This homestay (B&B) was Amazing! Coming from the US, and not being able to speak Chinese, we just planned to not take advantage of any hotel transportation. This hotel reached out to us via chat on Trip and coordinated pick-up a couple days prior, allowing us to use translation apps. Our train arrived several hours before scheduled check-in for the hotel, wasn’t an issue at all. Check-in was quick and we received some local goodies as well as a fruit basket. Amenities for the room are amazing, room itself is fully electronic and state of the art. The blow dryer was Dyson! We planned to walk to lunch, they kindly gave us a free ride. Breakfast was great as well with some local specialities (all fresh, not a buffet). This homestay was so welcoming and amazing, it made us sad we had only planned one night in Datong!

An absolutely gem inside the Datong ancient city square in a modern gated compound, conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and many ancient and historical sites. Our booking came with a free pick up and drop off from the train station. The room is super clean, comfortable and well equipped ( with Dyson hair drier) whilst the toilet is fully automatic with a heated seat . Our main highlight is most definitely the incredible staff. They were warm, attentive and the service was so personal that our experience in Datong became so special. We were concerned as we weren’t able to book our entry ticket to the Hanging temple before we arrived, but the staff recommended a fantastic driver who took us there early in the morning and ensured everything worked out well. The homemade and included breakfast was delicious and incredibly special . They also prepared our breakfast to go on the day we left very early in the morning. Similarly whenever we asked for a recommendation for restaurants or activities, they very kindly personally accompanied us to where we needed to go whilst ensuring we were attended to. All their suggestions were superb. The level of attention we received is simply unmatched compared to that of large hotel chain.

Sin duda dejaré una reseña positiva si me lo piden, pero hacerlo en secreto es pasarse de la raya. Me alojé dos noches e hice dos reservas por separado. La primera noche, llegué al hotel a las 11 p. m. y la cerradura de la puerta no funcionaba, y faltaba la cremallera de seguridad. El personal intentó arreglarlo, pero no pudo. Tuve que conformarme con la habitación sin poder cambiarme. La segunda noche, llamé para pedir un cambio de habitación, y accedieron enseguida e incluso me dieron un regalo (dos bolsas de fideos fríos y tres bebidas). Mi estancia fue muy agradable. El tercer día, al hacer el check-out, la recepción, quizás por miedo a dejar una mala reseña, me pidió que dejara una reseña positiva. Dije que sí, que tenía prisa por coger mi vuelo, que lo dejaría para después. Entonces la recepción me dijo: ”¿Podría abrir su reserva de Ctrip para que pueda comprobarla?”. Cuando les devolví el teléfono, vi cómo lo tocaban y me lo devolvían. Me di cuenta de que habían dejado una reseña positiva. Tenía prisa por llegar al aeropuerto y no tuve tiempo de dejar una. Me parece una actitud muy ofensiva. ¿Acaso tratan mal a sus clientes? Es la primera vez que me encuentro con un empleado así en todas las tiendas Manxin del país. ¿No deberíamos mejorar la calidad de nuestro personal?

La casa de huéspedes estaba ubicada cerca de la Puerta Norte de la ciudad antigua, lo que la hizo fácil de encontrar. Al llegar el primer día, la recepcionista nos recibió personalmente, haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Nos acompañó hasta la casa y nos dio un mapa escrito a mano con información detallada sobre restaurantes y atracciones cercanas. Incluso nos preguntó a qué hora planeábamos desayunar al día siguiente para prepararlo, un detalle muy considerado. La señora que preparó el desayuno también era increíblemente hábil; todavía recuerdo los fideos hechos a mano, mucho mejores que los de los restaurantes Lao Chai. Como era tan difícil conseguir reservas en Fenglinge y Longjuxiang, la recepcionista me dijo que Longjuxiang ofrecía servicio a domicilio, así que pedimos y comimos allí, ¡sin arrepentimientos!

¡Esta experiencia de estancia fue realmente genial! El ambiente del B&B es muy cálido, las habitaciones están limpias y ordenadas, y el diseño es muy único, dando a las personas una sensación de hogar. El anfitrión fue muy amable. No solo nos comunicó los detalles del check-in con anticipación, sino que también nos recomendó lugares de interés y lugares de comida cercanos. Fue como un amigo atento. La ubicación del B&B también es muy conveniente, con transporte conveniente a su alrededor y se puede llegar a muchas atracciones y restaurantes a pie. Nuestra habitación era absolutamente fantástica: espaciosa, cómoda y con acceso directo a una sala de juegos. Nuestros hijos estaban encantados y nosotros pudimos relajarnos sabiendo que jugaban felices cerca. La distribución era perfecta para nuestra familia, permitiéndonos descansar sin descuidar a los pequeños. Liu, en particular, fue increíblemente amable y atenta durante toda nuestra estancia. Se desvivió por ayudarnos, incluso organizando un traslado sin contratiempos a la estación de tren al momento de nuestra salida. El hotel en sí era excelente: moderno, limpio y muy cómodo. This hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is! The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup. The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained. Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!

Nos registramos en el Hotel Datong Wangfu Supreme el 7 de septiembre. El hotel tiene una ubicación excelente y un transporte conveniente. Las habitaciones están limpias y ordenadas, el ambiente es cómodo, la decoración es exquisita, las instalaciones son completas, la ropa de cama es suave, el baño está seco y los camareros son cálidos, atentos, proactivos y considerados, especialmente Liu Yunhua y Yu Hongwei, quienes son muy atentos y entusiastas.
