Hotel is just few steps away from bus stop to/from Hakodate Airport. 5min walk from tram station. There are two buildings - Main(hotel type room) and Premier(AirBnB type). Our room is just enough for two people. Clean but a bit old. They provided yukata to be used in their onsen. Yes, their onsen is free to use for hotel guests.
We also availed of their breakfast buffet, which has a variety of food - seafood, meat, sushi, etc.
Reception Staff are polite but could be more hospitable if they wear a smile when entertaining guests.
Overall, a pleasant stay in this hotel during our 5 day Hakodate excursion.

Very conveniently located along the route from the airport to the central Hakodate!! The ryokan is a beautiful traditional style ryokan with tatami mat and delicious kaiseki dinner. The place is very quiet and peaceful and there is onsen available. It is located near the beach if you want to take in some fresh sea breeze.

Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Al llegar al hotel, estaba emocionada. La habitación estaba impecable y elegí una de estilo japonés, lo que me hizo sentir muy cómoda.
El hotel está cerca de Noboribetsu Jigokudani y del pueblo de aguas termales, y hay tiendas a solo unos minutos a pie. Si tienes sed de leche después de un baño termal, recuerda comprarla en una tienda al llegar; el hotel no la vende. Compré un poco después de mi baño nocturno y tuve que devolver las últimas cajas.
El hotel incluye desayuno y cena buffet, y la comida estaba bastante bien. Había patas de cangrejo y sashimi, pero la selección de carnes era limitada, solo carne de res con grasa. Como fruta, había piñas y frutas variadas enlatadas.

La habitación está limpia e higiénica. El piso sur es más bajo pero muy tranquilo. Puede establecer el período de tiempo para limpiar la habitación todos los días. El transporte se encuentra a cierta distancia de la estación de metro y de la estación de Sapporo. Al lado hay una calle subterránea con varias instalaciones comerciales, lo cual es muy conveniente. Tuve un vuelo cancelado por la noche, ¡qué suerte haber reservado este hotel! Solo tuve que caminar unos minutos hasta el hotel justo después de devolver el equipaje, ¡incluso con el carrito de maletas hasta la puerta de la habitación!
Desayuné buffet en el restaurante del hotel, ¡qué bien! ¡Y el ascensor me llevó directamente a la sala de embarque! Las comodidades de la habitación son adecuadas; mi vuelo de regreso a casa fue cancelado y no tenía ropa de dormir limpia. Por suerte, tenían ropa de onsen cómoda que pude usar por la noche.

First time in sapporo and decided to booked this based off good reviews and appealing aesthetics. Definitely was a memorable experience with the onsens and unlimited ice creams, comfortable and clean room, and close to the major attractions in sapporo! Also had a familymart right outside the entrance/exit which was super convenient!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Shikanoyu! The room was spacious and comfortable, which made for a very relaxing experience. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with a wide variety of delicious options – definitely a highlight of the stay.
The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I also appreciated the large car park, which made parking hassle-free.
The only minor downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the main shopping and restaurant areas, so you’ll need to drive or plan ahead for meals and shopping. That said, the peaceful surroundings actually added to the relaxing atmosphere.
Overall, I really liked this hotel and would gladly stay here again!

UUsuario invitadoWe booked this hotel for a special stay for our Christmas Day abroad and it did not disappoint. The rooms are cozy, spacious and quiet with very comfy beds. We appreciated the entry way with the closet and shoe rack. We also appreciated the shower with great pressure, the large sink counter and the Japanese style toilet. There was also a good amount of toiletries provided. We had Japanese style pajamas, slippers for the room, sandals to go around the hotel in and even slippers specifically for the toilet area. The room has a large TV and you can connect to it with an HDMI cable or screencast but we could not figure out how to screencast. The hotel primarily caters to Japanese so the important stuff was in English but the little things like the remote control and temperature control were not.
We booked our stay with the buffet dinner and breakfast and for our stay it seems that all the greatest hits for Japanese cuisine were out. For dinner they had a steak grilling station, a BBQ scallop station, a sushi chef, crab dumplings and all kinds of accompaniments. For the dessert they had an array of tasty sweets but we enjoyed the macarons and Hokkaido ice cream the most. The breakfast was equally fantastic with a miso soup station, all kinds of sashimi, black pork dumplings, fried chicken and all kinds of crowd pleasers. There is a juice station and a coffee machine that makes all kinds of drinks so we were very pleased with the meals. We appreciated the plates and small dishes that allowed for small portions so we could pretty much try everything. Some items at the buffet did run out and these were specifically the small dishes - it is worth going early for breakfast and dinner because some items are not replenished and I found quite a few of these very delicious!
There isn't much around the hotel other than a 7-11 and a small botanical garden across the bridge but it is definitely a hotel meant to stay in and enjoy. We went to the onsen at night and in the morning and really enjoyed the outdoor bath which was sea facing. At night you could hear the waves and see the stars and during the day you could enjoy the beach and mountain view. The onsen baths have a variety of temperature pools and saunas and good bath products. There is a machine that dispenses a few pop flavours, cold tea and mineral water in the change room. There was a variety of self care products available in the change rooms as well like toothbrushes and razors.
Our room was very cozy after our bath and we found that the temperature for the hotel was possibly centrally controlled and not adjustable according to Google translation. It was set at a balmy 24 but we did figure out how to turn it off and got a comfortable night's rest. I wasn't a big fan of the hard toothbrushes that were provided mainly because the toothbrush used a coating rather than toothpaste which makes them truly single use.
The hotel offers quite a few amenities outside of the onsen area but the onsen was the highlight for us. They have a lounge area with lots of seats looking out to the sea near the front desk, a separate restaurant from the buffet restaurant, a souvenir shop that sells drinks too and luggage storage. We aren't sure if there are multiple floors with laundry machines but the one laundry room we did find only had one machine so this might not be a hotel to do your laundry at.
The hotel is easily accessible from both the train station and airport. From the train station you can take a bus or the tram which would take about 30 minutes and from the airport there are some dedicated busses that will take about 15 minutes. The bus station and tram station closest to the hotel is Yunokawa Onsen.
This was a great stay for us and we felt one night here was perfect. There is a lot to see in Hakodate and had we stayed longer we would have chosen a more economical option but this truly was a special treat for us.

YYi ShieanFrom the moment we arrived at Mizu no Uta, Tsuruga Resort at Lake Shikotsu, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil luxury. Valet parking greeted us, and we were swiftly escorted to a path lined with zen music, setting the tone for a stay where every detail exudes serenity.
Upon entering the reception, a majestic wooden carving of an owl, a powerful symbol of protection in Ainu culture, watched over us. In a delightful and intimate touch, we were asked to remove our shoes – a gesture that immediately made the resort feel like a sanctuary. Walking barefoot on soft wooden floors in such a refined environment felt like the ultimate indulgence.
Live harp music floated through the air as we were led past a live fireplace, its warm flames inviting guests to roast marshmallows, adding a whimsical, yet homely feel to the elegant surroundings. The staff, attentive yet discreet, escorted us to our room via separate lifts, ensuring our luggage was seamlessly handled.
Entering the room, we were struck by its sheer spaciousness. A half-sized fridge, thoughtfully included, perfectly stored all our chilled treats from the road trip. But the true star was the view: an uninterrupted panorama of lush greenery, stretching out to meet the serene waters of Lake Shikotsu. The combination of the stunning scenery and the luxurious in-room robe made us feel like chaebols, lounging in opulence and shielded from the cool lakeside breeze.
As for the dining, the buffet at Mizu no Uta is nothing short of spectacular. Where many buffets struggle to balance quantity and quality, this resort excels at both. Highlights included a live dessert station and a live pizza-making corner, where thin-crust pizzas, surprisingly better than those from Furano’s famed Cheese Factory, were expertly prepared. The spread also featured an incredible assortment of sashimi – the freshest I encountered during my 1.5-week trip across various hotels. The salmon and mackerel, both raw and uniquely marinated in glass jars, were exceptional.
The hot dishes maintained the same elevated standard. A simple tomato-based clam spaghetti was transformed by the quality of ingredients, while even the sautéed kailan was enhanced with the addition of Parma ham. Local produce, such as the fresh broccoli used in the cream-based dishes, lent an unmistakable brightness to each bite. The combination of Japanese and Western cuisine was balanced beautifully, with every plate delivering a sense of thoughtful craftsmanship.
Of course, no stay at a lakeside resort would be complete without a visit to the onsen bath. While slightly smaller than the one at Lake Akan, the onsen here is far superior in cleanliness and upkeep. Conveniently, the bath is stocked with towels, so there’s no need to carry your own from the room. The experience is further enhanced by a sauna illuminated with soothing blue light, adding a layer of tranquility to the ritual. The open-air onsen is another highlight.
For those who appreciate the purity of nature, the bath even features drinkable Lake Shikotsu water, renowned as one of Japan’s top 100 spring waters. This thoughtful touch, coupled with the stunning views, creates an immersive experience that is equal parts restorative and luxurious.

MM60738****Al registrarme en la recepción del hotel, conocí a un chico que hablaba chino, lo que hizo que la comunicación fuera más fluida. Sacó el folleto del hotel y el autobús turístico gratuito del hotel y, con paciencia y detalle, presentó las distintas instalaciones del hotel, los lugares de interés y las rutas y métodos de viaje del autobús turístico gratuito. El hotel es muy nuevo. Cerca del vestíbulo hay consigna de equipaje de autoservicio. La habitación está muy limpia (tenga cuidado de cambiarse los zapatos en la entrada antes de pisar la alfombra del interior). La pared de la base del segundo piso está pintada de forma bonita y presenta comidas y atracciones cercanas. El jabón de manos de la habitación huele un poco a ciprés de LELABO, y las manos huelen bien después de lavarlas.
Servicio: Vale la pena mencionar que la recepción del hotel ayudó a llamar y hacer reservas en restaurantes, ¡lo cual fue realmente genial!

Shampoo is near empty and no top up and look very uncalled for as a 5 star hotel.
No housekeeping for guest staying for 2 days.
Most of the staffs couldn't speak English and making communication very tough.

Located just a pleasant 20-minute drive from Otaru Station, the hotel is nestled in a tranquil, private area that feels like stepping into a captivating wonderland. I was delighted to discover a bus stop right across from the hotel, making it effortlessly convenient to explore the surroundings.
From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly by name, and they were incredibly helpful with our luggage. Taking off our shoes upon entering the hotel created a feeling of comfort and cleanliness that made us feel right at home. After a smooth check-in process, during which they confirmed our breakfast time, the staff graciously guided us through the hotel, sharing helpful information about opening hours for various amenities.
Our room was beautifully adorned in traditional Japanese style, complete with an open-air bath. Enjoying this serene experience during the winter was simply magical! We also savored a delectable Kaiseki dinner in our room, which was not only a feast for our taste buds but also left us delightfully satisfied.
The onsens were a real highlight, featuring an adjacent sauna. With daily alternating access for women and men every other day, we were able to enjoy both during our stay. Families will find this hotel exceptionally accommodating, thanks to its variety of playrooms and relaxation spaces catering to guests of all ages. Plus, the complimentary refreshments and bar in the lobby until 10 PM added a lovely touch to our experience.
Breakfast was a true delight, with a peaceful view of the snow outside the restaurant, enhancing the serene atmosphere.
On our departure day, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to take us to the JR station, making our exit seamless and convenient.
Looking back, our only regret is that we stayed just one night—I can't wait to return and immerse myself in a different season's beauty. This hotel is now firmly on my list for future visits, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure!

UUsuario anónimoBeautiful high end ryokan in the center of Noboribetsu. Our room was very large and spotless-it was the size of an apartment with multiple seating and eating areas! The best part was the in-room hot spring bath tub, which we booked and was worth every penny. We highly, highly recommend this! Had an absolutely relaxing stay at this top notch onsen! In the public areas, there were 5 different hot spring pools for the women and four for the men. Each had different temperature settings and different qualities. There were many at the ryokan but the pools were never crowded. It was peaceful and serene sitting outside in the pools.
There were many guests at the hotel as it was peak summer season, but the property was very large and spacious, beautifully decorated and laid out that it never felt crowded.
Excellent customer service and delicious kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast with a buffet table. Would go back for another visit if we are in the area again! Highly recommend this ryokan-you will not be disappointed!

CChoon SengNos gustaría extender nuestra más profunda apreciación a la Sra. Tamori Minatsu por su ayuda excepcional durante nuestra estancia reciente. Al llegar al hotel, descubrimos que habíamos dejado un bolso con una maleta, dinero y tarjetas en un restaurante en Kamikawa, a casi tres horas.
Nos acercamos a la Sra. Tamori para ayudarla. Ella escuchó atentamente para entender nuestra situación. Ella se encontró en el restaurante para confirmar que el bolso había sido encontrado. El día siguiente, ella fue arriba y más allá, ayudandonos a arreglar el bolso para ser entregado a nuestro hotel en Sapporo.
