Well this has just become our family tradition now.. 9 years (barring the covid year..!) It started off just four of us now it's 6 of us and friends joined us this year so hopefully they'll join us next year too..! The food is always excellent, they cater for any dietary needs, the children are always well entertained, and the adults..! (One even got to sit on Santa's lap 🤣🤣) and its just lovely how the children get plenty of time to talk to and enjoy meeting santa without feeling rushed, santa was brilliant he chatted away to the elves the youngest brought, he thought that was excellent..! This marks the start of Christmas for us.. bring on the festivities..! 🎄🥳🎅

I made a large booking here for a few of my employees. My employees are not fussy and generally will stay anywhere as long as its clean and they don't share rooms. We really do not mind a dated hotel, in fact, a lot of the time they are more homely and nice for a longer term stay. This is not the case with the Amethyst Hotel. This hotel is absolutely filthy. They are also in complete denial about the state of their rooms. I quote ”your expectation of a room for this price is too high” In fact I would not even stay in this hotel for free. One of our rooms had a crack that ran from the bathroom to the hallway, it was riddled with a dark mould, and it smelt absolutely awful. The lights in the hallway were non-operational, the room walls were stained, the carpets were also filthy like they had never been hoovered or cleaned since the hotel's inception. The worst part of all was the smell though. It had an odd musky smell which filled your nostrils as you entered and got caught in the back of your throat, you can tell there is a serious damp issue here so any older guest / guests with any possible lung issues should avoid this at all costs. They never offered us any alternative and I could not force my men to stay there, so I was forced to book additional last minute accommodation at a great expense and headache. I brought these issues up with the hotel staff Nil Jackson who proceeded to tell me we were all wrong and that there was ”no smell” even when their own caretaker inspected the rooms with my employees together and agreed. I am not sure if Nil Jackson personally owns part of this hotel but she was so defensive over these rooms that I cannot imagine what her home looks like. Any other hotel in the world would have simply apologised and offered an alternative which I would have been more than happy with, but instead they choose to fight us over our comments and that it is our own standard which are the problem. I'd highly recommend actually reading the reviews and listening because even I thought ”it couldnt be that bad”

¡Fue un accidente que no tenían pistas sobre lo que estaba pasando! ¡La cena fue reservada para 7.30, finalmente comíamos todos por 10! Y digo que comíamos pero mucho no comía mucho! La comida era horrible! Pie de cama parecía comida para bebés con verduras congeladas mezcladas. Deslizar en una placa. No hay pistas sobre lo que estaban haciendo. La sabia del cliente no existe. No hay personal. Claramente no hay chef! Microondas comidas! La habitación estaba bien. Llanto. Tid. Caliente. Y cómoda. ¡Desayuno! ¡Caos! Cook incluso dijo que no esperaba tantos para venir al desayuno! Sólo huevos de microondas abrasados disponibles. Fuera de zumo naranja y cuando lo pedí tu actitud! ¡Personal rudo y no formado. No hay organización. ¡Fue doloroso ver y sangriento vergüenza!

I was just disappointed of the initial checkin as I got in my room my request was never made. Very simple. I ask the 2 single beds to be combined to make it bigger. But nope. The late checkouts despite of willing to pay extra was just as it is. I could pay an extra night if I have to if they said so but no. We were from night shift of work and finished at 7 am that we got to the hotel at 7:30 and after breakfast few minutes of rest then we slept off. We got a call at 11 telling us about the checkout and told them I have already asked for the late checkout for extra charges but its only for 2 hours. Nothing more. The attendant started banging the door telling us to checkout as she needed to changed the sheets and so on and so for. We find it really rude.

Pero, es en serio necesidad de una renovación completa. Las cosas que notamos. El baño no era bueno, la ducha antigua era difícil de operar porque los controles eran muy rígidos.
