Casa Oliver Príncipe Real

The staff communicated with me in English before our trip and the receptionist was fluent as well which was greatly appreciated as my Portuguese is almost nonexistent. I booked 2 standard rooms but requested adjacent rooms facing the botanical gardens at the back of the hotel. Casa Oliver upgraded us as requested without increasing the rate. The en-suite bathrooms were newly updated. The rooms were clean and bed comfortable. There is a mini frig with reasonably priced beer, wines, and cokes. A water pot for tea and an espresso machine with mini coffee pods was provided. We were a 15 minute walk to Barrio Alto where we found a couple good restaurants. We caught an Uber to the airport which took about 20 minutes early in the morning. There are a couple of subway stations a 10 minute walk away with lots of stairs. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Lisbon.

Casa Oliver is our house in Lisbon. All staff is super friendly, rooms are cosy and very well equipped and you feel comfortable and relaxed Also the location is great, at 15/20 minutes walking from Av. Liberdade, Chiado, Estrela, Time out Market, Parque Eduardo VII… I can’t recommend it enough

This was my 3rd trip to Lisbon and second to Casa Oliver and as usual it did not disappoint! Yes the pillows and beds are extremely comfortable but it is the vibe and loveliness that has hooked me. It is decorated and appointed with such care and interest. The beautiful building was not *****ped of all architectural detail, vintage marble that is more lovely with age, beautiful ceilings, floors, wood work etc are all restored to their luxurious beautiful state. On this trip I woke up and just stared at the ceiling that was visually incredible! The location is absolutely perfect, across from a park, near great restaurants, the street car and busses run in front but it is away from mass amounts of tourists so your evenings are quiet. I will be back!

The staff are very polite and welcoming. Helped me with all local suggestions. The hotel is also in a great location and short walk from restaurants and bars. I stayed in a room on ground floor (same level as reception) and the room was clean. Upon entering I noticed a huge heater placed by the bed and also an old fan. I noticed there was no AC in the room aside from the window. The main problem, what i find most upsetting was the horrible smell from the bathroom. There’s no ventilation in there and it smells of something rancid and putrid. It’s truly disturbing and can be smelt in the bedroom unless you close the bathroom door. It must be from the water as you smell it most when you flush the toilet or run the tap. Going in there made me sink and have me headaches. I asked for a room with a beautiful view and though I could see a nice garden from my window, it overlooked a huge construction site. I was woken up every morning by loud construction works. You can also hear guests in the next room. This was upsetting. The code I was given to enter the hotel did not work upon arrival and I was stuck outside with another couple. They gave me a new one which worked but at night if you’ve had a drink and forget the code there’s nobody to help you as they close reception around 6pm. It’s a nice place to stay but these issues would prevent me from staying again.

Great location and friendly staff. The room was great and spacious. The breakfast was good (breakfast room was a little small). The location across the Principe Real Park is great and the tram and bus stop is super close by. If you arrive by Metro it is best to take subway Rato to avoid walking up the hill with your luggage.

The staff are delightful, incredibly helpful and nothing is too much for them. The house is beautifully decorated. It is an old house with so much charm and restored respectully. The interior are fitted with modern details including Marshall sound system and quirky bedding. The linen is crisp and clean and perfectly fitted. Bathroom are luxurious. I will definetly be staying again and highly recommend
