I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. The breakfast offered a good variety and tasted great. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Esta fue mi segunda estancia en este hotel. Aunque la ubicación es un poco alejada, no hay problema si vas en coche. Las habitaciones son estupendas; todas tienen vistas al mar, lo cual es una gran ventaja. Sugiero que el hotel añada algunas instalaciones a la zona de la piscina, porque el sol es demasiado fuerte y resulta muy incómodo. Además, hay muy pocas instalaciones para niños. Esta vez, la selección del desayuno me pareció limitada y el sabor había empeorado bastante 😢. Los niños tenían muchas ganas de desayunar, pero se llevaron una decepción.

I just stayed for one night. Which was enough for me. Be aware this is not part of the official Rainbow Resort Hotel. Upon seeing my confirmation, the receptionist told me my room was an Airbnb. The building is a hotel as well private rooms that are rented out. The room itself was very spacious, 70 sqm with one bedroom and a living space. It had obviously been repainted recently (it smelt a fresh paint) so the walls were clean. Air conditioning and basic amenities were provided. The building itself, has seen a lot of wear and tear. If you’re on a budget and want a spacious room it will meet your needs. For the price I think it’s quite reasonable if you’re there for a short stay. The hotel is next to a beach, and a swimming pool downstairs. There a few restaurants across the road.

El servicio es bueno y la piscina es muy divertida. El desayuno es excelente, con mucha sandía, y la yaca ya viene pelada; me comía un tazón grande cada vez. La relación calidad-precio es fantástica, y el yogur también es ilimitado. Sentarse afuera para tomar fotos es genial. La cama es muy cómoda, al igual que la ropa de cama y las almohadas. El aire acondicionado funciona perfectamente. Hay muchos mercados nocturnos alrededor, además de un McDonald's. En la playa hay muchos espectáculos y el atardecer es impresionante.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Disfruté mucho mi estancia en el SHO Hotel Penang. El hotel es limpio, moderno y está bien mantenido, con habitaciones amplias y cómodas tanto para estancias cortas como largas. Al ser un hotel recién inaugurado, las instalaciones están impecables y en excelentes condiciones, con todo lo necesario para una estancia confortable. El único inconveniente es la ubicación, que está bastante lejos de Georgetown, por lo que llegar a las principales atracciones y al centro de la ciudad puede llevar algo de tiempo. Aparte de eso, fue una estancia muy agradable y sin duda un hotel que vale la pena considerar si priorizas la limpieza, el espacio y las instalaciones modernas.

Hotel recién inaugurado (2025) en la zona de Tanjung Bungah. El hotel de enfrente cuenta con restaurante y tienda de conveniencia. Hay una playa en la parte trasera del hotel, accesible desde la zona de la piscina (se requiere ascensor hasta el primer piso). Habitación limpia y agradable durante nuestra estancia de dos noches.

La primera vez que fui a Penang, vi este hotel, es nuevo este año y es muy bonito por dentro, así que reservé una estancia. En cuanto entré en el vestíbulo y olí el aroma súper fragante, el personal fue muy amable y sonriente, enseguida encontraron a alguien para ayudar. La habitación es muy bonita, el baño es muy grande, la televisión tiene YouTube y Netflix, también nos enviaron un paquete de snacks y un spray para dormir, y en cada piso se puede rellenar el agua para beber. La vista general de la habitación es muy agradable. ¡Volveré a alojarme aquí la próxima vez que venga a Penang!

Our stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang was simply exceptional from start to finish. A special thank you for the wonderful room arrangement and the complimentary upgrade to a Sea View room. The view was truly breathtaking and easily one of the best we could have hoped for. I've always dreamed of experiencing a classic tropical resort vacation, especially in an era where many accommodations are moving towards the homestay concept. Rasa Sayang delivered exactly that dream. Waking up to the stunning resort grounds, the beautiful pool, and the sea beyond was an unforgettable experience. The breakfast deserves special recognition. It was, without doubt, one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. Beyond the impressive variety, almost everything we tried was delicious. Even after two mornings, we still couldn't sample everything on offer. The morning walks through the beautifully landscaped gardens in front of the Rasa Wing were another highlight. The lush greenery, immaculate landscaping, and tranquil atmosphere made for a truly relaxing start to each day. Service throughout our stay was excellent. Room service was prompt and professional, while both check-in and check-out were seamless and hassle-free. We understand why Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is often regarded as Penang's premier resort. Knowing its reputation is one thing, but experiencing it firsthand was on an entirely different level. We will definitely return again someday. And of course, if a complimentary stay ever comes our way, we certainly wouldn't say no! Thank you to the entire team for making our family vacation such a memorable one.

Fantastic hotel with top-tier service, though the location is average My friend and I stayed for one night in a Standard Room at the Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City. The hotel truly feels like a 5-star property, and the cleanliness, service, and amenities were all absolutely excellent. We were well taken care of by the attentive staff, and the facilities—like the outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre—were top-notch. The only minor downside was the location in Perai, which we felt was just average compared to staying directly on Penang Island. Overall, it is a great choice if you prioritize comfort and exceptional service!
