The Hide Flims Hotel a Member of Design Hotels

Nice place because of location. Too expensive for what it is. Nice staff. Asked for a late checkout. Got 30mns more:-)) otherwise need to pay CHF 50 for 2 hours. Would have surely paid more for lunch at the place if they had said ok for a 2 hours late check out. A bit too short sighted for me. Sauna only opens after 4pm on a sunny day and do not forget your towels from the bedroom:-)). They could do a bit better for the prices charged

Stayed for one night only. Modern style and looks fairly new, but the varnish is definitely already coming off in places. Found it completely soulless, no service at all, staff were nice enough, the room was claustrophobically small. Like a big city hotel room, anonymous and expensive, not what I am looking for in the mountains. Average breakfast. I will not be back.

Stayed here for four nights. It has a great location right by the bubble lift out of Flims, so just don your ski boots and up the slopes you go. Cannot fault the location. The hotel is in a complex (the Stenna Centre) with shops and a large supermarket if you need anything. Parking was provided in a roomy underground car park at a reduced rate of CH20 per day (compared to CH32) Rooms, which are not particularly large, are darkly decorated which makes the room quite claustrophobic (we looked at a junior suite which was much better, size wise). They have bathrooms that would not be to everyone's taste - they are open to the room with glass partitioning so you can see someone in the shower/on the loo! Our room had a large patio/terrace area outside the room which (if on slope side) got the afternoon sun. Generally the sleep quality was good and the hotel quiet (but it was very empty the week we went). Appears to be understaffed – came back one day to find room not done at 3.15pm - they do say your room should be cleaned before 3.30pm but when a hotel is empty and you vacate at 0930, you expect it to be ready when you return. The one thing we found disappointing was the staff - when we arrived the Reception staff were very unwelcoming and abrupt; in fact we were told not to interrupt! This continued for the first three days; clearly there is an issue in this area and maybe that is because of the attitude/lack of example from senior management. That said on our last day the member of staff on reception was charming and friendly. Food wise, breakfast was average and the only hotel we have stayed in where staff from the Stenna Centre (the complex within which the hotel is situated) and maintenance staff in filthy overalls are eating their breakfast in the hotel restaurant as customers. Not a good aspect!

We visited this hotel for the second time. The service is still perfect. The breakfast is big and tasty. The rooms are nicely decorated and well maintained. To have a parking lot and a small shopping mall under the same roof is also very handy.

Fantastic hotel - perfect location, amazing rooms with great facilities, shower is incredible and the view is glorious. The absolute gem is Ildiko the spa therapist who gives the most incredible massage - she’s amazing! Thanks to the Hide for a great couple of days.

Well, given some of the negative reviews and a mistake in our booking, I would say my expectations were rather low. But I’m happy to report that the hotel was really very nice, very clean, and all the staff members that we interacted with were very professional, pleasant and kind. We were originally booked into a 3.5 room apar**ent, but were changed to a connecting room in the hotel due to a booking error. While I can’t comment on the apar**ents, the hotel is really nice, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The bathroom does have limited privacy, so if that’s important for you, keep it in mind. The breakfast was good quality, with a nice selection of normal breakfast items. You can also order egg dishes if you wish, and I would say that the eggs are actually cooked properly. The location of the hotel is perfect for skiing/snowboarding. From our room we could see the gondola and the Wonderland ski area for kids. Because the hotel is in the Stenna building, there is a Coop grocery store in the same building, which was super nice to grab something from the store without even having to put on our coats. The spa was also really nice, with different steam room options. The only bit I didn’t love was the use of so many air fresheners in the hallway. Maybe just my taste, but I found it a bit strong. I could really recommend The Hide if you want to stay in Flims. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly.

Do not stay here. I just don't know where to start. The apar**ents are so disappointing. On arrival at our 3.5 room apar**ent which can sleep four people we were given ONE key. You cannot have more. We are expected to coordinate amongst ourselves for a week. If someone is skiing and someone else wants to enter the room they have no option. They cannot even enter the building which requires the key to open the downstairs door. Upon checking in we were given a list of things we had to do such as cleaning the room, emptying the bins, doing dishes and putting plates away, or there are a series of CHF10 fines. Even though they charge a CHF210 cleaning fee. It's like one of those horror AirBNB stories you read about on the internet. We are paying CHF710/night and they want us to do their chores as well. The apar**ent itself is sad and spartan with revolting old towels and very little else. No soap by the kitchenette or hand towel. It is very depressing and tiny. Certainly not a place you want to stay for a couple of days - let alone a week. We paid CHF180 for the fridge to be stocked on arrival. It was not done. (Though they did come later that night). We were told there were laundry facilities in the building but there are not. Instead you have to take your laundry to a nearby building and go down into the basement where there are two of the smallest washing machines I have ever seen - shared by hundreds of people which means it is never available. You also have to go to the local supermarket to by washing liquid and softener. What a special experience it is carrying arm loads of laundry around Flims like a homeless person. There is a ski storage room downstairs but it is too small and there are no spaces available even at 4pm. So we have to store our ski equipment upstairs in our tiny living room. Lugging it up and down in the elevator every day. Yuck. Wet floors. Gross. If you want to completely ruin your holiday experience rent one of these overpriced nasty apar**ents. We are so sad being here and wish we were anywhere else. We have been completely ripped off. At this price point this is perhaps the lowest value stay of our entire lives. There is not a single redeeming quality to these apar**ents.

This is a design hotel, so we were expecting design features, of which there were many great ones. No photos on the website show the exact bathroom arrangement, so although we were expecting the bathroom to be broken plan to the sleeping area, we were not expecting the toilet (and shower) to have doors that were partially transparent. There is no door to the bathroom area. The shower and toilet both have doors that separate them from the bathroom area, but these doors go to the ceiling and are more opaque near the bottom of the door and more transparent near the top. There is a lot of reflected light in the bathroom area. Everything else about our stay was perfect.

Très bel accueil. Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Il manque cependant un sèche serviette, pratique au retour du ski. Petit déjeuner copieux, dommage pour le jus d'orange qui n'est pas frais (pressé). Nous n'y avons malheureusement pas passé suffisamment de temps pour profiter du bar qui semble proposer des des cocktails très intéressants. Merci à toute l'équipe pour leur attention et leur sourire.
