A truly spectacular place to stay while in Datong. The owner and his staff made us feel very welcome, questions and requests were attended to promptly and with a smile. When the owner asked us to treat the place like our home, he meant it, and looked after us like family. Our room was stylish, elegant and comfortable, the contemporary finish inside allowed us our modern comforts while retaining its historical facade. Our room was one of two that shared a courtyard. Although too cold to sit outside, I can see a return in warmer weather to enjoy the courtyard. The first three pictures were provided by the owner as we were too excited and forgot to take pictures of the room, but they mirror reality. The last picture was ours, and will remind us of the magical time we had here. The accommodation is a short walk to the South gate of the old city wall, close to the buzz of the shops of the old city but away from the crowds. Five star hotels can learn a thing or two about service from this establishment. We will be back.

Our stay at Bo Yuan’er Platinum Courtyard Hotel in Datong was outstanding. The hotel enjoys an excellent location right in the heart of Datong’s Ancient City. Being situated in the pedestrian zone means it is wonderfully quiet at night with no traffic noise, yet it still offers the convenience of an underground parking garage for guests arriving by car. The hotel is newly built with beautiful traditional-inspired architecture, and the rooms are luxurious, spacious, and finished to a very high standard. Everything felt modern, elegant, and exceptionally well maintained. The Chinese breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes. Every morning was a pleasure. What impressed us most was the genuinely warm hospitality of the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, professional, and always happy to help with any request. They kindly offered us a late checkout, which made our travel plans much more comfortable. As a final surprise, we even received a thoughtful gift when we left—a wonderful gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s exceptional service. We highly recommend Bo Yuan’er Platinum Courtyard Hotel to anyone visiting Datong. It combines a perfect location, beautiful accommodations, outstanding breakfast, and truly first-class hospitality. We would gladly stay here again.

Mis amigos y yo realmente sentí en casa, apamperado por Ben, el tipo que maneja el lugar con tal cuidado y atención a sus huéspedes que nunca he experimentado en ningún otro lugar (ni siquiera en hoteles 5-star!). Él y su hermana nos recogió en la estación ambos hablan excelente inglés (que no es algo que se puede tomar por concedido en China) y recomendaron restaurantes locales increíbles, atracciones que deben ver, y nos acogió con un hermoso paquete de regalos de especialidades locales. Para el desayuno, la madre de Ben preparaba una comida tradicional rica y deliciosa, y para nuestra viaje en tren incluso empacó pan de casa para que nos llevara juntos! Datong es una ciudad encantadora, y si visitas, tienes que permanecer aquí!

La casa de huéspedes estaba ubicada cerca de la Puerta Norte de la ciudad antigua, lo que la hizo fácil de encontrar. La señora que preparó el desayuno también era increíblemente hábil; todavía recuerdo los fideos hechos a mano, mucho mejores que los de los restaurantes Lao Chai. Como era tan difícil conseguir reservas en Fenglinge y Longjuxiang, la recepcionista me dijo que Longjuxiang ofrecía servicio a domicilio, así que pedimos y comimos allí, ¡sin arrepentimientos!

Si llega tarde en primavera, es recomendable reservar el hotel con antelación para asegurar una plaza de aparcamiento. De hecho, el hotel está un poco lejos del casco antiguo. This hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is! The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup. The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained. Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!

Nos registramos en el Hotel Datong Wangfu Supreme el 7 de septiembre. El hotel tiene una ubicación excelente y un transporte conveniente. Las habitaciones están limpias y ordenadas, el ambiente es cómodo, la decoración es exquisita, las instalaciones son completas, la ropa de cama es suave, el baño está seco y los camareros son cálidos, atentos, proactivos y considerados, especialmente Liu Yunhua y Yu Hongwei, quienes son muy atentos y entusiastas.
