Great place, close to the bus and railwaystation, very kind staff. Shopping area, supermarkets nearby. I would recommend the hotel for both family and business trips. The room is cosy, food is excellent. A very nice hotel in the city center.

Estoy muy agradecido a los empleados de la clase y a toda su ayuda para conseguirme donde debí estar. Fueron arriba y más allá. Es un lugar excelente. No se arroja por la vista del edificio en Google. Es un lugar excelente. El hotel tiene un desayuno increíble y una cena en los días de semana. Me quedé 5 noches. Mi único consejo es - en invierno, no es caminable desde la Estación Central. Usted necesitará un taxi para llegar a la estación y de ella. Definitivamente me quedaría de nuevo.

Loved it. Receptionist went out of her way to accommodate me and made me feel very welcomed. Older building but nicely redecorated rooms and baths. I only missed sheer curtains to let light in but keeping privacy, and a dead bolt on the door. Someone with a key would always be able to enter and it would be too easy to break in as well. There is a simple lock function but it wouldn't keep anyone out. This combined with no need for room key in the elevator/accessing the stairs could be a disaster for a solo traveller. They really should fix that. Breakfast and breakfast service was awesome, great start of the day. Have already booked again with this hotel.

Hotel Galaxen is not alone in struggling with a mediocre construction from the 80s. The renovations have been carried out point by point, from economic and environmental considerations it is certainly wise. As a guest, you then have to live with a bit of edge-supported furniture, a stain here and there. However, the female staff at the reception happily deliver good service. The breakfast selection is large, but no special unique local touch in terms of bread and cold cuts. Holds a discounted rate from my membership, however what it seems to mean is that they put you in the smallest rooms available. Det allra mesta var bra under vår vistelse. Det som hindrar besöket från att generera högsta betyg är att maten på torsdag kväll 2025-02-06 inte var varm och att TV:n på rummet hade en irriterande fladdrande bild.

La habitación es muy agradable y el personal es muy amable y útil. La habitación es promedio, pero las camas son muy buenas. Un problema era que tenía mi habitación en el primer piso y hay un gimnasio en el sótano. La música y el sonido de los pesos que caen al piso llevan bien en el hotel, y esto comienza a principios de la mañana.

We found the front door closed when we arrived, but Magnus, one of the two owners, answered the phone promptly and arrived within minutes. The door seems to be kept locked when reception is closed, but you can enter 24/7 with a passcode. Magnus was extremely friendly and assigned us two single rooms on the third floor. The rooms were of reasonable size, recently renovated, clean and in good condition. The furniture was mostly from Ikea, which I guess is suitable for a Swedish hotel. The bed was narrow but comfortable, and there was a desk and a chair & coffee table. No safe. On the downside, the rooms were a bit on the cold side, and the curtains couldn’t really keep the light out too well. The bathrooms were small but clean and in good condition. There was a shower (both overhead as well as hand-held) with acceptable water pressure. Amenities included wall-mounted containers of soap, shampoo and conditioner. The toilet paper was cheap, thin and hard and would need an upgrade, or bring your own. Breakfast was included in the room rate. It was a buffet with basic Scandinavian hot and cold items and gave you a good start of the day. Breakfast was served 6:30–9:30 on weekdays and 8–10 on weekends. Additionally, complimentary coffee and cookies were available during the day. Parking was available on site for 75 SEK / 24 hours. The hotel has an excellent location in the pedestrian zone in the centre, close to several restaurants. At 103 € for a single room with breakfast, it was expensive for a three-star, but there’s little competition in town.

A dreary hotel at an extortionate price - normal for Mora apparently. It reminds me of Kilkenny in Ireland - a place which takes its tourist business for granted, exempting it from basic courtesies towards guests (not to mention any sign of investment over the last 30 years). Restaurant? Closed on Sundays … Sauna? Closed on Sundays … Swimming pool? Open … but too cold to swim in. Common area of the hotel? Closed at 20:00 … when all staff disappear. I felt relieved not to be locked in our room. Please do spare yourself and your family the experience of staying here. In fact, just avoid Mora if at all possible, there are many perfectly nice places in middle Sweden.
