After we encountered a bad experience with a desert glamping resort in Dunhuang, we were a bit cautious with Dune when we booked it. However, after I communicated with the manager in Dune via WeChat, I was more confident as he was very polite and helpful. He helped us to booked a transfer from Turpan Airport to Dune resort. As our flight arrived Turpan in the evening, it was late when we arrived at Dune. The manager and another staff came to the entrance of the driveway to welcome us and helped us with our luggage. They took us straight to our tent, and they upgraded us to a bigger tent, too. We woke up to this beautiful Kumtag Desert Sand dunes, right in front of our tent! It was so beautiful. As the off peak season started, we were the only guests there but the staff were serving us with delicious breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! The manager and staff were very attentive to our requests. One of the staff has helped us to arrange a local guide/driver to take us to the Kumtag desert for an exciting ATV ride and sand sliding. We had a great time. We ended up hiring the same guide, a pleasant and calm Uygur young guy to take us for some sightseeing and dropped us back to Turpan. I would say to anyone who is looking for a real desert glamping, please come to Dune in Shahshan near Turpan instead of Dunhuang.

Our excitement started, from the moment, we met the staff at turpan train station, very gentle, n warm.. Then arriving at the lobby, full of warmth north Wellington smiles, of staff, then the welcome water melon n the melon, helped us release the tensions of train ride,.. Then the comfortable, lodges, ( 2 lodges A frame , very comforting, the breeze n singing birds n 2 big pots of herbal tea with fragrant flowers, n rose,..lots of dried fruits, resin, figs n more,, later on, in evening the refreshing, melon n watermelon, , later in evening free coffee n chocolate cakes,,.. Breakfast, simple n enough for a day of activity, all the items for dinner raglan, n fried vegetables, n kebabs, , one of the best as long as I remember in recent years.. Thanks to the English speaking staff for organizing our trip route n selecting transportation.. Staff thanks for helping me find the best barber for my haircut,, which busy schedules , back home in Japan Warmth n professionalism of staff are much more than our payment .. We had to extend our stay twice,..we already missing the place.. Thank you thank you

Shanshan is a small town and if you do come here, it would be to visit the Kumtaq desert. The desert is 15-20 minutes from the hotel, so is the Shanshanbei railway station. I recommend this hotel because of the service of the front desk staff, Ms Xiaoba who goes above and beyond to help. She was responsive on wechat and organised a car to pick us up, she willingly booked a taxi for as we couldn’t find the address to the night market on our DIDI app., she provided extra water and answered any questions with a smile. This is a new hotel so looks clean and fresh with a smart toilet. They even have tents/ tepees so if you have a kid, this is a welcome. I saw a room with spiderman and Barbie princess theme too. The breakfast has many Chinese options and they are well cooked and delicious. They do have a coffee machine. I’d stay here again if I were to revisit. Kumtaq Desert is worth a visit and the second golf cart/sightseeing mini bus drives you right to the end and brings you back to the second station. The other deserts we visited didn’t have this. 這次入住體驗真的超出預期，從辦理入住到退房全程都很舒心。前台工作人員態度熱情有禮貌，辦理速度快，還主動介紹酒店設施和周邊情況，服務特別貼心。房間乾淨整潔，採光通風都很好，床品柔軟舒適，一覺睡到天亮，隔音效果也不錯，完全聽不到走廊噪音。衞浴乾濕分離，熱水出水快，洗漱用品品質在線，細節做得很到位。 酒店環境安靜雅緻，公共區域乾淨明亮，電梯和走廊都沒有異味。早餐種類豐富，味道可口，熱菜、麪點、水果、飲品一應俱全，吃得很滿足。地理位置便利，出行方便，周邊配套齊全。整體性價比超高，服務、衞生、環境都無可挑剔，不管是出差還是旅行都很合適，下次來還會選擇這裏，真心推薦給大家！

本來衹是隨便訂的，沒想到意外舒服，小木屋的氛圍太戳我了，暖黃燈光和木質牆面很温馨，床也很好睡，躺上去就不想起來了。在露台吹吹風看看風景，感覺整個人都很放鬆。套餐裏的接送和門票也很實用，不用自己再額外操心，省了不少事

The Baoju hotel is located near the middle of town within a short driving distance to the Kumtag desert facilities. The staff were very friendly. Although they could not speak English, they made every good effort to meet all of our needs. The hotel is located in a strip of small businesses and restaurants. It even is directly attached to a convenience store so you don’t need to leave the building for those small necessities. Our stay was pleasant and restful.

La habitación era espaciosa. Reservamos para 3 personas. Pero nuestra habitación estaba en el primer piso y justo al lado de la carretera principal, por lo que era muy ruido durante toda la estancia. Puedes intentar y solicitar la habitación superior en vez de si hay disponibilidad. Estabamos una noche en esta estadía. Es muy limpio y moderno. Hay una zona turística muy bonita cerca y un río. El nivel de ruido de la noche que nos quedamos fue bastante alto por unas pocas horas. Desde los hoteles cercanos creo que hay muchos con bares. Nuestros niños fácilmente dormiron a través de la música y cantar, pero nosotros adultos no lo hicimos. El ruido se detiene a medianoche. Esto fue un tema recurrente en algunos lugares que nos quedamos sin embargo en Xinjiang. Hora de verano os tiempo de fiesta fpr muchos turistas sin familias. En todo esto es un gran lugar limpio para quedarse con un servicio excepcional.

This is quite an old hotel that recently got a new management by Rezen who introduced some small refreshes to the property. But the hardware remains old. Lots of electric and drainage problems. The good thing is that the location is excellent, opposite the dinosaur museum and with plenty of food options and shops around. The Kumtag scenic area is 6 kilometres away. Another good thing is that the mattresses are new a d the bedsheets clean. The reality is that this hotel needs a complete costly overhaul which is unlikely to happen with the fierce hotel competition in Shanshan and relatively low hotel rates. Overall it was ok

No podría estar más contento con la estancia. Llegué temprano por la mañana a la estación de tren de Turpan y el dueño me permitió registrarme antes de tiempo sin ningún problema. Súper conveniente teniendo en cuenta el agotador viaje en tren nocturno. El dueño también tuvo la amabilidad de organizar un conductor para una excursión de un día. ¡La zona es increíble! Al lado hay una frutería local donde se puede comprar todo muy barato. Compré una sandía grande (de temporada) y el dueño me prestó un cuchillo para abrirla. ¡Deliciosa! La habitación es genial; bien equipada, limpia y ventilada. El único pequeño problema fue con el baño, donde el agua no drenaba lo suficientemente rápido, así que hay que ducharse con cuidado para evitar que se desborde en la habitación. En general, fue una estancia que superó con creces mis expectativas. El dueño fue muy amable y servicial.
