Econo Lodge Cherry Point

To start off if I could give this place 100 negative stars I would. I used trip.com to book a room for a friend. Of course the booking said non refundable, not a big deal. My friend has been on the road for 5+ hours driving. Just wanted some where to lay their head for a few hours. My friend went to check in. After waiting 30 minutes trying to check in. The front desk said that the temporary card the secondary party gave them declined. She tried it three times and said it wasn't anything that she could do. I told her don't worry about it and to void the room. My friend was going to find somewhere else to stay. So an hour and a half went by. I just happen to call trip.com about my refund. They contacted Econo Lodge Cherry Point Havelock, NC to find out what happened. Trip.com got back with me telling me the charge went through finally. Umm, funny thing is Econo Lodge Cherry Point Havelock, NC not once called saying anything about the issue was taken care of. So why in the world would this so called establishment ran a room charge for someone that is not going to stay there. When I called this morning to speak with the manager. She said that I had until 4 pm to cancel the room. Someone please help me with this. If I booked a room at 10 pm for the same night until 10 am the next day. How in the world am I going to cancel if it is after 4 pm. All I can say I am out of $100 because the staff and manager at Econo Lodge Cherry Point does not know how to successfully run a business. I work really hard for my money and to be cheated out of $100 just isn't right. So I guessing if anyone wants to book a room here don't. Spend the extra money go to Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn express. Their rooms a whole lot nicer and staff is amazing. Cheap is not the way to go.

Check in was quick and staff was friendly. Room wasn't very clean. Used soap and bandages in shower upon arrival. Killed three cockroaches in two night stay, but I'm sure there were plenty more. Walls are thin, so noise from other guests and busy highway outside is sometimes noticeable. You get what you pay for.

Ceiling in bathroom was caved in, he shower was mildewy, the wall was scratched up, windows broken, cigarette smell, holes in the bedsheets and dirt and hair on the bed. Thanks for the refund though.

The stay was okay I wasn't complaining about that it's just the false advertisement when I looked at the site it show different looking really nice but when I went into the room it looked like someone just threw it I've ass together

Dirty dingy and giant gaps in the doors I think I got tetanus from just sitting on the bed. There was so many holes in the blankets. Smelled funny coffee stains on the sink counters. Nasty bathroom it was literally disgusting.

The beds seemed clean. Towels were clean but dingy looking. Paint and ceiling was peeling. Mold in the bathroom and wood trim was rotted. Has potential to be a good motel, but just needs updating. Last night at the hotel I saw several roaches.

Roaches were everywhere in our room, especially in the bathroom. It was a nightmare. Noise was unbearable and non stop. Doors slamming, people arguing loudly, and my wife and I were actually scared, I was happy with the office manager who identified with the dead bugs and stated to me she’d write a report and encouraged me to get in touch with ******* and demand my money back.

Bathroom and room was dirty, found roaches both alive and dead, bedding wasnt clean, all of this as housekeeping just left after checking in. Too expensive for what this is. Wouldn't stay again.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable and clean. It was quiet of street noice. The facility is old and very worn, some rotting boards around the base of building in places. There was no working smoke detector in our room, and the ground floor window did not lock. Wall lamp shades were broken. If I was a woman traveling alone, I would not stay here, I would not feel safe on the property. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe enough, but the property just felt sketchy.
