Roda Beach Resort & Spa

10 day all inclusive - generally we had a wonderful holiday thanks to the lovely weather, beautiful location and very picturesque views! We had a pool view room with mountains behind. We enjoyed the food most of the time and managed to book into all 3 restaurants as well as eating at the buffet. Our room, for just two of us was very spacious, cleaned daily and drinks restocked. We were looking forward to getting a message but we found the spa extremely overpriced, so we didn’t bother. We enjoyed a trip out to Parga/blue lagoon and we did the short walk along the beach into Roda - which was fine for us but may be difficult for those with mobility issues or small children and pushchairs. Regrettably, the major downfall of this hotel were the staff. Each time we approached reception with a question the staff were so blunt and dismissive. The lady on reception, whilst in the middle of checking us in, answered a phone call - she completely ignored us and left us stood there for several minutes. On one rainy morning my partner tried to make conversation with the gentleman on reception about the weather, he dismissed and snapped at him. We avoiding going back there until, half way through our stay, we returned to the room from a day by the pool, horrified to find hundreds of ants crawling all over our shoes, bags, dressing table, bed and anything on the floor. None of the phones worked in the room, so we had to walk back to reception. The gentleman didn’t even respond - he just pointed to the other staff member and turned away like he wasn’t remotely interested. The lady said they’d send a cleaner up at some point, shrugged and offered no idea when this would be. I have never experienced such appallingly customer service. The cleaner arrived shortly after, sprayed a load of ant spray and left, leaving now hundreds of dead ants all over our room, shoes and belongings. The buffet was a hit and miss experience, we enjoyed bits of the food and some staff were lovely and incredibly hard working doing extremely long hours. We went for breakfast every morning but only offered coffee twice. The queues were often long, not much variety day to day and trying to get a drink or basic service was near impossible. The hotel would be better to drop a star and allow people to get their own drinks and cutlery, the current system does not work. Other than the buffet there wasn’t much offered, crepes, ice cream and kebab meat from the bbq was about it. The shop is extremely expensive and we ended up spending a of lot money (despite being all inclusive) to buy cans of soft drinks as the drinks that the hotel offers were horrendous, cheap, flat and served in tiny paper cups. The wasps are also a big issue, you cannot eat or drink outside without them swarming around you - a heads up of this would have been nice as I have an allergy! Nice hotel! Great value! We enjoyed staying here. The pools, the food all the restaurants and the beach is on very good level. May be if they change the mattresses will make the rooms more comfortable. All the team look very good and helpful! Regards!

We arrived to what we thought a lovely place then was asked to pay tax which was €10 per night at a 5* rating so I refused as it was only a 4* on the booking and then was told there wasn’t a key for my safe in my room 962 do my belongings where not safe all holiday. The security man that took us to our room was lovely but after we entered that when things went wrong the room was dated and just not very nice. Bad points *no working air con *tv not working *no working hair dryer * pool gate broke which was a hazard as I had a young child * food in canteen was all the same every night * rude staff *no dressing gowns in room *mobility access very poor *not enough sunbeds for all guests * bar queues really long *restaurants really poor customer service turn u away even if you have booked. Good points * nice pools *pool side food was great *lovely beach *lovely weather in may People in our party even had things wrong fridge not working and no kettle in their room even tho they asked to be sorted. Would never go back!!!

The resort over all was nice and the views were stunning. Room was clean and comfortable and of a good size. We had a ground floor room with a patio with a view of the sea and the mountains in Albania. The rooms don’t come with an iron either, we brought one from home so advise everyone to do the same. The rooms were of 3-4 star quality rather than the hotels 5 star rating which I think is quite a stretch. The bar and entertainment teams were very friendly and attentive during our stay, Rado, Habi and Stefanos in particular. The food was of a decent quality but I believe it lacked the “5 star” level. The hotel I feel would be more appropriate for families as it can be hard at times to relax with kids running about day and night.

We had a lovely experience at the Roda beach and spa resort. The view was breathtaking. The food was alright, could have been better :) We went to the spa and the beautiful Christos was there who kindly helped us. He is definitely the best part of the spa!
