Only reachable by the Krippenstein Cable Car, which is 400 metres away, Gjaid Alm is set 1,740 metres above sea level, and offers rustic rooms with free WiFi and a restaurant. A sauna can be used against a surcharge.
Guests can benefit from direct slope-access and a small children's lift which is 10 metres away. A ski storage room is available on site. Ski equipment can be rented on request.
Surrounded by lush meadows and mountains, Gjaid Alm guest house features a sunny terrace with mountain views. The restaurant offers regional and vegetarian dishes in the dining area or on the terrace. Packed lunches are available on request.
Guests can relax in the on-site meditation room; participate in a Qi Gong class or a meditation weekend. Alphorn courses are also offered.
The Gjaid Alm is only reachable by cable car or in a 4-hour walk from Obertraun. It is not possible to reach the Alm by car. During summer guests can hike in the immediate vicinity. Lake Hallstatt can be reached within 8.7 km.

Wunderbare Berghütte in bester Lage. Praktisch direkt an der Seilbahn vom Krippenstein, dennoch aber einsam in einem Kessel gelegen. Freundliche und kompetente Hüttenwirte, die gerne ihr Wissen teilen. Immer einen Abstecher wert, wenn man auf Ski- oder Wandertour nördlich vom Dachstein ist.

Gjaid Alm ligt op een perfecte locatie: dankzij de kabelbanen kun je er makkelijk komen, terwijl je toch het gevoel hebt dat je aan het eind van de wereld zit (in de positieve zin van het woord). Je kan er uren wandelen door het bijzondere landschap zonder iemand tegen te komen. Er zijn veel mensen die hier alleen wat komen eten tijdens een wandeling, of er een nacht blijven tijdens een huttentocht. Wij gebruikten het een paar dagen als uitvalsbasis om wandelingen in de omgeving te maken en dat beviel prima! Het is goed om je te realiseren dat het een berghut is, geen hotel. Dus de kamers zijn klein en kunnen niet op slot, je deelt het sanitair en er is geen afgesloten douche ruimte. Maar alles is schoon, de bedden zijn heel comfortabel en hoewel er veel gasten waren was het ‘s nachts heerlijk stil. ‘s Ochtends word je wakker met het geluid van de koebellen en kun je zo aanschuiven bij het prima ontbijt. Ook het avondeten (in buffetvorm) is goed. Op zonnige dagen kun je heerlijk in de strandstoelen of op het terras zitten, genietend van het uitzicht. En op de koudere dagen is het binnen comfortabel warm en kun je lekker lezen of een spelletje doen. Het was onze eerste keer in een berghut, maar zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Die Preise für einen durchschnittlich großen Cappuccino in Höhe von 5,80 EUR plus 1 EUR extra für ein Glas Leitungwasser sowie für einen Topfenstrudel mit Sahne in Höhe von 7,90 EUR erscheinen - selbst für eine Alm - grenzwertig bzw, unverschämt.

Einmalige, perfekte Lage für Bergbegeisterte! Super Service, hervorragende Küche! Aufmerksame und sympathische Gastgeber! Wenn dann das Wetter noch passt, was will man mehr! Auch für Familien zu empfehlen!

Von der ersten Anfrage bis zur Verabschiedung lieferte die Gjaid Alm erstklassigen Service. Bernhard und seine Mitarbeiter waren so einladend, freundlich und hilfsbereit bei allem. Sie haben mir sogar ein paar schöne Schneeschuhtouren empfohlen. Das Essen war köstlich und die Aussicht war spektakulär.Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder dort übernachten. Herzlichen Dank an Bernhard und die Gjaid Alm!
