We highly recommend this hotel. It’s modern and with spacious and clean rooms. And the staff is outstanding.
We were very warmly welcomed by the staff and check in went super smooth. We got lots of information and it’s easy to communicate via the hotels WeChat. The staff didn’t speak so much English, but this was not any problem with translating apps and the translate function in WeChat. The staff felt us feel very welcome and they stood out as very professional and service minded. We have travelled a lot and the staff of Huanghe Xiyu hotel made a solid impression.
The room was spacious and modern. It was very clean and nice. Good windows which could be opened. It also has mosquito nets. There were plenty water, a couple of complementary soft drinks and drip coffee and tea. Comfortable beds and several choices of pillows. The gym was also good.
The breakfast was very good. Nice selections of diffferent items. Tasty and fresh. We enjoyed freshly made noodles and dumplings. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly and service minded too.
Overall a very good experience which we do recommended.

MMapoxiangcaiPersonalmente, creo que la ubicación geográfica y las condiciones del terreno del Diamond Hotel son las mejores de todos los hoteles de Zhongwei. La vista desde la habitación es muy amplia y las dunas de arena son las más hermosas, sin huellas ni surcos molestos. Además, es muy agradable deslizarse por la arena, tanto en altura como en pendiente. Al subir, se puede contemplar el inmenso mar de arena, que es realmente espectacular. Mientras se disfruta de la vista única, la privacidad de la habitación también es la mejor de todos los hoteles de Zhongwei que he visitado. Es muy tranquila y no se ve molestada por los huéspedes de al lado. Dos días antes del check-in, se llamó por teléfono para comunicar la hora de recogida el día del check-in y se organizó un grupo de limpieza. Mis limpiadores en esta ocasión fueron Tina y James. Respondieron con mucha rapidez y todas las necesidades se resolvieron a tiempo. De hecho, no solo ellos, sino también otros miembros del personal fueron muy amables, como Ellie, la ama de llaves que nos acompañó a experimentar el proyecto de regalos, así como el personal del restaurante, los chefs y el personal de limpieza. VVSTWe wish to give our deepest gratitude to all the staff especially the front desk ladies in this lovely hotel. The moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with warm hospitality and welcoming smiles. The lady assisted us with our travels by giving us tips on getting around using the public transport. Upon checking into the clean, spacious and comfortable room, we requested for two pairs of bathroom slippers. We are deeply moved when the aunty cleaner lady came back with two pairs of new rubber slippers. She was assigned to go to the nearest store to buy the two pairs of slippers. Thank you again.
We slept very well for three nights here.
The laundry room has two washing machines and two dryers, perfect for hotel guests.
The breakfast was superb. For three days continuously, they served a variety of food. Another perfect💯 score for the kitchen staff as well as the hardworking staff in the dining room who ensured that the food served is always sufficient for hotel guests.
The location of the hotel is also great as it is easy to move around using public bus as well as taxis. The surrounding areas also have lots of eating shops and restaurants.
Thank you to all of you in this lovely hotel for making our stay in Zhongwei so memorable.

UUsuario invitadoI absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.

It is pretty far away from the Zhongwei's downtown, and Tengger Desert is actually already counted as Inner Mongolia.
We came there at the low season, and the weather was quite freezing. Luckily the owner had informed us about the weather, so we changed our booking in time.
Even with a heater the room was still pretty cold. I can't imagine if we booked a tent.
The scenery was beautiful enough. Not too many events because there were not many tourists, thus we had a good relaxing time there.
The breakfast was simple ane satisfying. We enjoyed the meals.
The owner also gave us some souvenirs when we left the camp.
Note: We wished that there were a sweeper in the room. We would carry some sand in every time we got into the room. It would be great if there's a mat in front of the bathroom.

BBlade.around.the.worldThe Zhongwei Shadu Hotel is 4 star property located on a roundabout next to the highway linking Zhongwei with the Shapotou river scenic area. It's about 8 kilometres to town or about 20 yuan by taxi. The Shapotou river area is 11 kilometres away while the Shapotou desert area is about 16 kilometres away.
The immediate area of the hotel once filled with shops and restaurants has now mainly closed down and is pretty much abandoned.
The hotel itself offers fairly premium rooms with good beds, crisp linens, fresh towels and an excellent bathroom that holds a hot shower with good water pressure.
A special note of appreciation to the very friendly and hard working housekeeping who really stand out at this property.
The receptionists are not overly friendly but they are professional and are really trying to fulfil the guest's requests as expected from a property of this level.
The female manager on duty when we checked in was avoiding eye contact and flatly refused to speak to me directly when I addressed her with an issue.
One of the receptionists, the one who showed us our room, (unfortunately we don't know her name), was outstanding in her very friendly attitude. She was very mindful of problem solving. She should be recommended as the hotel's most outstanding employee especially when it comes to dealing with foreign guests.
If the location out of town is acceptable for you, the Zhongwei Shadu Hotel is recommended as a decent four star hotel. Probably this hotel is most convenient for guests who arrive with their own car.
