fresca. Si estás en pu'er encontrarás difícil conseguir un hotel mejor por el dinero, con todas las instalaciones y tan cerca de la antigua ciudad de Simao.

自駕趕路去往景洪，中途在墨江落腳選這家酒店太明智了，緊挨着高速出入口，上下路特別省事。周邊餐館、小店很多，吃飯採購補給都很便利。客房衞生打掃得乾乾淨淨，酒店有綠化露台打理得很用心。前台貼心提供免費甜水，還能預約免費洗衣，工作人員上門收送衣物，長途自駕換洗輕鬆不少。全程服務熱情周到，休整體驗遠超預期，自駕路過強烈推薦！另外，餐廳環境非常好，早餐種類非常豐富，餐廳工作人員也會熱情問好，耐心服務！

I was arranged to stay at a Wyndham Hotel in Hangzhou during a major flight delay, it was pleasant so trying another in another city. 15-20minutes cab ride to/from Railway Station. Location was perfect for my itinerary and in a quiet local neighbourhood. If you order parcels, most likely you’ll have to pick it up from pick-up points nearby and not in the hotel. Short walk, about 5minutes? Amenities are great, love all the soap scents. Room is clean, but there was some smell coming from near the toilet area, maybe the drain/sewage?

Siguiendo un itinerario sugerido, me alojé dos noches en Manghong e hice senderismo hasta las aldeas alta y baja de Mangjing, el Árbol de la Abeja Reina, el Árbol Banyan Princesa, la montaña Aileng y el Templo del Ancestro del Té (dejé Wengji para la siguiente parada porque estaba demasiado cansado). Todavía hay rutas de senderismo que merecen la pena. Sin embargo, los dos últimos días requerían una exploración cultural más profunda y una experiencia más inmersiva. El Patio de la Familia Xiangong fue una excelente elección, que nos permitió pasar un día sumergiéndonos en la cultura local. Por ejemplo, el hotel organizó una experiencia de preparación de té, que fue profesional y divertida. El resto del tiempo lo dedicamos a explorar las distintas zonas del hotel y a encontrar nuestro rincón favorito para sentarnos y relajarnos. Por ejemplo, la habitación de mi padre tenía una piscina justo afuera; sentarse allí a ver llover fue increíblemente agradable, y las plantas de enfrente crecían sobre las paredes, haciéndome sentir como si estuviera en Hainan. Por las noches, el hotel tenía un ambiente maravilloso, con gente reunida alrededor de la chimenea, disfrutando de té con leche, pipas de girasol y escuchando a un cantante que interpretaba canciones folclóricas Dai con guitarra. Al día siguiente, fuimos a Nuogan. El hotel nos regaló seis fotos, y debo decir que el estudio fotográfico que organizaron era increíblemente profesional. Mejoró muchísimo nuestra experiencia de viaje. A todos nos encantó Nuogan; comer, beber y recorrer el pueblo fue muy agradable, incluso bajo la lluvia. De vuelta en el hotel, tomamos té en el vestíbulo, y después de cenar, fuimos a la chimenea a escuchar música, asar maíz y patatas. No importaba dónde nos sentáramos, hicimos nuevos amigos y charlamos. Este hotel crea fácilmente un ambiente acogedor, lo que nos permitió conocernos y relajarnos. El servicio fue excelente; ofrecieron servicio de mayordomo, lo cual fue un detalle muy considerado. Conocimos al Sr. Wu al reservar la habitación. Debido a algunos problemas personales, el Sr. Wu nos ayudó a aliviar nuestras preocupaciones y compartió con nosotros muchas historias interesantes de la zona. Mi padre, que es muy hablador, apreció mucho su profesionalismo y sentido del humor (el Sr. Wu también es un excelente guía turístico local).
