Premier Inn Cardiff Bay

I loved how convenienty located the hotel was to mermaid Quay. It was also located near to a bus stop which took us to the city centre. The reception was really nice :) there are some constructions going on so our room had the windows covered (which I didn't prefer) but it was still nice

Close to the Cardiff Bay area and a very short bus to the main city and Cardiff Castle. Breakfast was excellent (but no muesli). Rooms spacious but no fridge (I think that the UK don't do fridges) we did enjoy our stay and would fully recommend staying here. Car park is next door at a multi carpark which is subsidised by the hotel @ 25 - 30%.

Friendly staff, great location. Sadly our stay was a little affected by not being able to see out of our bedroom window due to it being covered because of building works. I wasn’t after a view but it was a little unsettling not having a window in our room. Lots sold out at the bar too but again we didn’t hang around the hotel so not a huge deal. For its location and friendly staff I would stay again I would just check that I was in a room with a clear window

Stopped here the past couple of weeks. I must say the food, service and rooms are brilliant. I would like to give a shout out to a lady called Mel k that was there most nights and couldn’t do enough for me and my colleague's making us feel so welcome and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Extremely warm and friendly with an exceptional restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable and accommodated all of my needs.

Brilliant location, right by the bay and the Welsh National Orchestra building. Nice breakfast, very comfortable bed and room, wet room was great. Disable parking outside as well was a real help. The most friendly staff we have encountered fr a very long time, they did the hotel proud! Nothing was too much trouble. One of us is disabled and they really went that extra mile to make sure we were fully catered for without being asked!

I used the check in machines to check in and cut my key cards, however the key cards provided did not work, and I had to return back to reception to get my key cards re-made by a member of staff. This was annoying as I had to rejoin the lengthy queue where other people had experienced similar issues. When I eventually got my key cards re-issued, our room was not made up for a family of four. I returned to reception again, and was told they would move us to another room. The check in process took almost an hour before we were checked into our actual room. This was not good as I had young children with me who were waiting around for long periods of time, before they could settle in, use the toilet or relax. This was made worse especially after a very long car journey. We have stayed at other premier inns before without a problem, and have never experienced this level of chaos with regards to checking in. The bathroom room smelled of urine, possibly coming from the shower curtain. The shower head leaked when in use, and it had blue tape around the joint which had presumably been put there to stop the leak, but the shower sprayed water all over the place including the ceiling, where the paint had bubbled and peeled. Consequently the shower was not very useable or relaxing to use. The breakfast was fine, but some basic items were not re-filled including water, some pastries, and cooked items. I had to ask staff to heat my plate of breakfast in the microwave as the food was lukewarm. Overall, a disappointing stay.

When you actually found staff, they were very rude! Unclean room, one member of staff actually shouted at us, because she was too busy to help!
