Positives: - Perfect family resort with tons of activities for children to enjoy. Can spend the whole day just taking part in activities - breakfast is fantastic, in terms of taste and variety, especially the usage of local hsinchu food - Room big, comfortable and with nice decor - international power socket - baby shampoo, soap and lotion provided - eco friendly (toilet amenities such as tooth brush, paste) only provided upon request - indoor swimming pool - sauna Negatives - location not the best (next to a lake but not near the city centre or other amenities. Only a convenience store at the outside of the hotel) - sound insulation not perfect. Maybe just my room. Room facing the road, can hear the sound of traffic.

I recently stayed at Sol Hotel in Hsinchu, Taiwan, from June 29 to June 30, 2026. My experience was truly incredible. The hotel offered a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable accommodations, which made my short stay very enjoyable. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that everything went smoothly throughout my visit. The highlights of my stay included the overall relaxing environment and the excellent service provided. I would confidently give Sol Hotel a 4 out of 5 stars rating. It’s a great place to stay if you’re visiting Hsinchu and want a pleasant, hassle-free experience.

Pros: Breakfast is perfect, very good combination of western and *********. Location is perfect if you are visiting Jiao Tong University and Tsinghua University. Only a couple of bus stops. Very authentic local restaurants around. Employees are willing to help. Free soda in the fridge, decent gym. Good balcony view in certain rooms. Cons: My room was clean but shower head was loose, although I was able to fix it myself, it made the bathroom a chaos. Shampoo and bodywash are not good considering it's a 4-star. Electronic bidet that cleans you but doesn't dry you out... public baths could be a good place to relax, but it only open 4-10pm, which is not friendly to travellers who only stay for the night.

Hay un estacionamiento en el interior, el salón del hotel es muy bonito, y bonos de recepción (tarjeta, helado, fruta), el cuarto es muy grande y muy cómodo, la ubicación es grande para abrir la maleta hay muchas posiciones, muy bueno, el cuarto de baño tiene un ventilador de aire acondicionado, y el futuro querrá quedarse otra vez

Adoro mi habitación - muy espaciosa y vino con un balcón con una máquina de bicicleta. 1.lack de salida de socket - esto es muy obvio en la zona de trabajo. Si necesito trabajar, necesito quitar el socket de luz y reemplazarlo con mi plug portátil. Así que tengo que trabajar en muy sombrío o para trabajar en la cama. 2. La altura de la salida de socket en la zona de trabajo es un poco fuera - tuve que ajustar la mesa en otra dirección para trabajar. 3. La altura del asiento en la zona de trabajo no es ideal - demasiado baja 4. El secador de pelo me está llevando loco - excepto mini tamaño, se detuvo cada otro min. N se volvería a empezar después de un par de mins de descanso. Aparte de lo mencionado anteriormente, estoy contento con el hotel. Cuando mencioné el tema del secador de pelo, los asistentes en la recepción fueron muy útiles - me dieron otro secador de pelo normal tamaño. Volvería.

Cleaning staff are by the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. Rooms are okay, if a little an old. Front desk staff don’t really interact much. Price is a little steep for what it is.

For the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough! The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead. I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall! The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later. The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables. The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.

Soy extranjero y vivo en este hotel por primera vez. El personal de Taiwán en la recepción es muy bueno. Las instalaciones internas del hotel son un poco viejas, pero muy limpias, completamente libres. Tengo una lavadora en mi habitación. Ahora el boda está bien. Lavadora pronto se seca, no necesita una secadora. Las carreteras fuera del hotel son más llenas y no hay paseos humanos, y hay que prestar atención a la seguridad cuando caminas.

Booked this hotel as my friend is also staying there, I was there only for a night and was given room 601. Once I open the room door I noticed a weird sourish smell. Room is definitely dated. The AC kept making weird noise, had to turn it to low and the noise level is more acceptable.  Other than that it appears to be clean. As I was staying for only 1 night and my friend is staying more nights, after I checked out, I went over to his room to store my perishables in the fridge as my flight is at 8pm. Once I stepped in, there was a strong sourish smell in the room which even the cleaning staff acknowledged that she smell it too. She sugggested opening the window to facilitate better air flow and if it still doesn’t work then maybe will use a air freshener. And then, the metal key didn’t work when I try to open the room door. The same lady assisted me and told me to turn the key left before turning the door knob right. But when I came back to the room, the key doesn’t work no matter if I turned it left or right. She took over and it opened, had to turn it left with more force 😬 Next, AC controller doesn’t work. She came back again and when she press it worked but she also said it’s tougher to press the button, she will change the batteries. After changing the batteries it’s still very tough to press the button, so she changed the controller instead. How eventful.  Won’t stay again if I can help it. Positive note though, the room wall paper doesn’t have the weird black barbwire pattern shows on the pics of trip.com, sorry I forgot to take pics.
