Tajaa Pha The Heritage Home

To be away from home for six weeks can be tough. But to stay and live at the Tajaa Pha heritage home, it feels home away from home. I have had the best time here at Tajaa Pha. Shailendra and his family had been so welcoming and has become my second family here in Nepal. I have always felt safe. Good view, room and breakfast. I will come back.

Just the friendliest place to stay! Family run and close to the beautiful Pimbahal pond. With a spectacular view from the rooftop. And the most generous host and his family running the hotel. Great varation in breakfast. Close to fascilities and tourist attractions.

The hotel is centrally located in Patan. However, it still feels calm and secluded. Delicious breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. Comfortable beds, perfectly fine bathroom facilities. Extremely friendly and helpful hotel owner and host. Great value for money.

I stayed in Tajaa Pha for 10 weeks while researching and studying - couldn't be happier with the hospitality and stay. The rooms are well kept and requests like fans, buckets, etc. are available upon request. I got to stay on both sides of the building, and the view from each is exceptional. The staff feel like family and created a wonderful space to not only stay but learn about the culture. And the kitchen is a great place to cook up something to eat! I would certainly call Tajaa Pha a home away from home:)

I stayed at Tajaa pha for 10 weeks in the fall with my study abroad program and I really enjoyed my time here. Shailendra and his wife are so welcoming and amazing. They helped me figure out the best things to do in Kathmandu and Patan and also helped me with the boring stuff like my Nepal phone service. They are committed to providing great service. Also, they have super STACKED breakfast with Newari Bara, eggs, potato, tea, and juice. I feel so blessed that they were willing to share their Newari culture with me! I also spent Tihar with them and it was super special. The lights they hung up were so beautiful. Thank you so much Tajaa Pha. I hope to come back soon!

The location is amazing. lt’s convenient for exploring old Patan. I had a healthy and tasty breakfast every morning on the rooftop patio. I really enjoyed my stay with the owner Shailendra and his family at Tajaa Pha. They were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this home to everyone, and I will certainly come back again.

Shailendra and Amrita provided exceptional hospitality during my stay. Eleven classmates and myself stayed at Tajaa Pha during our study abroad program from September - December. They were very accommodating and this stay has become a home away from home for many of us.

I stayed at Tajaa Pha for 10 weeks while studying in Kathmandu. It truly felt like a home away from home. Shailendra and his family were extremely hospitable and kind, and they looked after me and my classmates during our stay in Nepal. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with amazing landscape views of the mountains. The shared kitchen on the top floor was fully equipped with all the amenities, and I enjoyed going upstairs and cooking with my classmates and socializing with other guests. Can't recommend Tajaa Pha enough, I'm sad to be leaving!

100% Recommend! I stayed here for a while and had the most wonderful stay. Amazing hospitality, super clean and spacious rooms, and the loveliest hosts. I could not have asked for anything better. The location is a fantastic balance between centralized near lots of shops and restaurants while also feeling homey and residential. Shailendra is a great host, he did everything possible to make us have the best stay possible and was always so friendly. Practically speaking, there are great features about Tajaa Pha. It is very structurally sound in case you are worried about earthquakes (certificate of inspection in the lobby). Also, filtered water is provided in both bottles and a large filter in the communal kitchen. Each room has a large mini fridge. Simple toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toilet paper are provided. A laundry service is also available. The beds are very comfortable. Some cool features are the communal kitchen (stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, utensils) and the rooftop (great views of Pimbahal Pokari square and the mountains on a clear day!).
