We found The Cresent to be a little tired. But then we found out that it had changed owners 6 day’s prior. So yes it is a little tired, but he was very helpful and informative. The rooms are what you would expect at this price point. They are tired and dated, but warm and we slept well. The breakfast was a let down but again for the price what do you expect.

The Galtres... A perfect place to stay in York. Location is great, central, surrounded by pubs, shops, bars, restaurant, a few steps from York Minster, couple of minutes walk to the Shambles, 13 minute walk from the train station. Our room was spotless, checking in was easy, arrived 3 hours early, but room was ready so accessed that straight away. Little bit quirky, I guess no two rooms the same, old fireplace, massive mirrors and a Wimbledon wicker basket at decor. Breakfast was amazing, gorgeous food, great selection and waiting staff always happy to help. Didn't eat there at other times, but the restaurant always looked busy inside and out. Two minor faults, could have squoze a small dressing table/desk into the room, and be prepared for a small amount of noise in the morning with delivery vehicles around, not a big problem though. I would definitely visit again, and recommend anyone visiting York to look at this place as somewhere really nice to stay.

Amazing location including a balcony over the river (from the hotel bar). The bedrooms were nicely decorated and in reasonable condition. There were no drawers for clothes and the wardrobe had no doors, there were just open shelves and open hanging rails with some coat hangers provided. There were several Yorkshire teabags and instant Nescafé coffee sticks (with sugar and milk) provided, and gourmet biscuits. The WiFi was fast. Plug sockets (including USB) were available by the bed but there were no sockets next to the bed. There is no air conditioning but fans are provided. The bathroom was in very poor condition with rust, mold, a very loud extractor fan and a light that took a long time to turn on. Water pressure was excellent however. Breakfast was a typical Full English buffet with sausages, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, tomato, fried bread and hash browns. Cereal and pastries were also available. You do need to reserve a breakfast time each day. My room was cleaned daily during my stay with tea/coffee/milk/biscuits replenished

La habitación tiene un tamaño decente, con una ventana que la hace espaciosa y luminosa. El baño es un poco pequeño. El personal de recepción es muy amable. Hay taquillas de metal debajo de las camas para guardar cosas, fáciles de deslizar. Una maleta de 20 pulgadas cabe y se puede abrir dentro, pero no tienen cerradura, así que puedes traer la tuya. Incluye un desayuno sencillo pero práctico. Aunque el check-in es a las 15:00, pude hacerlo a las 14:00.

Beautiful old pub located on the main road into York from the south. Car parking at the rear. Takes about twenty minutes to walk to the Minster and the route takes you past Clifford's Tower & The Shambles. The room was very clean & tidy, decorated simply & tastefully. Shower was hot and efficient. We slept well although we prefer a firmer bed. The pub is on a main road but it was quiet during the night & we weren't disturbed by visitors to the bar (we stayed on a Thursday). Good beer, I had a pint of Wainwright's Gold. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay again, much better to support a local business like this than the big brands. My wife is Chinese and wanted a Chinese breakfast, we found a place called Noodle Lane about ten minutes walk from the hotel, it was expensive but authentic.

Amazing customer service, very comfortable bed, all clean. Although it was a small room, it felt very cozy and the house feels like you are a guest visiting a distant relative. The view was gorgeous and great location too!

The room I booked is a family room. Spacious. In addition to a king size bed, there is one more single bed on the side. Room is clean and staff are friendly. Location is close to the city centre, within a few minutes walking distance. Next to the hotel is a restaurant. You have all you need nearby. However it doesn’t provide parking and WiFi comes with a charge. I chose this hotel because it says parking is available on Trip.com. But it turns out not. This part Is a bit disappointed.

Tuvimos una estancia encantadora en Diamonds Inn. Reservamos la Suite Estándar, una habitación de tres camas con baño privado, ubicada en la última planta del edificio. Una habitación familiar compacta y acogedora, ideal para un grupo de amigos o familiares. Cuenta con todas las comodidades básicas, incluyendo toallas, champú y gel de ducha. También dispone de hervidor eléctrico, cafetera/tetera, secador de pelo y una pequeña nevera. Las camas son suaves y cómodas. Las paredes son finas y puede que se oigan las voces de otros huéspedes en los pasillos durante el día, pero no fue un problema durante nuestra estancia; después de las 22:00 reinaba la tranquilidad. La ubicación es muy conveniente, a un paso de una de las famosas entradas a la muralla, un pub y un restaurante justo enfrente, y la Catedral de York. El anfitrión fue encantador y amable; nos llamó para preguntarnos si podíamos hacer el check-in antes de la hora prevista y accedió encantado.

You have to call to ask for it. If you are a foreigner and do not have a local number, the call fee is very expensive. The staff's accent is not British or American, which is very difficult to understand. I could not understand the numbers until a neighbor came to help me listen. Overall, it is not okay.
