Excellent stay at the Shilla Hotel. The location is amazing -- on the cliffs overlooking a beach and the ocean. Beautiful, manicured grounds make the place even more calming. The room was nice with a Mediterranean feel. Surprised there was no recycling container in the room as that seems to be standard nowadays. All the indoor facilities were good, although many of the carpets were worn and need replacement. Overall, a very classy and relaxing place that could do with some refurbishment.

Mi esposo y yo nos alojamos 3 noches con nuestra hija de un año y medio y ¡lo pasamos de maravilla! Nos alojamos en el ala infantil del segundo piso. Mi hija tuvo su propia cama y muchos regalos de bienvenida. La habitación estaba impecable y tenía todas las comodidades que necesitábamos. Tenían detalles maravillosos y muy bien pensados, como artículos de aseo para niños, bata y pantuflas, y un taburete para acceder al lavabo/inodoro. El servicio de limpieza fue muy atento y rápido. Pedimos servicio de habitaciones y fue rápido y delicioso. El acceso a todos los servicios del hotel fue gratuito durante nuestra estancia. Lamentablemente, la piscina de la azotea estaba cerrada por obras, pero la piscina del jardín era preciosa. Nuestra habitación incluía el desayuno buffet. Era principalmente cocina occidental y coreana/china, y la variedad no cambiaba mucho de un día para otro, ¡pero la comida estaba deliciosa! Gran selección de pasteles y la cafetería era fantástica. También tienen una tienda de conveniencia en el hotel con una zona para comer. Mi única recomendación es tener coche durante su estancia. La subida por la gran colina hasta el hotel dura unos 10 minutos y, aunque no es terrible, es dura después de un largo día. No hay paradas de autobús en la colina, así que hay que bajar andando para llegar a una. Una vez fuera del recinto, hay muchas tiendas y restaurantes cerca. En general, lo pasamos de maravilla. El hotel es muy adecuado para niños y tanto el personal como los huéspedes comprenden muy bien los retos de viajar con niños pequeños. El personal fue muy amable y servicial, y fue una de las razones principales por las que disfrutamos tanto de nuestra estancia. Si alguna vez volvemos a Jeju, ¡me encantaría alojarme aquí de nuevo!

A very chill and comprehensive resort. Love the chill vibe and the room. The resort consist of different shops, restaurants and convenience stores. This is so convenient. Also, Landing Dining is a must try. A lot of selection of seafood. The hotel location is close to many tourist attractions. With car, you can move around easily. Will definitely come back next time if I visit Jeju again.

I really liked the property of the venue. I came to the area later in the day because it was raining on the island. Because I was in the midst of a circle around the island, I had already dealt with a rain storm at the folk Village and just needed to eat or clean up. I needed tea and a space to relax. There’s a plaza about five minutes walking from this property, and some of the amenities were closed at Playce when I arrived. I was also told at check-in that it was more like a hostel. The check-in process was fast.  The room space is very small, but the design of the hotel rooms is neat and functional. Unfortunately, there’s no luggage rack, and there are limited hours for the café, laundry, play, and bar restaurant. I had two suitcases, so I used my bed and a MacGyver way to set the carry-on.  I think this place is best suited for remote workers who are minimalists or trekkers/bikers. I still think the concept of Playce is unique. However, I wanted to go see the sunrise on the Ilchulbong hike and there’s no breakfast early in the morning. The coffee shop is not open until later either. The restaurant opens promptly at dinner time. The shop has very nice branded things, but I chose to purchase a couple of basic souvenirs. I felt a sense of hipster basically. Otherwise, the place is great. Price is best.  Although the staff was very friendly and had lots of information, I do not feel that describing the venue as a hostel was appropriate. If I cannot get my tea or coffee when the popular attraction nearby is a 40 minute walk away or a five minute taxi, then I should at least have the option that a hostel does. This means I had to utilize the coffee that I took from the previous hotel in order to make my morning start the best at sunrise.. It was suggested that I go to a restaurant locally across the street by Starbucks at the 4pm check-in since the restaurant was not open until 6 PM. Even if I had my own snacks, the option I had was to use the hot water machine downstairs. Thinking back to a hostel, I did not have the hostel kitchen. The laundry was available if needed though.  What I liked about this Playce despite the fact that it was a rainy day is the feature of the stage in the middle of the property and the fact that they do events locally on a regular basis. I liked the interior decorating and I did like the fact that they had a library/remote workers room. The food at the restaurant was delicious. When I did get to eat breakfast later in the morning after the hike (the hike spot had local shops), it was really good. When the café did eventually open, it was a very nice space. Food service literally saved my opinion late in the morning.  I like the concept of the whole property and feel that it can do better in accommodating the hotel guests, especially when it is a Chinese holiday revolving around an upcoming Korean holiday. Hours of operation are not in sync with travelers, and it is definitely not with hostel amenities. It’s a hotel.  I stayed at this location because of the price and vibe which was quite fine after 6pm. I really enjoyed the hike and the small village near the shore.

Un hotel estupendo, con vistas magníficas y excelentes instalaciones. El hotel era muy lujoso; la piscina estaba climatizada a pesar del frío exterior, y las duchas de la piscina parecían un spa de lujo. La comida estaba rica y el hotel contaba con una gran variedad de restaurantes y cafeterías. También pedimos un pastel al servicio de habitaciones, que estaba delicioso. El único inconveniente es que la habitación estándar es bastante pequeña, pero aun así lo pasamos de maravilla.

El hotel es muy agradable. La habitación era muy grande y tenía una gran vista. La mañana había un poco de ruido porque mi habitación estaba cerca de las escaleras, podía oír a la gente rodando sus bolsillos por la mañana. El hotel está muy bien, pero el personal fue muy amable y útil.

We were quite disappointed upon arrival. We had specifically booked a mountain view room, but were given a city view room with mountains in the distant background—a view that looked nothing like what was advertised in the hotel’s room listing. When we raised this with the front desk and showed them the discrepancy using a photo comparison (our view vs. the advertised one), we were told that the building had been constructed recently and the room photos hadn’t been updated. However, the buildings obstructing our view clearly appeared not to be new, making that explanation unconvincing. What was even more disappointing was the lack of any effort to rectify the situation. The hotel could have at least offered us an alternative room, even a cheaper one with partial sea and mountain views, but this wasn’t done. We ended up paying a premium for a view that didn’t meet expectations, and left feeling misled. Parking The listing stated free parking, but both nights, the hotel car park was full. We had to park in public areas, and one night, we ended up parking at the roadside due to a lack of space. As foreigners unfamiliar with Korean parking regulations, this caused unnecessary stress—we were worried about the risk of parking fines for potentially illegal parking. Other Concerns There seemed to be extra charges for everything. Only two complimentary bottles of water were provided each night. When we went to the lobby to ask for two paper cups, we were told we had to pay for them. Fortunately, this charge was waived—possibly because they were aware of our parking issue—but it still left a negative impression.

Hotel is located along the main road. Pros: 24-hour convenience store, paying self-operated, laundry, easy to check-in/out using automated smart system. Cons: No blackout curtains (not recommended for light-sensitive sleepers), very limited parking (may have to walk 5-10 mins on a slope to a multi-storey carpark), parking spaces are small (not recommended for those renting MPV).
