VERY DISAPPOINTED. We couldn’t wait to take our 6 month old baby on her first family holiday. Having booked a superior sea view room, we were so excited, however very quickly our excitement turned to disappointment. We checked in and we were allocated room 205 in the bar block, perfectly positioned with a lovely view over the harbour. We arrived late one evening and went straight to bed, the next morning we woke up and the room was BOILING. We attempted to turn on the air conditioning but nothing happened. My partner went to reception who advised they would send a technician to the room to fix this. Later that day we returned to our room and nothing had changed. Travelling with our 6 month old baby, I had taken a gro egg (tommee tippee room thermometer) to check the temperature so we could appropriately dress our baby for bed. The thermometer stated 25 degrees, we went down to reception again and they advised we could have a fan until the technician could come in the morning. The next morning, again we awoke in sweltering heat- it was actually hotter in our room that it was outside. We attended reception again, explaining we needed the air conditioning fixed as the high temperatures were unbearable, and unsafe for baby to sleep in. As per the lullaby trust guidelines to reduce the risk of SIDS, the appropriate room temperature for a baby is 16-20 degrees. We were told an outside agency technician would attend the room to have a look at the issue. Again later that day we went to the room and nothing had changed. The same thing happened all week, night 4 I went to the reception, the lady put her head down as she saw me approach and left me stood there for 7 minutes while she was on the computer without even acknowledging my presence. Eventually she looked up and before I could even speak, very abruptly told me the issue had been fixed. I stated it was still the same and asked her to come to the room to feel the temperature- she refused. I said to the lady, we haven’t even been given and apology or offered an alternative room, she told me that this was not needed as the air conditioning was working and shrugged her shoulders at me. In the days that followed and was told numerous times I was wrong and there was no issue. On one occasion I was told the issue was because the air conditioning only worked between the hours of 12pm and 3am. Another I was told it was controlled by a computer system at reception and they controlled the temperature. Another occasion I was told the issue was because Spanish law states the temperature must be above 21 degrees (despite the law not applying to hotel room as they are considered a private space). As we checked out I was advised the issue could be because our door was broken and was not closing properly. The lady continuously shook her head at me and accused me of lying despite my begging her to attend the room and feel the temperature for herself. The lack of apology, empathy and absolute refusal to move u
