We loved this hotel to the point we would return to Kandy to stay here again! The staff were all friendly, helpful and professional, the hotel and rooms were all clean and well maintained and the food at both dinner and breakfast was delicous. Overall we loved out stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. *we also bought some jewelry from the shop in the hotel which was good too.

¡Me encantó este hotel! La ubicación era excelente y las vistas preciosas. Ojalá me hubiera podido quedar más tiempo para disfrutar aún más de su ambiente tranquilo. Mi habitación era acogedora y relajante, y me encantó la bañera, perfecta para desconectar después de un largo día. La piscina infinita fue otro punto a destacar, con unas vistas al mar espectaculares, aunque el agua estaba un poco fría. Me hubiera gustado que estuviera climatizada, pero aun así era un lugar precioso para relajarse. ¡El servicio de habitaciones también fue genial! Buena selección y precios razonables para un hotel. Desventajas: En mi último día, me regalé un masaje de aromaterapia de 90 minutos en el spa. Desafortunadamente, le daría una puntuación de 5/10. Vivir en Tailandia me ha malacostumbrado a masajes increíbles, ¡así que reconozco que mis expectativas son altas! Aun así, creo que el spa podría renovarse un poco. The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

Very pretty and nice resort with mountain view. Friendly staffs and super super nice breakfast. However, it is too fat away from Kandy city center, you have to pay 1500+ rp for each ride, and most tuk tuk drivers don't prefer to go to this place. The google map shows wrong way and the team knew about this, but informed us just on the day of arrival, making this journey even harder.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful location and I must say, it was a nice place with outstanding scenery. If you enjoy a mountainous vibe, this is definitely one of the best spots to visit. The food was quite good, and the garden was absolutely beautiful. I especially appreciated Mr. Yoga, who guided us through the gardens and provided excellent support. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no elevators (only stairs). We stayed on the third floor and while the view was lovely, we did encounter some mosquitoes inside the room.

A Hidden Gem – Perfect Honeymoon or Quiet Getaway This place is truly a hidden gem. It was the perfect spot for a honeymoon couple or anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway. Travel tip: From Colombo, you can catch a direct bus to Nuwalapitiya. We didn’t know this and went via Kandy, which made the journey longer than necessary. If we had known, we would have taken the direct bus—it’s much easier. Ps:The bus ride is phenomenal—very beautiful views along the way and very cheap. The property is located on a hill and is naturally beautiful, surrounded by trees and birds whose songs make the atmosphere even more serene. It does get a bit cold at night, but it was the perfect kind of chilly—cozy and refreshing. Our room had an amazing view, making it even more special. The stay itself was perfect for our honeymoon: very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The staff were amazing, especially one gentleman at the restaurant (I didn’t catch his name, but I want to mention him). He went above and beyond to help us and was incredibly sweet and warm-hearted—it really made our stay special. A small note: we noticed the pool looked a bit dirty, which some other reviews also mentioned. However, it was clarified in the pool area that they use natural spring water without chemicals, so this is expected and actually a great eco-friendly approach. But This hotel needs some love because this is a very nice place. Another small note: there were some insects, like cockroaches, but that’s expected when staying on a hill in the middle of nature surrounded by trees. Overall, this was a truly wonderful experience and a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!!

現地で知り合ったバックパッカーとこのホテルを2人で利用した。寝るだけなら良い場所である。 WiFiが上の階だと弱いのと、このホテルに行くには坂を登る必要がある。 しかし、キャンディ市内へのアクセスは良く、湖のほとりを歩ける点が良かった。また、たまたま行くまでの道にゾウが居て試乗させて貰えたので私は満足している。

Los propietarios y empleados de este hotel son tan, tan hermosos. La piscina es un hotel decente, pero en la sombra no vi a nadie. Las fotos de la fiesta de piscina que sospecho de gran manera no fueron una fuente genuina. El bar que es masivo y asistido por varios jovenes y aburridos caballeros, cuando a la vez me aparecí (una vez para la cena) fui el único patrón. Afortunadamente, la puerta de la puerta estaba otra para algunos cocktails y música decentes que salvaron el aburrimiento un poco. El dormitorio era decente con un pequeño refrigerador (pero no funcionó), el baño era pequeño, sentía sucio, sin jabón de mano ni jabón para la ducha (aparte de los ocupantes anteriores de la casa de baño - y eso fue bruto). La presión era pobre, lo que dificultó la ducha y había parche en el suelo de algunos daños - no limpiado. La cama era masiva y cómoda con aire acondicionado y un fan así que el sueño era bueno.
