Hôtel Shediac

I would not return to this hotel without their being significant upgrading of the staff. The physical plant is quite nice with large rooms with balconies, many looking down to the water a few blocks away. The problems we encountered involved personnel. The desk clerk had no idea about the area and said she was new, so I asked to speak with the concierge. She did not know what a concierge was (and this is an area of Canada where French is the primary language). Essentially she had no idea about anything. So I asked to speak with the manger on duty, who was equally ill informed. When I made a comment about how surprised I was that they we guest-facing and seemed to know nothing they got very angry and huffy and unpleasant. Then they only service the rooms every five days without special arrangements, which we thought would be fine but we did expect to have towels and glasses replaced. Nothing. The breakfast room closed at 9am, which from our travel experience is incredibly early, but it's probably our fault for not asking specifically. It was a nice place but in my view run entirely by amateurs who could not respond to the most basic questions and concerns. Being as I am a spoiled traveler, I would not return under these circumstances.

Great rooms although the view from the front wasn't as good as ours at the back. Comfy beds, pleasant and helpful reception staff and all you could need although it would have been nice to have some complementary water when we arrived. There is free parking though and the hotel is located in a good position nit quite in the centre of town but close enough to walk there.

The hotel was very clean , and comfortable. Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Just felt really comfortable , and the restaurant was really amazing as well . Great overall experience. The family enjoyed the pool as well , overall it was a great experience. Won’t be disappointed

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Shediac for 2 nights and we were extremely impressed with everything about it! Very upscale and modern, No carpet at all! The bed was super comfortable and clean! The patio off of our room was an added bonus to sit out and enjoy morning coffee made right in our room! The staff were very friendly and helpful! We are already looking forward to our return next year!

Beautiful property. Staff were great. Had a problem with our ******* booking but staff were very helpful and managed to find us a room.

We stayed on the business level and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant was exceptional. Just a tiny little dive but they have a great chef. There is a little coffee shop in there too which was great for a quick breakfast sandwich. A little bit of a language barrier explaining the type of room we wanted, but it worked out in the end.

Very convenient and clean hotel. We stopped on our way to Nova Scotia. Sleepy town but fortunately the hotel restaurant was open and delicious. We had a spa suite with tub in the bedroom. The bathroom was very well appointed as well. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Hotel staff and restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We received excellent customer service when booking over the telephone as well as the front desk staff. Our room was beautiful & clean. We were so happy to have a balcony. This was our first time staying in Shediac. We will definitely be back.

We were happy when we stayed at Hotel Shediac a few years ago, but this time was not so good. You pay a premium price, and it is a beautiful hotel, but yet there is no housekeeping unless you contact the front desk to tell them you would like it. ( not even the little signs to put on your outside door knob) We did contact the front desk to ask to get our room done, left for the day, and when we got back in the evening, our garbages were not emptied, nothing, not even bathroom sink was wiped down, our beds not made up properly, basically just the covers thrown over, our used glasses were not taken and replaced, floors not swept ( there was dirt on the floor.) The night clerk was very good and looked after us when we complained, but when we checked out, the woman at the desk was unapologetic, said they were very busy and that this type of thing happens. Say what?? I told here well at this price it shouldn't!! Also, many places include breakfast at this price, but here you pay an extra $16.95 per person if you want a mediocre breakfast. No discount, no apology, oh well, will never stay there again.
