Das Ebertor - Hotel & Hostel

The location is so nice, just near to Boopard hbf. We like the room and the ambience.

We booked a stay for the night, but when we arrived at the hostel our beds weren’t available. The beds had been given away to other guests. After a long search they were able to find a single bed we could share. They apologised and said we could receive some money back. We never got this money back though. Terrible experience! Avoid this place if you want a relaxed evening to continue touring the next day.

I have stayed at this hotel before but i was disappointed this time,firstly you have to request for your room to be cleaned also the car park charge is 8 Euros the breakfast was ok,the room was comfortable.

The Hotel is not so good as it was last year,they only clean the room on request also you have to pay 8 Euros for parking,i don't know if i will bother to stay there again

I regretfully have to share my dreadful experience at this hotel. From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew I had made a terrible choice. The lobby was outdated and shabby, setting the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was a disaster. It was as if they hadn't been renovated in decades. The furnishings were worn and tattered, the carpet was stained, and the bathroom had a musty odor that wouldn't go away. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here, as I found hair in the sheets and mold in the corners. The staff were far from accommodating. They were indifferent to my complaints and seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than assisting guests. When I asked for help with my luggage, I was met with a half-hearted effort. The noise level in the hotel was intolerable. Thin walls and rowdy guests made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. It felt like I was sharing a room with the entire hotel. The breakfast they provided was an absolute joke. Stale pastries and watery coffee were the only options available. It was a disappointing start to each day of my stay. In summary, my stay at this hotel was a nigh**are. It was a grim reminder of how important it is to thoroughly research and read reviews before booking accommodation. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Positives: very clean, front desk staff was nice and helpful, location near the river promenade, close proximity to train station Negatives: no air conditioning in rooms which is typical for hotel in area but can get warm at night in summer (fan was provided). We didn’t have a good experience with checking in for breakfast but the breakfast itself was a good selection.

Rooms were okay, a bit smelly carpet. Good shower and a ventilator in the corner of the room. The terrace/garden was wonderful and with river-view. We didn’t use the breakfast since we had to travel early next day, just bought a fresh roll at the Spar bakery, about 3 min walk.

Nice Hotel only one gripe there’s no tea/coffee facilities in the room or complimentary water in the room you have to purchase them from bar.

Not 4 star, but comfortable beds, great shower. Everything sparkling clean. Good breakfast too. Definitely far better value than the very expensive hotels nearer the centre! Not too far from the old town and shops. Parking included which makes life much easier. Helpful staff, too.
