Spark by Hilton Fort Wayne

I am so glad I get to leave this first review! This was our first stay at the "spark" brand and it did not disappoint. This recently refurbished hotel was completely updated inside and out and it shows. Even the parking lot was brand new. Staff was courteous and the bagel bar was a nice touch before getting back on the road. Convenient location with lots of restaurants & stores nearby. Great quality and look forward to staying again. Bravo Ft. Wayne Spark, you exceeded our expectations.

This is hotel is completely filthy in every aspect. Room had broken window treatments, dirty beds including blood stains, body fluid stains and hair. exhaust fan hanging from ceiling, dry wall crumbling, dirty socks and q tips on the floor. broken furniture and bed frame. This hotel is used for other activities beside vacation spots. You can use your imagination on that. We felt filthy and unsafe the minutes we were there. It is listed on the Choice Hotels website with pictures that look that nothing is wrong. This is a disgrace to the Comfort Inn line of hotels that we have stayed in over the years. Never again will we stay in a Comfort Inn I unfortunately booked through a 3rd party, bookingonline.com which will not refund our money for 2 nights. So very disappointed in all aspects of our time

"Free hot breakfast", no way! NO COFFEE, got a paper sack with a banana, breakfast bar, muffin in plastic, and a small Sunny D orange drink. The bed lacked a bed spread but, not a huge concern. However, the curtain rod to the bathtub was attached to broken sheetrock and would not hold the shower curtain (the maids put the curtain through the handrail so, it wouldn't fall down after cleaning). This hotel stay reminded me a cheap discount stay at a chain motel in the oilfield, meaning not good for a vacation or pleasure trip! The front desk clerk was more concerned with watching TV than helping someone at the front desk. Finally, how hard is it to put a coffee pot or thermal carafe of coffee on the counter for guests leaving in the morning with NO HOT BREAKFAST!

Nasty and pretty shabby. No blackout curtains, bright light from parking lot all night. Room smelled of urine and some sort of cover-up deodorizer. Holes in ceiling of bathroom…lacking a good clean feel. No hot breakfast, yet no break on price, sack of the usual skimpy breakfasts so many hotels are still getting away with on the cheap. Felt like a low-end budget hotel…yuck.

The hotel is filthy! The furniture in our room was broken, holes in the walls, no outlet cover, the window didn’t close properly so anyone could have come in from the outside. The bedding was stained and the carpet filthy. From the looks of the boxes and a microwave stacked in the windows, I believe people live here and the entire second floor smelled strongly of Indian food being cooked at 11 pm. My entire room smelled so strongly I couldn’t even sleep. I had to bring a blanket from my car because I wouldn’t use their bedding. The tiles in the elevator were falling down, food smeared on the walls in the hallway. Absolutely disgusting.

I would have given 5 stars but 2 nights in a row had fire alarm go off. Once construction done and breakfast up and running this will be a great place. They were courteous, accomodating, and the hotel was clean. I did not use any of amenities but did look in. This is a much improved hotel compared to past reviews. Will stay again.

First off - the pictures on website are NOTHING like the property - when you call to make reservation there is a welcome message indicating they are proud to announce renovations have been completed - the hotel is filthy - stinks - bathroom off the lobby had poop all over it and urine smell terrible - didn’t even use the bathroom - we were given a key to room 301 - window in hall outside of room was broke and could hear highway - room keys did not work - people were sitting outside of the room watching tv on their phone (shady people) we were appalled by the filth of the whole place and the smell was terrible - we went back to front desk and told them we were not staying - because of misrepresentation of the conditions- the “staff” behind the front desk were 4-5 men (could not understand we needed refund) I don’t believe they could understand much English - another disturbing thing was they made a picture of my drivers license when checking in (I have never had this done at a hotel) I did request the copy of my license be given back to me - I am now working with the customer complaint dept (not much help) I was advised to call manager at the hotel and request refund - when I called - was told manager was not there and not sure when he would be in (not today not tomorrow just not sure when he would be there) I gave the person who answered the phone my request and information to pass along to manager - I do not expect a call back! I know that each hotel is individually owned but I would think comfort inn would have district managers that monitored the properties since it represents their brand! I was not able to get a contact number for corporate offices here in United States - the customer service for complaints in housed in Central America (which we had a language barrier) My husband and I are not high maintenance people by no means but this property is a disgrace for comfort inn and for Fort Wayne! Again - do not book this hotel if you think you are going to the facility shown to you on their website (unless you want a good laugh) total misrepresentation! I wish I would have taken pictures of actual property but we just wanted to get out of there!!!!! I am still hoping to get a refund since we did not stay (didn’t even get in the room)
