Love this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Onsen is superb, nice view. The varieties of food for dinner and breakfast are good too

Hotel is just few steps away from bus stop to/from Hakodate Airport. 5min walk from tram station. There are two buildings - Main(hotel type room) and Premier(AirBnB type). Our room is just enough for two people. Clean but a bit old. They provided yukata to be used in their onsen. Yes, their onsen is free to use for hotel guests. We also availed of their breakfast buffet, which has a variety of food - seafood, meat, sushi, etc. Reception Staff are polite but could be more hospitable if they wear a smile when entertaining guests. Overall, a pleasant stay in this hotel during our 5 day Hakodate excursion.

Super stay at this traditional onsen inn! It’s an easy 5 minutes walk from the tram stop and it is a peaceful and hospitable place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights with breakfast included (you have it in your room, the staff come to roll up your tatami 30 mins before - we just went to the onsen during this time) which was traditional Japanese style and delicious. The onsens are not too big but there are outdoor and indoor sections and perfectly adequate. The staff look after you warmly and we loved our experience of traditional Japanese culture here. Oh, and it’s near the Botanical Gardens where we saw monkeys bathing in the onsen.

Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Al llegar al hotel, estaba emocionada. La habitación estaba impecable y elegí una de estilo japonés, lo que me hizo sentir muy cómoda. El hotel está cerca de Noboribetsu Jigokudani y del pueblo de aguas termales, y hay tiendas a solo unos minutos a pie. Si tienes sed de leche después de un baño termal, recuerda comprarla en una tienda al llegar; el hotel no la vende. Compré un poco después de mi baño nocturno y tuve que devolver las últimas cajas. El hotel incluye desayuno y cena buffet, y la comida estaba bastante bien. Había patas de cangrejo y sashimi, pero la selección de carnes era limitada, solo carne de res con grasa. Como fruta, había piñas y frutas variadas enlatadas.

This was my second stay at this onsen hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff were generally courteous and helpful, although the receptionist could have been more welcoming, as he did not greet guests with a smile. The facilities were well-maintained, and I particularly enjoyed the night lounge area, where guests could relax with mulled wine, coffee, and fresh grilled apples while enjoying a foot spa. The hotel was clean throughout, and the meals served were fresh and of good quality.

La habitación está limpia e higiénica. El piso sur es más bajo pero muy tranquilo. Puede establecer el período de tiempo para limpiar la habitación todos los días. El transporte se encuentra a cierta distancia de la estación de metro y de la estación de Sapporo. Al lado hay una calle subterránea con varias instalaciones comerciales, lo cual es muy conveniente. El desayuno era muy bueno.

We had a wonderful stay at Protom International Hokkaido, and it became one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The hotel kindly surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the Junior Twin Suite, and the room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were so happy when we entered the room — it felt bright, modern, and very relaxing, especially after a long day of travel. What touched us the most was the kindness of the hotel staff. Everyone was polite, warm, and always ready to help. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, not just as guests, but like friends. We are very grateful for the upgrade and the wonderful service. This stay made our Hokkaido trip even more special. We will definitely choose Protom International Hokkaido again next time. Have to say it’s a nice and beautiful hotel. Did not try to use the Onsen as I have a full back tattoo. They do offer some sticker patches for 250Yen but that is if your have small tattoo.  We checked in late around 8pm. We asked counter if they could arrange breakfast the next morning. They replied it’s full. When asked if the same reception if she can arranged dinner. Again she said it’s full. But when I walk over and ask the restaurant directly. They invited me in. Not a very good service coming from the reception lady who just said no without checking.  So unless you like Onsen. You can opt for other hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Shikanoyu! The room was spacious and comfortable, which made for a very relaxing experience. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with a wide variety of delicious options – definitely a highlight of the stay. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I also appreciated the large car park, which made parking hassle-free. The only minor downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the main shopping and restaurant areas, so you’ll need to drive or plan ahead for meals and shopping. That said, the peaceful surroundings actually added to the relaxing atmosphere. Overall, I really liked this hotel and would gladly stay here again!
