This is one of if not the best place we’ve stayed at over the years. The location cannot be beat. It’s right at the heart of Porto. Everything is walking distance. We stayed in the apartment with a great view of Porto Cathedral which is less than a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The owners Liliana and Carlos were so warm and friendly. They let us store our luggage before check in and gave lots of suggestions on what to see and do in and around Porto. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed for our 2 night stay. I enjoyed the port wine that they left in the apartment for us. There’s a bakery right next door and restaurants less than a hundred feet from the front door. We enjoyed sitting out in the balcony listening to street performers just around the corner while eating Pasteis de nata and watching the gorgeous view of colourful buildings and the cathedral at nighttime. We walked everywhere as this place is so central to all tourist spots. We will definitely recommend this apartment to our friends and family who are planning to visit Porto next year. The 1 bedroom apt in the back is well located steps from major attractions which is very convenient. It is small but well priced. I did suffer from loud noisy neighbors on multiple nights and reported this to her at 2AM on the website. She said she sent them a message but the noise continued for multiple days. I was so tired I could not enjoy myself. The walls are thin and the stairs are very loud. Do not rent on the bottom because you will hear everyone walking up the stairs. You will hear them on the balcony as if they are next to you. In spite of this bad experience, I tried to stay positive as I know the buildings are old so I wrote a positive review of Liliana's apt. I am now changing it because we only learned how the host really felt about us after we left. She never complained to us while we were there about anything. She waited until we left and then said we 'broke rules' but did not tell us what rules we broke. There is no printed list of rules but suddenly only after we left, we were guilty. She said we left the doors open, however the door to the apt automatically locks when closed. The door to the building could be left open by anyone and yet I was blamed for this. When I saw the review, I tried to resolve this directly but I received no response as of the time I am writing this. She smiled to my face but it was disingenuous. This is heartbreaking. She does not communicate well and then blamed me for another guests behavior.

Beautifully decorated and great location! Lilly and Carlos are so wonderful and make you feel like you’re family!
