Outstanding Luxury Experience – New Year Celebration (31 Dec 2025 – 1 Jan 2026) I stayed at this hotel to celebrate New Year from 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from all the staff. Every team member was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating, making us feel valued and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel truly feels like a palace. Based on my personal experience, it is much better and more luxurious than Sokha Sihanouk Hotel and Independence Hotel, where I usually stay. It even offers the same level or more luxury than Try Palace in Kep. Every detail reflects quality—from the door handles to the bed, everything feels premium and well-designed. All facilities and equipment are modern, luxurious, and very clean. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, including a separate bathtub, shower/steam room, and toilet, which made the stay even more comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was the generosity: • Soft drinks and fresh fruits were plentiful and completely free • The breakfast for special for the New Year celebration, breakfast manu • They even offered free breakfast for my two children, even though they were over the usual free age limit — a very kind gesture The location is perfect, with what I believe is the best beach in Sihanoukville. The sand is incredibly clean, smooth, and soft—like ground powder—and the beach area is well maintained. I accidentally took their room key, the hotel staff were extremely understanding. They were not upset at all and kindly allowed me to return it on my next visit to Sihanoukville, which shows their trust and professionalism. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It is far more luxurious than Sokha and Independence Hotel, and easily ranks among the best luxury hotels I have stayed at in Cambodia. I will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true luxury experience, especially for special celebrations

Tuvimos la mala suerte de viajar en temporada baja, lo que en Koh Rong significa que llueve un 99 % todos los días. Por las conversaciones que hemos tenido con los lugareños, son plenamente conscientes de ello, pero todas las reservas y actividades siguen como siempre, pero no se pueden disfrutar, como el esnórquel, el barco con barbacoa, etc. Debido al tiempo, estuvimos atrapados en el hotel el 90 % del tiempo. NO hay televisión (dice que hay servicios en la habitación, lo leí demasiado tarde), así que tenlo en cuenta, especialmente si viajas con niños pequeños. La piscina no es una opción debido a las tormentas y los relámpagos. Cuesta 15 USD llegar al hotel desde el muelle. No hay cajeros automáticos en la isla, solo un puesto que te permite usar tu tarjeta para pagar a los locales y luego te dan el dinero, que se cobra al 8 % 😡 Esto es importante porque, por falta de conexión a Internet, no siempre puedes usar la tarjeta para pagar en el restaurante tus almuerzos y cenas; además, cuando puedes, hay una tarifa del 3 % para hacerlo. Todas las actividades también deben pagarse en dólares estadounidenses, pero no se aceptan billetes viejos y desgastados, incluso si te los han dado otros comerciantes de la isla o si los billetes se mojaron un poco con la lluvia, lo que era un problema frecuente. Así que ven con muchos dólares nuevos o te encontrarás con pocas opciones. La noche antes de la salida, le pedimos al personal que avisara a la compañía de ferry que tomaríamos el ferry de las 9:30 a. m. a Sihakouville (según las instrucciones de la compañía de ferry). Reservamos un viaje de regreso a las 9:00 a. m. al muelle como se recomendó. Sin embargo, cuando llegamos, el ferry salía a las 9:15. No éramos los únicos que nos quedamos atrás. Algunas personas tenían que tomar un vuelo más tarde ese día y se les hizo pagar otros 17 USD por persona, ya que según ellos era ”imposible” acomodarlos en uno de los barcos casi vacíos de una de las otras muchas compañías de ferry, porque no trabajan juntas, algunas familias pagaron hasta 70 USD para no perder su vuelo a pesar de que no era su culpa. El hotel era estándar para un hotel de playa, lindas cabañas, las camas estaban limpias y eran cómodas y lo más destacado fue definitivamente la comida en el restaurante. Durante los 4 días, probamos muchos platos, todos deliciosos. Puedo imaginar que durante la temporada soleada debe ser un lugar hermoso y un hotel hermoso. Dicho esto, ya pensé que era demasiado caro para temporada baja en comparación con hoteles similares en Tailandia y Bali, así que para mí el precio que pagarías en temporada alta no lo consideraría, especialmente dada toda la experiencia con el ferry y los dólares. ☹️

Wow! This is it. Luxury at an affordable price. Breakfast buffet is definitely worth it and included wide variation including western foods for the kids. Very clean, very friendly staff. A diamond in the rough. Highly recommend.

White Sand Ark Resort – A Peaceful Escape with Exceptional Service I recently stayed at White Sand Ark Resort, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. 🌊 Location: The resort is perfectly located right by the beach, offering stunning ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s ideal if you’re looking to relax away from crowded areas while still enjoying easy access to the sea. The natural surroundings make it feel like a private escape—especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset. 🤝 Service & Staff: What stood out the most was the warm and attentive service. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and well-organized. They made us feel welcomed and cared for, which really elevated the entire stay. 🏡 Overall Experience: The resort offers a calm, comfortable environment—perfect for families, couples, or anyone needing a break from busy daily life. The combination of a great location and dedicated staff makes it a place worth returning to. ⭐ Final Thought: If you’re looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway with excellent service and kind, professional staff, White Sand Ark Resort is definitely a great choice.

The Sokha Beach Resort is an old fashioned 5-star resort hotel in colonial style, situated at the beachfront in Sihanoukville. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are well maintained and are spacious with a balcony . There is a nice nice swimming pool with sufficient sun beds. A good continental breakfast is served. WiFi was working flawless, even at the pool area. However, there are points that made us shorten our stay. The private beach of the hotel is clean daily. Unfortunately; this is not the fault of the hotel, waste water of the city is discharged untreated into the bay so that the water is yellowish, probably contaminated with human waste. There is an unpleasant foul smell everywhere. During day time, permanent noise from a big construction site right next to the hotel is incommoding . In spite of the pleasant big park that belongs to the hotel, the surrounding next to the resort is spoilt by high rise buildings of which some are still under construction or are half-finished. They intend to be mostly casinos. We found this environment unpleasant. No good, typical restaurants could be found in walking distance. Altogether Sihanoukville is a dire place for vacation, unless the visitor is in gambling and casinos.

La casa de baño es muy agradable, pero no es muy agradable. Contra: Nos quedamos 3 días 2 noches y en nuestro 2o día, le pedimos que nuestra habitación esté limpia. También tenemos cena en nuestro segundo día y preguntamos si podemos conseguir el agua. El restaurante no tiene agua gratuita. Sólo venden botellas de agua que tenemos que pagar. Si queremos obtener agua gratuita, tenemos que conseguirla del receptor y no del restaurante. También no ofrecen una pad femenina. Debemos comprarla fuera y es muy lejos si queremos comprarla. No hay muchas opciones de restaurante.

I got a good offer through trip.com. For this price , I cannot complain . The room is spacious . Nice Pool area . Noise is a little issue , I could hear every word of my neighbors .I could even hear my neighbor snoring . sound isolation is very poor . one night , I guess my other neighbors complained about me , having the TV running on moderate volume , they were banging on the wall . But my TV was really not loud , no music , only watching news . Another thing is the pool area . The area is big , pool is nice and cold . Sunbeds are in the shadow though from morning until afternoon , cause the building itself is blocking the sun . And pool area should be a place to relax , enjoy peace and quiet in privacy . But there is constant coming and going of staff , using the pool area as a link from motorbike parking to hotel building . There is garbage to transport out of the building , laundry , deliveries are made through the pool area . Staff are coming and leaving . If you are lying there , belly exposed , you want to have a minimal level of privacy . But you'll have fully dressed people walking beside you every other minute . you will find no quite relaxation , the vibe feels more like a train station . The hotel should have built a separate service corridor for staff and deliveries next to the pool area .security is using the seating area next to the pool to have a long conversation on his walkie talkie . Sometimes there is music playing from the bar at the pool . But it's not that some clever mind designed a suitable playlist of background music .it seems like whoever is working at the bar can make music using their personal smartphone . Music gets stopped in the middle of a song , to chose a different song . Sometimes you hear a notification sound cause the phone received some message . The music gets turned off and and on randomly. No place to relax . The photos were taken in a time span of under 10 minutes Balcony was cleaned only once in my 3 weeks stay . For me personally no big deal , but in an hotel that charges 45$ or more , I would expect a little more care .

Este lugar es muy viejo y deteriorado. Hay una razón por la que es más barato. La cama es muy incómoda. Muchas de las tumbonas de playa están rotas y no hay suficientes sombrillas. La comida es buena, pero cara en comparación con otras opciones en el pueblo. Me picaron pulgas en este alojamiento. Quizás por todos los perros y gatos que hay. Ah, y además, los perros que ladran por la noche me ponían nervioso al salir. La comunicación con el ferry tampoco es buena. No hay actividades en este resort. Parece que no han hecho ningún esfuerzo en al menos dos años.

La bienvenida de Lyhour fue pésima. Tardó 48 horas, incluso con amenazas de quejarnos a Tripadvisor, en arreglar la estufa. La lavadora tenía fugas por todas partes. Tuvimos que solucionarlo nosotros mismos. El alojamiento estaba muy sucio (ver foto) y plagado de chinches (ver fotos), por lo que decidimos cambiar de alojamiento durante los dos días que estuvimos en Sihanoukville. Una experiencia que no repetiremos.
