Hotel Tourist

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is approximately 1km from the main heart of the city (which meant it was VERY quiet). Great breakfast and the staff were very pleasant and assisted in every thing that we required. The car park facilities are tight and not too many spaces so confirm that you want a space early. Pool was great and VERY clean. I would certainly recommend staying here as the town is a wonderful spot to see.

I had never been to Sicily before so I was so careful with where I chose to book within my budget. Let's also factor in I've never driven in mainland Europe (where the road side and etiquette differs) and I didn't want to stress myself out on holiday. My partner felt the same way. So, walking distance was a factor too. Hotel Tourist is 15 minutes walk from the main town of Cefalú. Its really not too far, you can even see the Cathedral of Cefalú from the hotel and from your balcony on that side. The walk itself is a lovely stroll on a beach promenade not too far from some restaurants. We booked bed and breakfast with a balcony. We aren't the types to hang around our accommodation too long so if that's you, I highly recommend Hotel Tourist. I'm unsure if they've undergone much renovation in the past 5 years (after reading some concerning reviews) but our room was perfect, spotless clean, bathroom clean and spacious with a good shower (and water pressure). We loved the continental breakfast and looked forward to it every morning, the food was lovely and really fresh. I was loving the coffee machine (for espressos, cappuccinos, americanos etc) I want to mention a staff member called Maria who was so kind and helpful. She's a treasure. The bar was very quiet (I might have to put this down to the season, we stayed mid-May) so if you are looking for a hopping hotel bar, you might not like that. It didn't bother us, we preferred to go out regardless of that. I had a very positive experience. Again, note some of the bad reviews are old and maybe a bit unfair. Hotel Tourist is 3 star. It has a lot going for it and we would stay again. Cefalu is indeed like the pictures, absolutely stunning. One tip for prospective travellers would be to be careful on the footpaths, they are quite badly maintained and I had a tumble myself! Other than that, you won't regret booking.

Hotel Tourist We had a fab stay at the hotel. A room for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Plenty of room for us and our teens. Bathroom was large with a great shower. No problems with hot water and shower was powerful. Sweet little balcony with 2 chairs over looking the town. In April we didn’t use the air con but all looked to be good. Everything was super clean and fresh towels were soft, white and smelled great. Breakfast was plentiful even though we were there in the last half hour. Fresh pastries, eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit and yoghurts. Great range of teas and coffee. The pool was lovely. A few ventured in even in April. Beds were comfortable, clean and looked new. Lots of updates going on.. painting and tree cutting etc as the start of season but did not interrupt our time. Staff were always polite and helpful with directions and advice. The walk into town was 10 mins on the flat. Definitely not too far. I would 100% recommend this hotel for a lovely break. It was excellent value and the bonus of the pool made it great value. Will definitely return. Cefalu is just beautiful.

My friend and I stayed here at the end of April,in a double room with a balcony over the pool,which incidentally gets the sun all afternoon and early evening added bonus !.The room was spacious and big enough for both of us with a double bed and a single one.The hotel is clean and staff friendly but there are parts that could do with a revamp.The breakfast is plentiful and varied and you can eat as much as you like. The pool area is very clean and a nice place to relax and sunbathe especially with an iced coffee from the bar.The beach area although wasn't in use whilst we were there due to start of season is very clean in fact the whole beach all the way up too the town was clean. Cefalu is a lovely place to visit and its bigger than what you think its going to be.Plenty of places to eat,plenty of side streets to mooch around with bars and cafes, There is a local supermarket nearby if you get fed up of eating out all the time which does made up salads,fruit bowls ect. we tried it as we got fed up of pasta cost us about 20 euros and we still had fruit for the next day.The hotel is at the end of the main drag takes about 25 mins to walk to town but the peace and quiet was worth it. If you like Arancinis try the homemade ones you can buy and watch them make , along the main shopping street well worth the 10 minute wait.

Lovely room overlooking the ocean with a delightful view of cefalu particularly lovely at night Lovely to be soothed to sleep with the sound of the ocean The hotel was approx fifteen brisk minutes from downtown cefalu There’s a bar and seperate pool area with supervision at certain times Breakfast had the usual juices water beverages and that was coupled with yoghurt fresh fruits and croissants cakes etc

Before we left for our trip into Cefalu, we were reassured by the hotel that there would be many cabs at the station. There were none. When we called Hotel Tourist for assistance, they said no, and then hung up on us. I walk with a cane and it was tough. They were sarcastic with us when we didn’t understand that the key turned on electrical for the room. After the first day it was better, (attitude) but I wouldn’t come here again. The room was so small, and the area wasn’t good for choices regarding restaurants. Cefalu is amazing but I’m assuming the other places were a lot more expensive. I live in a tourist area myself, and I get it: when the season is over everyone wants to relax. But we felt as though we were bothering them.

If you want wifi in your hotel room do not book this hotel as many of the rooms do not have wifi which was very disappointing when it advertises free wifi in all rooms

We have an awful experience in this place. Upon arrival they told us that they do not allow dogs, even when they are published as pet friendly in both ********** and Google maps. They said they were not responsable for any information in any third party app other than the hotel’s website and impose a cleaning fee as a condition for us to stay. They were very rude and stubborn, not willing to admit that its not they client’s fault how they set up their hotel. Would not recommend at all.
