We were excited to stay at The Fredonia for the Old Town Rig Down. We were willing to pay a higher cost than all the hotels in the area, since we knew we would be a couple blocks away from everything. Hotel is cute, like a step back in time. Cute pool areas, but smaller than appear in pictures. We enjoyed all of that. What we were not prepared for - no parking. When we arrived, the lot appeared full. While I was checking in, I asked about parking and was informed there is no guaranteed parking for guests. And that is absolutely correct. We circled for quite a bit before we lucked out. Others were doing the same. Later in the evening, when downtown had cleared, there was ample parking. However - if I'm paying $250 a night, I think it is only fair to expect a parking spot at the hotel and not a block or more away. There were also issues with small sugar ants in our room the next morning. I tried calling the front desk with no answer and there was a line at the front counter, so I sent an email to give a heads up and spray. I'm assuming they received it since there was never a reply.

Fabuloso
BBob AHave stayed here before so we wanted to go back again. The front desk and other staff here are some of the best we have ever met. Clearly a good representative for Hampton Inn. Hallways are wide and bright. The room was very clean and large - we did have the King Suite, however. Breakfast is always iffy at a hotel, but the staff here have done much better than the industry norm. We will be back here again.

AafrescopThis place is a diamond in the rough. We have stayed here once before. The price for what you get is a bargain. Older, not fancy with outdoor access but room was spotless and comfy. The handicap shower head did not spray, more like a fire hose. Only minor complaint. Breakfast bar has the basics but is very sufficient for us. Highway noise could be a factor for light sleepers but not us.

We checked in for a one night stay with our family after hours of traveling on the road. Immediately upon entering the room we noticed that the bathroom had barely been cleaned (if at all). There was urine on the seat and by the toilet. We also noticed there were bugs in the lights behind the beds. On top of that, the AC was out in the building. We immediately decided to check out. I spoke with the gentlemen behind the desk and he informed that there was no manager on duty but someone would call and rectify the situation. I spoke with a manager a few days later and he assured me they would be approving our refund to the third party we booked with. A month later the third party said they did not get the authorization of the refund but that it could take 6-8 weeks for processing. Another month passes and no refund. I called and was told the hotel still had not authorized any refund. I then called the hotel and spoke with a manager who said she would have to check with her General Manager to see what is going on and to call back an hour later. I call back an hour later and she had left, so there was no one to talk to. At this point all I can do is share the frustration and inform any potential customers not to stay here.
