We arrived here for a little break from Manchester, the place is stunning, remote and amazing views and grounds. Inside the staff are polite, welcoming and make you feel at home. Rooms are excellent and the food is top notch. I had the sirloin and it was easily the tastiest steak I've tried, plenty of little extras for free while we waited for food like fresh bread, and tasters. The chef here is great, service great, bar service great. Just couldn't fault a thing. Thank you and we will be back

We recently returned to Eshott Hall for the fifth time as part of our honeymoon, only to find a noticeable decline in the hotel's overall condition. The original room in the Stables, a familiar choice for us, was dishearteningly thick with dust, featured hairs in the bath, stains on chairs, and dirty carpets. The subsequent room in the main house wasn't any better, with dust, curly hairs in the sink and bath, dusty bed frames, lumpy mattresses, and more dirty carpets. It's evident that maintenance has been neglected over the past 18 months, both in the rooms and throughout the hotel's internal and external spaces. There was a lack of apology initially, but we hope to hear from the General Manager soon. Regrettably, this experience has led us to decide against returning to Eshott Hall. It's disappointing to witness a decline in quality and pride in a place we once held in high regard. On a positive note, we were able to secure a last-minute booking at Matfen Hall, saving our honeymoon from further disappoin**ent.

Our room wasn't in the main hall, but was a short walk away in a lodge. Floorboards creaked, carpets weren't particularly clean, and could hear other guests talking through the walls. The hall looked lovely, the grounds were beautiful. The barman, Adam, was a real star. I did feel like I should have brought some dogs, as there were dogs everywhere. Not so much fun with an allergy. Chairs in the library bar need re-stuffing. Also the first time ever I have had a processed cheese slice on a continental breakfast.

We spent three very happy nights at Eshott Hall where staff went out of their way to be helpful at all times. The room was spacious and very comfortable and food was excellent with plenty of choice. The location was good allowing easy access to places we wanted to visit in Northumberland, The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. We would happily return to Eshott Hall in the future.

Lovely hotel - reception staff very welcoming and friendly for such a fancy looking hotel. Room was lovely, very big and the window seats were a wonderful touch. Breakfast was quite bland and if you don't go down for the start time, there won't be any fruit/bread/pastries etc left. Overall though, the area and hotel (+grounds) themselves were beautiful and we're already planning a return trip.

Staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. Location is rural and very peaceful. Building and grounds are elegant and well maintained. Great place for a relaxing break in the country.

Once again another lovely two night stay here at the Eshott Hall Hotel. Staff are really friendly. It’s a beautiful hotel set in its own grounds with lots of history. Breakfast choice is good and tastes good too The evening meal we had. was also very good. Thank you Can’t wait to back sometime.

We could not have had a better place to stay. Eshott Hall is in the perfect location for a peaceful night after a busy day visiting local attractions eg Cragside, Holy Island etc. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and we were very well looked after. Lovely room, amazing bathroom and delicious food. Eshott Hall itself is also beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our whole experience. We will definitely be returning. Thank you 🙂

Two night stay for bed and breakfast was ideal location for exploring Northumberland coast and Alnwick area. Comfortable room in historic house in lovely very quiet surroundings. Excellent breakfasts and very good value overall. Situated not far from A1.
