Ya eran las 8 de la noche cuando llegué a Mauricio. Después de que terminé las formalidades, pude ver el transbordador en el aeropuerto. Tardaron unos 5 minutos en llegar al hotel. El hotel estaba limpio e insonorizado. Fuimos los segundos. Tianbao tuvo una excursión de un día y caminó muy temprano sin experimentar el desayuno del hotel y otras instalaciones. Es una buena opción de transición al aeropuerto.

Initially we booked 4 nights here with a plan to extend our stay or move on somewhere else. We were a bit concerned with some of the negative reviews but it definitely looked our sort of place - a small property with stunning beachside location that offered a limited facility all-inclusive. Well, we arrived after the 12 hour flight from London to be told they were overbooked and we’d been “upgraded” to their sister hotel, Preskil Island Resort (see separate review). Our brief view of Astroea Beach left us wanting more and so after assurances from Southern Cross that we would not be overbooked again, we decided to spend the remaining 5 nights of our Mauritius holiday here. Accommodation We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow and were allocated 205 which has a direct sea view and easy access to beach. It looks like rooms have been spruced up with comfy, but firm beds and a newish sofa in the lounge. There is a mini bar fridge, included on the all inclusive package (beer and soft drinks topped up daily). The bathroom had a new loo and washbasin but the tiles seem to be have been part painted in emulsion by a small child or visually impaired person. The grouting is pretty grim too. The electric shower is an instant Triton heater so water pressure is compromised . There is no hot water into the bungalow so I had to boil the kettle in order to shave in the wash basin, but this was no real hassle. There was an air conditioner in each bedroom which was effective, albeit noisy. Despite some poor decoration in the bathroom, everything was kept spotlessly clean. Food and Beverage We loved the small, part-open restaurant directly above the beach. Breakfast had a selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, bread etc with a toaster for the bread. There was a bean coffee machine if you wanted something different to the filter coffee and tea was served in a teapot, essential for us Brits. There was a number of hot items for order including great omelettes, eggs, sausage (chicken), bacon and crepes. Lunch was a good choice menu of salads, pasta, burger, fish and paninis. The choice of all-inclusive items was more limited and did not seem to have a logic as to why they were included or not, but we loved the fish “burger” which was actually a large fillet of sea bream. Dinner was 3 courses with a choice of 2 items for each course, which you selected at breakfast time. This was absolutely fine by us and avoided food waste. All food was freshly prepared (with love) and cooked to order from the tiny kitchen, so this could take time, which was absolutely no problem when you had the amazing view and you are on holiday. The all inclusive drinks were good for the price point. The wine was Cape Bay South African which was perfectly OK. Phoenix lager was on draft and there was even large glasses (0.6l). Double measures of spirits were no problem on request and there was a selection of cocktails. You signed for drinks and your meals at the end of each session. Beach and grounds Stu

En el hotel, el hotel está en el centro de la ciudad. El hotel dispone de 2 habitaciones para los huéspedes y también de aparcamiento en la calle. Caminado a Mahebourg lunes mercado- absolutamente masivo, vendiendo todo lo que podría pensar. Iniciar el check-in fue suave - pagado en efectivo (MUR). La habitación 202 tiene todo lo que necesita - cama, armario, nevera, cocina, cocina, sofá. Air con funciona muy bien. La televisión se ha apagado, pero tiene 2 puntos de electricidad para la caja de vista libre. Todas las sockets en la habitación son 3 puntos (estilo británico) por lo que asegúrese de que traiga un adaptador o no podrá ver la televisión. La dormadora es brillante - poderosa y alta temperatura. La decoración es ligeramente fechada y algunos signos de traer y largar, pero definitivamente recomendaría una buena noche de sueño, cerca del aeropuerto y muy barato! La piscina muy refrescada para una dip de la tarde, y la zona de piscina limpia con muchos lugares para refrigerar. Situación tranquila y tranquila con hermosa brisa. 5 minutos en coche de la playa de Point D’Esny - arena blanca y aguas claras. El desayuno sirve entre 8-9am. Bagueta fresca, té/cafe, jugo de fruta, plátano, yogur. Llenado y incluido en su precio de alojamiento nocturno. Ubicado en el sur del hotel Taihao, nos quedamos tres días para preparar un paquete para el desayuno y la cena. En primer lugar, el ambiente del hotel, el blanco en general, la gente se siente muy cómoda y hay un río en el hotel, por la noche hay cantantes cantando y remando en la cama, el paisaje es agradable, el ambiente en general sigue siendo muy cómodo. A continuación, digamos que el servicio no es muy satisfactorio ~ El servicio de recepción al principio nos hizo sentarnos y tomarnos la bebida en el check in. Está bastante bien, pero no funcionará después. Primero, la cama supletoria no se agregó hasta la noche. Más tarde, se recordó durante mucho tiempo antes de que se rompiera la tarjeta de la habitación. Se repitió tres veces antes de que se hiciera. Las pantuflas y las tijeras de los niños se agregaron al tercer día cuando se fueron. El servicio en general se siente. ¡No puedo alcanzarlo, no sé si es el motivo de la casa llena! Se dijo que la cena estaba disponible en los otros tres restaurantes y los resultados no estaban disponibles. Sin embargo, es bueno no recoger el oro. Una vez que estuvo completamente empaquetado en el restaurante, había mucho dinero en efectivo adentro. Más tarde, me dijeron que estaba en la recepción y me enviaron de regreso. Esto es digno de alabanza. Por último, habla de higiene. Después de lavar la tetera en la habitación, todavía sale mucha basura. Pensé que era un problema con la calidad del agua. Después de beberlo durante dos días, encontré un filtro dentro. El filtro está lleno de basura, realmente demasiado asqueroso, parece que la tetera debe usarse después del lavado. Las instalaciones de agua junto a la playa en el hotel son de alquiler gratuito, la costa es muy larga, hay dos grandes arrecifes, la calidad del agua es buena y aún así es muy divertida. El hotel está cerca de los delfines, por lo que es una ventaja a las 8:30 de la mañana.

El mejor hotel del mundo. Imposible no emocion**** recordando este increíble resort. Desde que llegas te adentras en un bonito sueño del que no quieres despertar. Todo está cuidado al detalle. El hotel es simplemente una maravilla, mires donde mires todo está impoluto. Gran mantenimiento y limpieza. Además de la impresionante belleza de este hotel ( para mí, el mejor hotel del mundo) lo más destacado, sin duda, es el personal que trabaja aquí. Nos han hecho sentir como en casa, en cada rincón, en cada lugar, encontrabas a una persona amable. En ningún lugar ni en ningún hotel hemos encontrado personal así. Mi reconocimiento para TODOS y cada uno de las personas que trabaja aquí, desde recepción, hasta restaurantes y personal de limpieza , gracias por vuestras sonrisas, amabilidad y por preocuparos de que todo estuviera bien, SOIS INCREÍBLES ♥️ Especial reconocimiento a Kailash , el chico que con el buggy y su inmensa bondad y amabilidad nos ayudó en todo. Gracias Kailash, volveremos pronto para verte. En cuanto a la comida, el resort dispone de una gran variedad de restaurantes dentro. En mi caso, la opción elegida fue media pensión y fue increíble. Buffet con una variedad enorme de comida. Además, una de las noches tuvimos una cena romántica que no pudo ser más INCREÍBLE. La playa del hotel preciosa y las piscinas también, nosotros hicimos uso de la piscina climatizada especialmente. En definitiva, no hay palabras suficientes para describir lo que sientes estando en este resort. Mis felicitaciones a la dirección de este hotel por la gran gestión del mismo y felicitaciones al personal por ser tan increíblemente buenos. This is one of the most difficult reviews I’ve given. We chose Salt based on its previous reviews but to be honest it didn’t quite meet them in our experience. It started really well, with friendly greeting and cold towel and drink. Room wasn’t quite ready but we’d been given an upgrade to a large second floor balcony beach view room. The room was lovely but this is a renovated old hotel and you can tell. Very comfy bed and nice touches with drinks bottles, beach bag, DAB radio and Dyson hairdryer. Comfortable room and didn’t miss the TV or mini fridge that usually accompanies this price point. We were All Inclusive but asked to chose whether we wanted lunch on our first day or our last day, this smacked a little of penny pinching and as we spent a day out on the road exploring the island, we didn’t eat lunch one day anyway. The food on the whole was great, anymore than a weeks stay would have become repetitive I think though. Some of the portions were huge, so huge it felt embarrassing to leave so much some days - remember this hotel has environmental aspirations. The staff were friendly with excellent English. Star of the show was Sanjeet behind the bar and restaurant. AI drinks choices were somewhat limited but the bar staff allowed you to play around and order your own ideas. Frustratingly the SALT APP didn’t work in several sections with a ‘forbidden or error’ message clicking on links, a quick scan of a QR code once discovered by staff resolved the issue but it didn’t really work as intended. The main gripe with the food especially in the evening was slow service, penultimate night was a 90 min wait and they forgot our starters so it all arrived together. The last night was 60 min wait and then it arrived cold. They dealt with the issue quickly and there were apologies all round. It was well handled by Sanjay, one of the managers. Lastly the pool and beach. Quirky remodelled pool area from older hotel pictures. There were enough sunbeds around pool and beach for all guests and everyone seemed sensible picking up their towels rather than booking a bed all day. There was plenty of shade and chilled water on tap, another nice touch was Aloe Vera and sun tan lotion available free of charge. The beach afforded a lovely breezy location, we used the free snorkelling trip three times and also the pedalo. Again friendly and help full staff. The only gripe around the pool area is that some of the free towels looked old and a bit grubby, the same can be said for the reusable water cups, they just don’t look as clean as they should. All in all it fell short of the five stars we were expecting, the slow food service, tired towels and cups, poor app functionality and somewhat limited food and drink choice. Make no mistake, the food is excellent and the service much more personal than a larger resort. A great five night break to the sunshine.
