Yiannis Manos Hotel Resort

I have never written a review for a hotel/restaurant or anything in my life but I really feel like I need to warn people ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE (girls/lads holidays) about this hotel. Me and 7 of my friends went to this hotel in July 2023 very excited for our girls holiday. As we got to the hotel it looked lovely and busy. Pool was great and cold and sunbeds were comfy so all fine there. We get to reception and is greeted by quite the miserable lady at front desk. We had to hand over our passports and we also had to pay for aircon in both of our rooms which was £8 a day I believe. We were in two rooms (4 in each room) the room I stayed in was on the bottom floor down a dingy corridor with no lights. We get into the room and we are highly shocked and disappointed. Although clean and tidy the bathroom was tiny with an awful shower which flooded the whole bathroom, the beds were quite comfy but the sheet was very small and barley covered your body. As we got into the room we soon realised our air-con wasn’t working so we told the lady at reception and she said a man will be out to fix it. ‘The man’ never came and we went back very upset as we were boiling. She then huffed and said he will be here tomorrow morning which was not okay as we were not going to sleep in a 30degree heated room. We asked to move rooms which was a huge problem for the lady but she did move us for 1 night. On our arrival she told us that we needed to be quiet coming back from the ***** as families stayed in the apartments. However we were not told that even the slightest bit of noise would result in getting us thrown out of the hotel. No where on the website or on any booking platform does it say you must be silent in the hotel and if you aren’t you will be left on the streets. If it did we wouldn’t have stayed there so maybe you should think about promoting that part. We arrived back at around 3am on the first night and we were not screaming, singing or being loud yet we had bangs on our door from the very scary security guard who would literally watch and follow you walking to your room (as young girls this was terrifying) to tell us we had a warning and anymore noise we would be kicked out. ( we were laughing and talking as you do drunk after a night out) This meant that every time coming back from the hotel we would be in silence to pray that we weren’t thrown into the streets for even a slight bit of laughter. We were literally so shocked at this and I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not! 2nd day in we returned to our original room. We had put food and drink in the cupboard/fridge space which was minimal yet we had thousands of ants in our room the following day. We asked the lady to tell the cleaners to please sort it out yet they didn’t so we did it ourselves. The rest of the holiday we knew what the hotel was like now so we tried our best to stay out as much as possible as it was genuinely such an awful atmosphere. Fantastic hotel in a great location, 15 minutes walk into the old town which is very traditional and absolutely beautiful. Our apartment was lovely, good quality bedding and spotlessly clean with beds changed and fresh towels every 2 days . The staff are so friendly and nothing is too trouble, Ellenie on reception is lovely and so helpful and Stefanos looks after you in the bar. I would recommend these apartments to anyone and we will.definately stay again

Just back from yiannos Manos. Had the best holiday thanks to the friendly staff and chilled out location. Can't recommend this hotel more highly. Staff very friendly. Food was amazing. I will definitely be back can't fault one thing.

We arrived mid afternoon. On first impression the hotel looked great. The reception lovely and traditional. The receptionist was a bit terse. Safes are in reception and cost over 40 euros for a fortnight. We didn't bother. I didn't think they looked very secure as the reception isn't manned all the time. We booked a twin but asked for a double. This was just the two beds pushed together. One slightly higher than the other. With a sheet that hardly covered both beds and kept coming off. The top sheets were 2 single sheets, which also kept coming off. The pillows were very lumpy and small and were only given one each. We had to ask for another one. Because the beds were pushed together the light switch on the wall behind the beds kept turning the light on if we moved in a certain way during the night as it was just behind the pillows along with the electric socket. Just one bedside cabinet, which I presumed was meant to go between the two beds. Not enough space for clothes for 2 people. I had to put some of my clothes in the drawer under the sink. Shower curtain does not go all the way to the floor so the floor got wet in the bathroom. The curtain sticks to you during your shower. Shower is great though. Nice and hot and powerful. Never ran out of hot water. Eventually we learned just to use the bathroom as a wet room and just don't even use the curtain. The floor soon dried out. Toilet roll behind the door on the wall quite strange. The door to the room has glass in it and there is a light right outside the door so it was very bright during the night. Could have done with a curtain on it. The curtains on the windows really thin also, so when the sun came up it got bright in the room. Air conditioning you have to pay 7 Euros a day for. We had a nice big balcony. With a table and chairs and also a clothes dryer which was very convenient. WIFI is non existent even through they advertise it on the website. It's just useless. We bought an unlimited data sim from Vodafone in the town to play our firestick on in the room and listen to music. The TV in the room was superb, nice and big. Excellent 👌 And had an HDMI slot that was easily reached. However, no English channel on it but it's Greece, there won't be. There is a fridge. A kettle which we eventually found under the sink along with the toaster. There is a cooker hood but no cooker. Above this, is there the plates, pans cutlery etc is kept and are stacked on top of each other. I couldn't reach so didn't really bother with it at all. The pools are fantastic, there are 2 of them. Lots of beds and parasols, kept nice and clean. Bar and restaurant ok. Food ok but they didn't have a few of the items on the menu as it was getting to the end of the season. You do get loads though. The Full English breakfast is good. Coffees very expensive 3.50 euros. Including Nescafé. Stefanos was a great bar guy. Our favourite. There are TVs in the bar constantly playing football. Which didn't bother us as we sat

i was nicely surprised after arriving here wondering what i’d let myself in for . staff here were very friendly , and helpful , gave us the benefits of local knowledge and advised us well . food was excellent and enough choice .. and lovely size portions . lots of nice and friendly places to eat out . hotel / resort had plenty of sun beds and parasols beside both pools and maid did a good job and was also friendly . nothing we requested was too much trouble and quickly sorted . only thing i could fault would be the shower in our room . but shower itself more than adequate it was just the curtain and fact shower could easily overflow ! a pleasant holiday with lots of good memories . my only regret not exploring more of crete , and would certainly return .

Big mistake, should have dined at the restaurant every day, food excellent well done chef. House keeping excellent, lovely friendly Albanian ladies, Everything about the hotel was spotless, Lovely receptionist dry Greek humour. Good size Pools and out door seating area, I would definitely recommend Yiannis Manos to every one. Just got back today 21/10/23. Very cold wish I was back in Yiannis manos

Hotel basic what you pay what you get,some rooms not moderate specialty bathrooms and kitchen areas!!…cooking facilities very poor including bathrooms!!…hotel rooms and showers need refurbishing!!…food not to bad eatable nothing special!!…drinking are expensive than Spain!!..beware of Air con safe luggage hold charges!!….no 24hr reception!!…wi-fi very poor….

Nice hotel clean and cleaners were in most days and nothing was too much.Staff at bar was friendly food was lovely an pool area clean. Only downfall was things advertised but nothing on BBQ night Bingo etc would have been nice to see entertainment on.

I have been to some really nice 3 star hotels but sadly this was not one of them. When we got there, there was nobody on reception so the security guard had to give us our room key. He barely spoke English and demanded our passports so this was quite scary. The next morning we get up and ask if there is any air con. We are told that we need to pay 51 euros for the week which we did as it was boiling. We also noticed that our room was not being cleaned every day which is a standard everyone wod expect as we only really wanted fresh towels. They told us that they cleaned the rooms every other day and that we were not allowed fresh towels under any circumstances on days where our rooms were not being cleaned. On the last day, we wanted our luggage to be kept in a safe place as our flight wasn't until the evening. The staff told us to leave our bags in a random hallway and they would be attended to. We did just that and when we went to collect them in the late afternoon, they were in exactly the same place and had not been touched. There is just no care or attention at this hotel. You feel like a burden for asking for the most basic of things. There was a barbecue advertised on many walls, as shown, and when we asked they advised us that they no longer provided that service. The food was OK. You get what you pay for but it was nice enough. The pool areas were clean and the sunbeds were comfortable. No problem there. 2 stars. Probably being too generous with that.
