Amanera

Llevo aquí una semana con mi hija adulta. Esta propiedad es exquisita en todos los sentidos. En tan sólo un par de días estábamos muy tranquilos, mientras que en otros lugares el proceso lleva mucho más tiempo. Las personas que trabajan aquí son las más felices y complacientes que he conocido. El servicio supera sus expectativas. Mi hija cumplió 25 años aquí y lo hicieron muy especial en muchos sentidos. Estoy muy agradecido. He estado en muchas playas tropicales en mi vida pero esta es, con diferencia, la más tranquila y hermosa. Rara vez vimos a otra persona en una playa de una milla de largo. El agua es de los más bellos colores diferentes de azul. Hicimos varias excursiones mientras estuvimos aquí: caminata hasta la cima de una montaña cercana, snorkeling/recorrido por cuevas, recorrido por el cenote local llamado Lagoon Dudu, que fue muy divertido, y pesca en alta mar. No pescamos ni un pez ese día, pero el personal a bordo fue muy profesional y disfrutamos estar en el agua. Las habitaciones aquí son espectaculares y más que espaciosas, por decir lo mínimo, y muy privadas. La piscina infinita principal tiene vista al océano y es una de las piscinas más hermosas en las que he estado. Normalmente la teníamos para nosotros solos. La comida en el restaurante principal y en el de la playa es deliciosa. Pregunta por el menú de comidas en la habitación si quieres algo sencillo. Pero es Aman, así que puedes pedir lo que quieras, esté o no en el menú. Y como es habitual en las propiedades de Aman, no hay controles de comidas individuales que ADORO. Además, nunca tuvimos que hacer una reserva para ninguna comida. Amangiri seguirá siendo mi propiedad favorita de Aman, pero ésta ocupa el segundo lugar. Claramente, la parte de la isla en la que se encuentra esta propiedad fue especialmente seleccionada por su aislamiento. ¡Es muy especial! ¡Gracias a todos en Amanera por unas maravillosas vacaciones!

Pros: Exotic Location Privacy : Few guests Beautiful Beach Friendly staff Beautiful Architecture of hotel Well maintained villas Cons: Limited Food Variety [ Just 1 full time restaurant. 2nd Restaurant is open for limited time and days ] Low quality hotel toiletries Ambiguous billing. No Cabanas on the Beach. Spa-Massage staff cut short the promised duration of the Massage. Even though there were no other next scheduled appointment. Wild ferocious dogs on other side of beach - very unsafe. Conclusion: Compared to the other similar Luxury High-end hotels we have stayed in, Amanera did not deliver the expected standard of service and experience.

The area is rugged and natural, definitely feel like away from everything. The lobby building is very big, lots of space, tall and open air, minimalist. There is a lot of staff who are all very friendly. The casitas are as expected for Aman, clean, unobtrusive aesthetics, very big. The outdoor spaces are very big too and a nice place to relax and enjoy the surroundings and oceanview. Beach club is awesome aerying. Quiet beach, big tall ceiling, open space. Breakfast at lobby building is good, beach club food is ok. Main reason for coming this way was to play golf at Playa Grande. The relationship b/w Aman and Playa Grande is confusing but hotel provides transpo to golf. Meals at Playa Grande venues were very good and contrast to quieter, elegant setting at the hotel. The gym at hotel has regular weights and cardio stuff and battle ropes, tires, TRX , rower on the patio. There is a yoga stretching platform out on the field. Nice place to chill out but not a lot to do around the area, a couple days visit was good for a weekend golf trip.

We picked amanera as our honeymoon destination… emailed them in advance to let them know and to inquire if we could have a specific casita. While the property wasn’t even at 50% capacity they didn’t attempt at all. We loved the property and the friendly staff. The food was okay in the main restaurant and much better at the beach club. I am disappointed at the management for not even doing anything special even tho they knew it was a honeymoon and a special celebration. There was no extraordinary welcome or at turndown anything special. What really bothered me is that we did a lot of the excursions and they really nickel and dime you …. A ceviche class gets 18% service fee and the gratuity added to it since it was hosted at the beach club kitchen. I would definitely not recommend doing their excursions as I feel like that’s where they really just stack it on. Also the package included all meals and they also don’t take into consideration the concept of not nickel and dimming there… when guests stay 5 nights have some common sense and definitely don’t make them feel they are okay getting taken advantage of... I would love to see if any of the other Aman resorts are similar or not?

Amanera Playa Grande is a joke. Don’t waist your money. Took a special flight to view the project. No more tables for potencial clients in the restaurant amymore.This tells a lot. Incompetente at the “highest” level. Not willing to buy in this project anymore.

We are the so called "Amanjunkies" and have visited more than 15 Aman Resorts around the world. Amanera is one of the best Aman Resorts for anyone to experience. The staff is amazing and super friendly, catering to everything we can dream of. This is done in the most Aman way, subtle and elegant. Thank you to the whole Amanera team for this most special experience.

We had a fantastic time here. It took about a couple days to calm down and start taking in the peace that surrounds you here but then you start relaxing and taking note of this natural beauty. No crowds. Saw about 10 people max in 4 days total. First night we were quite disappointed with the food. It was really nothing special and we complained about it as one would not expect this at an Aman resort. The next morning with breakfast Larry the GM came to talk to us and assured us we will not have any issues again. He was right. The food thereafter was fantastic and up to par to what one would expect here…amazing beach dinner BBQ, incredible breakfasts, fully customizable menus (oh the Rum is fantastic ) and outstanding service from the staff. Most of them locals. Elvis was exceptional and waited on us most of the time. Friendly, professional and genuine….ask for him when you are there….he is a fantastic server….Santos and Ana and Felix as well gave us such good service! Amazing beach surrounded by a lush tropical forest. It’s beautiful. We went horse riding which was also a nice experience and all was managed very well for us. I highly recommend Amanera. We will be back !

If you are already considering a stay at Amanera, just book it now and save yourself some time. It is going to be very hard to find anything comparable to the experience you will have at Amanera. There is a long drive from the airport to the resort, but the grounds are so breathtakingly beautiful that you will forget all about the drive within a few minutes of being there. The casitas are roomy and chic and the food is top-notch. There are plenty of activities available to guests, but you will be so relaxed and calm throughout your stay that you won't want to leave the grounds. But the number one thing about this place is the service. From the moment you get there, you are surrounded by people that are committed to you having an incredible stay. They pay attention and tailor their service towards your wants and needs. Just book it already! You won't regret it.

Big fan, though I swallow hard at the price. Visited for a long 3-day weekend. Peaceful, beautiful, felt as if it was nearly only us in the entire resort. Spectacular setting, architecture, layout. Typical Aman service, with everything as seamless as possible (e.g., you don't sign checks at the restaurant - you just come and go). Impeccable. The ocean was really rough - made it impossible to swim in the sea (the waves just pounded). Although the pool is spectacular. I think this was time of year related vs. "normal" but it restricted our enjoyment. We didn't really do much else besides eat, sleep, hang out and the pool and beach. People tell me the golf is great.
