Scone Arms Hotel

3 day stay. Booking in was interesting as it was more of a reception in a cleaning cupboard. The member of staff was helpful but wasn't sure on current procedures when asked. Parking is limited in the car park; 6 spaces, 1 being ♿ parking. Other spaces available on the roads roundabout. The bedroom was spacious and clean, however, lacked bath sheets and was only set up for one person. The bathroom was a nice size but could benefit from a better placed mirror. The toilet paper was low quality and didn't match the rest of the offering. Recommend a rethink on this. We had booked a meal a week previous for 6 for our first night as we were visiting family. This was a disappointing affair with no steak, chicken, pizzas or mushrooms available. The staff were the best thing about this experience. In the morning we went down for breakfast, that we booked on arrival, really glad we only booked for 1 morning as this was the worst experience. Dirty dishes from previous guests on the bar as we entered the restaurant this didn't start the morning off well. This was followed with no one to greet us or explain how breakfast worked or should I say didn't work. After waiting for a few minutes we decided to cater for ourselves only to find no pastries as advertised, no breakfast tea bags, no filter coffee only a selection of Nescafe sachets. The choice of fruit was 3 oranges and 2 apples, no bread for toast and we had to search for butter. When the chef appeared he was pleasant but had no answers for the lack of products as advertised on the menu. The cooked breakfast was low quality products and 2 of the items were missing when the breakfast was delivered. There was no surprise when we asked to speak to a manager, there wasn't one available. Rather than concentrate on our experience negatives let's highlight the pluses so you manage your expectations if you decide to stay here. Staff friendly and pleasant, bedroom spacious and clean, bathroom clean. Our best suggestion: Eat out. We had breakfast and dinner at Brown and Blacks for the rest of our stay, they're only a 10 minute walk away and we can't recommend them highly enough. In the end, as it should always be, your choices. One guest's snapshot of a hotel is not always the same as others. Whatever you decide have a great time in Scone.

The Scone Arms cannot be faulted on cleanliness and the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. The whole establishment is very nicely decorated. Sadly, a few points to note about our stay; no working heating in our room (we were provided with an oil heater which did a brilliant job!), no mirror in the bathroom, no TV signal in the morning and, more importantly, no hot water in the morning! Dinner was tasty and the bar is well stocked. Breakfast; the tattie scones were like cardboard and there were no pastries or fruit (both on the menu). We really enjoyed the band which were playing on the night of our stay. We did really enjoy our stay and would definitely go back, but would need to be assured the negative feedback has been put to good use.

Return stopover after visiting family and wedding!. It’s always a pleasant stay, very friendly staff, delicious food! Rooms are clean cosy and comfortable. Will be back soon !

This property was nice, however there was a wedding on one of our nights any it was quite loud. The room appliances needed to be exchanged as they did not work. The staff was amazing and very helpful.

The most friendly caring staff. Excellent food and perfect rooms. So well looked after. Would definitely come back here. Breakfast was excellent, service amazing. They could not do enough to make my stay easy and enjoyable Thank you all v much.

Place was lovely good bar meal,staff were so friendly and a great breakfast in the morning well worth it good place to stay l would definitely stay again

A really comfortable room, well-equipped and clean as a whistle. We asked for a late breakfast next day, and Iain, the superb chef, made us a terrific Scottish hot breakfast to order at 10:30. Would highly recommend this hotel in the really nice town of Scone.
