A quiet place convenient to the road south, with no bright city lights to disturb our sleep and a good place to park the car right out front. There is little traffic and a nice view of the river, and the welcome was warm and genuine. Amanda has a huge collection of interesting books (alphabetically arranged by author!), and TV is only to be found in the lounge, which encourages rest and relaxation. Very comfortable stay!

Booked two nights en route to another destination, which gave us a day to explore Confolens. Accommodation was fairly easy to find and a short walk into town. The house is opposite the river so a lovely view from the terrace. Owners very hospitable and provided a list of places to eat in the town. Good French breakfast with home made honey. Bedroom spacious with spare bedding ( if required). Very good en suite shower with shampoo and shower gel provided. Hairdryer was good. Also use of a lounge with TV We would definitely return.

What a great find. Peaceful quiet next to the river. Amanda & Kevin the perfects hosts greeting you with a glass of cold rose wine. Just what you need after a 6 hour journey in the sun. Wonderful accommodation large comfy and very tastefully decorated room.

Amanda and Kevin are amazying hosts teamed with their beautiful home I had a wonderful stay at 13bees. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable and in this tranquil setting by the river it was lovely to chill out after a long drive. Only a short walk from centre of town where I spent an enjoyable evening at the annual music festival. “I will be back”! A&K thanks again. Karen xx

We found the host Amanda and Kevin very welcoming and hospitable. We also found the Chamber d'Hote is well maintained. Room is clean and neat. The location of 13 Bees is very good too as it's only 10 minutes walk to down town Confolens. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to our family and friends.

Stayed in 13 Bees for 2 nights. Our hosts, Kevin and Amanda, were most welcoming. The B&B is in a lovely location next to the Vienne and is only a short walk into the centre of Confolens. Our room (The River Room) was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our breakfast (in the Salon - a lovely room) was delicious and plentiful (bread, croissants, jam, honey (of course!), fruits, yoghurts, fruit juice, tea/coffee). There's ample parking, and Kevin was more than happy that I stored by bike in the garage. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Looking back on my second visit to 13 Bees where my wife and I received the what I’ve come to expect as the usual friendly welcome from Amanda and Kevin. Lovely location and big, airy rooms. Definitely our preferred base in the Confolens area!

From arrival to departure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed for 5 nights whilst attending a sewing retreat in the area. Our room was clean and spacious with views of the river. We had everything we needed including ensuite shower and separate toilet. The bed was comfy and we had a fan in the room to help with the warm nights. The whole ambience of 13Bees is one of peace and tranquility, with only the sounds of nature in the background. Our continental breakfast was good with the bonus of home produced honey. Use of the large lounge for guests was another added bonus, along with access to several patio areas and the gardens. Amanda and Kevin are brilliant hosts, nothing seemed too much trouble they were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, we enjoyed chatting with them yet always felt they allowed us our privacy. We would love to return to Confolens and 13Bees would be our first choice for accommodation.
