Very beautiful view over the Sweden 2nd largest lake Vättern. 4km from the famus village Gränna with car ferry to the largest island Visingsö. The place is famus for the Swedish candy Polkagris. Other side of the hotel road it is a large Polkagris shop. The hotel main building looks like a middleage castle and hunting building. The bus to and from hotel is once per hours.

There was a wedding at the property, but we had a cabin that was quiet, clean and comfortable. We have wonderful memories of our time there.

Gyllene Uttern is the perfect stop for us when driving between Malmö and Stockholm. Close to the motorway but peaceful and with beautiful views. We’ve stayed here 7 times and will definitely be back.

An amazing stay; we stayed in room 123, which is the suite with a balcony--and it was so much better than we could have hoped. A sweeping view of the lake, the room was also comfortable and quiet.
I understand why Greta Garbo supposedly stayed there when she visited.

A nice hotel a bit out of the way, but not too far. Extremely clean, close to obsessively so. Good enough breakfast. Great views, very calm and quiet. Slightly too narrow beds.
