This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

La habitación es muy grande y muchos de los diseños tecnológicos son exquisitos. El inodoro viene con un asiento de inodoro desechable, lo cual es una ventaja muy considerada. Normalmente lo traemos con nosotros en viajes de negocios, pero el clima retrasó el viaje y estábamos. No estoy completamente preparado. Esto me hizo muy feliz. Me gusta. También hay un cargador inalámbrico. Es muy conveniente y novedoso. También me gusta usar el cargador inalámbrico en casa. y atento y ayuda a resolver las necesidades lo antes posible. This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again. The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning. The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance. This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

Experiencia agradable. Check in real late at 1030pm and still managed to walk to a nearby night market for dinner. The rooms are clean and service staff very friendly and professional. Extra bed was already arranged when we arrived, which was fantastic.

Ventaja 1: Higiene 2: Transporte cómodo Desventaja 1: La chica de la recepción es un poco poco profesional. El día del check-in descubrí que no había hervidor de agua caliente en la habitación, llamé y ella respondió y dijo que me lo entregarían en un rato. Pero no hubo respuesta durante casi una hora. Así que llamé de nuevo y le pregunté por qué no lo habían entregado todavía. De hecho, me volvió a pedir el número de la habitación. Ya le dije que era 310 en la primera llamada... pero ella dijo: ”No hay habitación 310, ¡Debería ser 301!” Entonces, ¿los problemas reportados en la primera llamada telefónica no se registraron en absoluto? ¿La recepción ni siquiera sabe el número de habitación de su hotel? Después de un rato, vino el hermano pequeño y, para mi sorpresa, me dio agua embotellada. El chico dijo que en la recepción me dijeron que quería agua embotellada... lo que informé fue obviamente una bolsa de agua caliente... ¿cómo escuchó la chica de la recepción los comentarios dos veces? ¡Aún nos falta reforzar la formación! Desventaja 2: Este tipo de habitación con terraza en realidad tiene una capa de vidrio en el exterior, que no está ventilada, no hay mesas ni sillas en las fotos de la tienda ... Desventaja 3: Mal aislamiento acústico, se puede escuchar llorar a los niños de al lado y también se puede escuchar el canto del hermano mayor en el KTV cercano ...

Reservé dos habitaciones para tres días. La ubicación es súper buena. Está en el centro de Dongjiekou, a solo unos minutos a pie de Daming Food Street, Alley 3 y 7th Street. Está ocupado pero tranquilo, y la estación de metro es 150. A metros de distancia! La habitación no es grande pero sí cómoda, limpia y ordenada. Sería mejor si hubiera un refrigerador. El efecto de insonorización de la habitación es normal y escuché el llanto de un niño en la habitación de al lado en medio de la noche. La relación calidad-precio general es bastante buena.

The hotel is at a good location but not the hotel cos almost all the didi don’t come in to this alley and not aware of this hotel Hotel is very pretty and room is very nice There’s a free pickup from the train station which is very nice and plus point for the hotel However the staff needs more training in terms of their services and professionalism. Their standard is obviously not at the hotel’s level. When I reach on the first day, the young lady and gentleman that assist us with the check in is nice and friendly. However after that it’s always an older plump lady that is at the front desk during the day and her attitude doesn’t makes me comfortable. I was writing something to pass to her and she keep rush me to be faster and the way she talks makes me feels as if I’m at a market instead of hotel. And also the aunty that manned the laundry area. When I was washing my clothes around 3-4pm, she said I occupied both laundry pod and other ppl can’t wash it. I told her nicely that I will come and take out the cloth on time. I mean there’s so many ppl that leave their clothes in the laundry and dryer pod after clean and dried for hours or overnight. Doesn’t that occupied the pod as well and others cant use it? Then she still continues to nag and said me about using both pod. Once again I told her nicely the same statement. Then she continues again and keep repeating the same thing to me over and over again and I snap back at her only she stop. What’s wrong with her? There’s a saying 给你脸 你还蹬鼻子上脸了？以为我很好欺负吗？Please give more training to both of the staff so they don’t ruined the reputation of your hotel. And there’s a staff that told me to pay for the lost card. I misplaced a card before with other hotel and never been told to pay for it. They just simply void the card. It’s only 10-20 rmb which is not a lot tho but it really ruins my impression for this hotel. I mean this hotel is very pretty and I would love to stay there again if I’m visiting Lonyan again but with this kind of staff around, I will think twice before deciding my stay next time. I stayed Wanda and Fliport Hotel in Lonyan before and the price for these 3 hotels doesn’t difference much but their staff definitely handle customer with more professionalism and better attitude

Muy bueno, el diseño es muy bonito, la ubicación es muy atenta, tranquilo en el aire, ir a la gran agua y a la árbol de la gran agua durante 2 minutos, hay dos hermanas en la recepción, la gente es hermosa, muy entusiasta, y la comida que el pueblo trae a sí mismo, muy deliciosa, esta viaje a la guarida, reservar este pueblo realmente no se arrepienta de la opción, Los ancianos y los niños son muy amables, muy felices, muy satisfechos con el desayuno popular
