No me quedaré en los hoteles, pero vine a Ottawa para celebrar un kilómetro (kilómetro para los estadounidenses ;-) cumpleaños y decidí a aplastar un poco. ¡He pasado una hora a buscar algunos de los grandes sitios de viajes de Internet y he encontrado la habitación exacta promocionada en uno de ellos por $89! ¡Tras cerca de 10 minutos de los que miran en línea para encontrar la promo que estaba mirando, el supervisor del turno aprobó el partido! La habitación era muy limpia y cómoda, no había suficientes plugs eléctricos y el único disponible para plugs en mi teléfono celular y el ordenador estaba tan apagado que los cables no se quedarían en el plug. Muy buena experiencia. La ubicación está cerca de las montañas del Congreso y las iglesias y los museos de arte, especialmente conveniente, la cama es nueva. Stayed at the Novotel for a week in early Feb 2023 while attending a conference at the nearby Westin. I booked for a really low rate through hotwire. After a pleasant check in I was excited to come into a very large on the 8th floor with a separate seating area and a very large TV. Room was pretty clean although when packing up before check-in I found some items under the bed that did not belong to me. Location was perfect, right across from the Rideau Centre and the Westin/Conference Centre and within a short walk to the Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street and Byward Market. My only compliant is the walls must be paper thin as I could hear the ding of the elevator and conversations in the hall from my room. I was also there a four hour during a power outage in the evening. I assume the outage was unscheduled but there was a lot of confusion and no one at the front desk when it occurred. The hotel shares a building with a DND office which made it confusing leaving the building by the stairs as the stairway lead to a entrance that read ”DND property alarm will sound”, it took awhile to figure out how to exit by the stairs.

Meh. Not bad at all, but not great either. Given everything is self-service, I would expect they would pass on more of a cost savings. The price and quality is comparable to a Super 8. A little edge for one here, a little edge for the other there - overall pretty similar value - except everything at Sonder is self-service, like an AirBnB, and zero amenities. Given this, in the future when I'm staying budget, I'll look to Super 8 or similar. For example, I was travelling with family. You can only book one room at a time. After we booked I called a central number to ask if we could have adjoining rooms. At first he said he couldn't help at all since the room allocation is done by computer. After some light encouragement he did at least get us on the same floor.

We stayed in this hotel during our visit to Ottawa, surprisingly the rooms are quiet big. We got a twin queen size beds that could fit 4 people. There was a fridge in the room, which is a bonus. The bed was so comfy to my liking. The toilet was also huge and the shower was powerful. The cleanliness of the hotel and room was also good. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. Although, during check in there was some mistake from the receptionist, we requested few months ago a connecting room as were travelling with the family, but then she give the connecting room to other guest just 3 minutes upon we arrive. I think thats the only downside. There was a swimming pool in the hotel, but it's also under renovation that time. We were told we can use the neighboring hotels pool as complimentary, which few blocks away to walk. So we didnt use it. For the breakfast its not included on the prize, but you can purchase it in the hotel. It was actually a good breakfast and tastes good. There was a bar in the hotel which I recommend you try the Canadian beer its so refreshing and tastes good. The bar men even advise us places to visit on our next stop. I recommend this hotel, its so close to to parliament and tourist spots in Ottawa. Will definitely go back here in our next visit.

Our family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport between connecting flights so our expectation was not high. We always had good experience with other Hampton Inns so this was just an easy choice, assuming a known quality hotel and also close to the airport. The Good about this hotel - 1. close to airport 2. free shuttle (details to follow) 3. has a couple restaurants just across from the parking lot if you don't want to venture out too far 4. check-in was quick The Bad - 1. Free shuttle only starts at 6am so if you need to catch an early flight you'll need to find a taxi. In our case, we had to pre-book a taxi the night before because we needed to get to the airport at 4:30am. 2. The hotel shuttle was just a plain white van with no signs indicating it's for Hampton Inn. Driver was not in any kind of uniform and when I knocked on his window trying to inquire, he came out and yelled 'What's going on'. Well not exactly what I expect a hotel shuttle driver to identify himself that way. When I asked if he's from Hampton Inn the answer was yes. But in retrospect any random guy can give me the same answer and we just kinda need to trust that driver that he's a legitimate Hampton Inn shuttle driver. The whole short trip to the hotel we were wondering if we would end up getting mugged. Just not a good feeling and I think the hotel can handle this a lot better, how hard is it to give this driver an uniform with a hampton inn logo, or print a hampton inn logo on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard. At least something to make your shuttle and driver look a little bit more legitimate and make your guests feel a little bit safer. 3. As mentioned earlier we pre-booked a taxi to pick us up at 4:15am, turns out the front desk forgot to book it for us. When we got down to the lobby and looked for the taxi, that's when the front desk guy realized he forgot about it. So we waited for another 10-12 mins for the taxi to come. (taxi fare from hotel to airport was less than $20) 4. Not all electric outlets are working, in our room the one attached to the side table lamp didn't seem to work. Had to search high and low to have enough outlets to charge 4 phones and 4 apple watches. The Very Bad - The mattress was the absolute worse, I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that have mattresses that dip down about 2 inches and with no support whatsoever. I'm not a big person, but my husband is so the whole night I was sinking and rolling to my husband's side. All I needed was a few hours of sleep between flights and I could not get that because of the mattress. Tossing and turning the whole night and could not find a good position. My back was hurting the next day like I was sleeping on an absolute garbage mattress the night before. We did not use the free breakfast, coffee wasn't ready during our stay, no other amenities were used. The poor rating is given based on the fact that everything we needed for a short stay in this hotel fell far sho
