What a lovely hotel! I usually opt to be closer to Gare du Nord but took a punt on Hotel Scarlett based on price and reviews and was not disappointed. Located on the top floor the room was quiet, comfy with big windows, a super comfy bed, a great shower and a minibar. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a cool seating and breakfast area off reception. Belleville is a busy vibrant area and there's plenty of places to eat and drink nearby with the hotel conveniently situated down a side street between two metro stations, Belleville (bottom of the hill) and Pyrenees (top of the hill). It's about 20 mins travel time to Gare du Nord and also an easy stroll from the hotel to Pere-Lachaise, Atelier du Lumiere and Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Would definitely stay here again and will also look at their sister hotels Hotel Clarisse and Hotel Bridget.

Location! Location! Location! This hotel is a short walk from not just metro stations, but multiple bus stops, many restaurants, clothing stores, and grocery shops. During my sadly short stay in Paris I had the privilege of staying at Hotel Verlain and got to meet multiple kind staff members. Our room was facing the street with tall windows that opened up to a small little spot you can sit on the edge of and just watch the day go by. On our first day we noticed a leak from the bathroom sink, and after notifying the front desk they offered to move us rooms or that the plumber could be there the next day. We politely declined the offer to a new room as the new room faced the courtyard instead. The next morning the plumber was in while we were out eating, and it was fixed by the time we got back. For the remainder of our stay we had no further issues. From the comfy bed, to the spacious shower/deep tub combo it was the perfect place for our trip. Hotel Verlain will be at the top of my list when I get to go back to Paris!

Hay algo en este hotel que te transporta a tiempos pasados. Me encantó la escalera de caracol, los graffitis en las paredes. Nos alojamos en la habitación urbana, que era minimalista, con secciones de tubos de hormigón para algunos muebles, cuadros de estilo callejero en las paredes y vigas del techo pintadas de rojo. La vista desde la habitación daba a una plaza que era fascinante ver a los distintos personajes a lo largo del día. cama muy cómoda, cuarto de baño decente. El desayuno se sirve en el sótano, pasando por más graffitis en las paredes, me encantó. El desayuno es más al estilo tradicional francés, con pan y croissant servidos en una cesta, complementados con cereales y yogur. El personal fue amable y servicial en todo momento. Puede que este hotel no sea del agrado de todos, pero nos encantó. El ambiente y la ubicación eran buenos. Lo visitaría de nuevo.

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. My flight got delayed, so I arrived late to the hostel around 2 AM on the night of March the 10th ”My reservation was from the 9th, so no problem” I seemed to wake up the receptionist who suddenly got busy on phone but had done the check in procedures, I reconfirmed it's a bottom bunk bed ”due to a medical condition, I can't climb” he said Yes Yes.. My room is on the 5th floor, I was fine and asked if there's a lift, he said Yes Yes ”basically was busy on phone and didn't even listen to what I was saying” I went up ”no lift btw but it was okay” to find the bed assigned is on top, and there was only one person in the room! I went down again asking if I can take the vacant bottom bed, then he got mad!! No you can't, wait for my colleague in the morning to see if he can move you. I asked if I can stay at the reception till then, but no it's closed... So I will just stay here in front of the Reception desk I replied. I affirmed I had my request delivered for a bottom bed, there was only one person in the room, so why can't I just get any?! He got very mad; started to call me crazy, and then shifted to the ”I don't speak English” and saying Me NO ME NO ME NO... He then approached very very close waiving threatening with his finger ”saying we are not discriminating you”!!! What? Who said discrimination?!! Then, I started to film his attitude with my cell phone right away as it was that close it gets physical.. He panicked when I started to film and called the police on me and asked me to go spend the night in the kitchen!!! Unluckily for him, I can understand French pretty well but I only speak English... He asked the police to come because I was making a fuss and a scandal. The police arrived like 30 mins later, while me shaking and waiting in front of the desk as he vanished when I started to film. Very Unluckily for him, the police was very supportive to me and they spoke English... When I told them the whole story; they asked him to return my money as long as they didn't adhere to my request for bottom bed, it's a medical condition but he was so rude to them as well saying, It's not his problem! He refused to refund saying tomorrow in the afternoon I come back to his colleagues be refunded. The police stayed with me till I booked another hotel for the night and THEY SAID IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY RECEIVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PERSON but they can't file a case against him since it didn't get physical. While booking an alternative accommodation at 3 AM outside in the street, he called me in to give my money back!! This is a story I wanted to share, a story of lying, aggressive, and rude receptionist. Ah, and to the police; he stated that there's someone taking the bottom bed... While the key of the bottom bed was actually left on the check out tray!!! If you want ur days ruined and both yours physical and psychological health abused and tortured go to this place and deal with this man in particular. I dare their management

La ubicación del hotel es excelente. Está justo debajo de la Torre Eiffel, junto al río Sena, y está rodeado de muchos restaurantes y tiendas. También está muy cerca de la estación de metro, por lo que es muy conveniente para viajar. El personal de servicio del hotel también fue muy paciente. I stayed at this hotel for four weeks in June and July. My experience here was disappointing, starting from the moment that I checked in. My reservation stated that fees and taxes were included and the final amount to be paid at the hotel was shown. I reserved “connecting studios for 4 people” and I was charged an extra 210 Euros at check-in without being told. When I questioned this later, I was told that there is a tax of $2.50 per person per night and the reservation amount only included this tax for one person, so I was charged for the other 3 people at check-in. However, I was still overcharged. One person was under 18 and should not have been charged at all. Another person was leaving early. I was able to eventually get a partial refund because of this. When I chose this hotel, I was looking for one that had air conditioning, and this feature is stated on the website for the hotel. When we arrived, it was very hot in both rooms and the temperature cannot be adjusted in the room. When I tried to get the air conditioning fixed, I was told that the temperature cannot be decreased under 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 Fahrenheit). The temperature cannot be controlled from the room. Most of the time, it seemed that the A/C wasn’t even on, and I was so hot that I was sweating. I did notice that the temperature in the lobby was always much cooler than in our rooms though. If you are looking for a hotel with air conditioning, you won’t be comfortable here. The customer service varied greatly depending on who was at the front desk. Some people were great and some definitely were not. The rooms are only cleaned once per week, but I didn’t mind that. The hotel uses thin, papery mattress covers that seem to be disposable and continually slip off of the mattress. I found myself constantly trying to put the mattress covers and sheets back in place to avoid sleeping on the bare mattress. The covers tear very easily, which made it difficult. This was very annoying. Overall, our stay wasn’t horrible, but we didn’t enjoy this hotel and were happy to check out. I won’t stay here the next time that I am in Paris for an extended stay.

La habitación 311 tenía una zona de entrada muy agradable con un pequeño ataúd ideal para sus llaves y otros pequeños artículos y algunos ganchos de abrigo. El baño está a un lado y tenía una ducha abierta grande con sólo una cortina de ducha en mi habitación, que creo que era porque era una habitación con discapacidad. El baño era de gran tamaño, pero el suelo del ducha, que era un armario prefabricado, no se sentía como estaba bien atacado al suelo y tenía un movimiento justo. Eligi este hotel porque estaba más cerca del lugar que necesito para recoger mi coche alquilado y dado que el Open francés estaba en el momento de que mis opciones estaban limitadas y el hotel tenía estacionamiento pero como se puso de manifiesto no lo necesito porque había mucho de gratitud La habitación de la habitación era muy agradable, pero la habitación era muy buena.

Fuimos a visitar Disneyland y estaba súper cerca. Aunque teníamos bus gratuito, fuimos andando ya que en 15min estás en el parque. Está bastante bien, grande y limpio y muy amables en recepción. Por poner una pega quizá la calefacción..que era general un poco fría para mí gusto pero por lo demás muy bien. Un barrio precioso con un centro comercial muy cerca con todos los servicios. La Rer para ir a París a unos 20min andando por dentro del centro comercial..
