Ideal for a 1-night stay on our way home from Southern France. You’ll have to drive about 10 min after taking the exit. Parking space is scarce, especially on Saturdays, but there’s a parking lot at about 5 min walking distance. Location is super nice near the river. Rooms are really small but the bathroom’s nicely refurbished since the first time we came there around 8 years ago. I particularly liked the shower. We had difficulty getting checked-in (the hotel uses DIY check-in after 9 or 10 pm) when we arrived at 11 pm. There’s a phone number you can call, but it’s quite hidden in the corner. They should communicate that more clearly. Also, when booking online after 10 pm via a broker (e.g. Agoda) you will always have to call that number, in order to be able to get access to your room via the DIY check-in. I’d recommend they communicate that more clearly either at the entrance or upon making the reservation online. We spent at least 10 min trying to check-in ourselves but in vain. Not easy when you’re extremely tired from a long drive. We had a minor hygiene issue when we arrived in our room, but I told them the morning after (and showed pics) and they made up for it in the way it should be, so next time we’d be near Mâcon, we would probably stay there again since the beds are quite good, and that’s what counts the most.

Tomó un grupo de profesionales del vino para un estancia de tres noches. Habitaciones de tamaño razonable quizás ligeramente jadeado pero cómodo. Muy adecuadas ducha y WC. Algunas habitaciones tienen vistas al río y hay una terraza y piscina muy agradables. This hotel looks unloved from the exterior so if you just drove past you probably wouldnt stop. However on the interior it is beautiful, plush, lots of art work and was very clean and tidy. We had a delux room with river view as requested although the windows are narrows. Even though it overlooked the main road ( where there was ample free parking) it was still very quiet. The decor of the room we would describe as a vintage feel, dark walls, artwork but very tastefully done. Just 50 yards away from the lovely town of Macon, with plentiful bars, restaurants and shops. To sit by the river directly opposite the hotel was very relaxing and we would return to this town and this hotel on future trips. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and spoke English. Dont be put off by 'Angleterre' being an after thought in the name of the hotel!

Troisième fois que je viens dans cet hôtel pour mon retour de vacances. Toujours pas déçu, un an après on retrouve le même personnel qui est très sympathique et compétent, ainsi que la direction qui est agréable. Les chambres sont propres et le restaurant correct pour le prix qui est demandé pour les repas. Bon petit déjeuner.
