This is my favourite hotel. I stay here 2 to 3 times a year. Every time I stay 3 to 4 days in their legendary suites. It has the old school charm and the suites I particularly like are those facing the swimming pool. I go for a dip 3 to 4 times a day. Just relaxing there is enough. I'm not the average tourist that likes to hop around touristy sites every day. This time I was arranged to stay at the Charlie Chaplin suite which the General Manager promised me last time I visited a few months ago. This time, I also noticed some improvements to little details at the hotel. Near and around the hotel, there r new restaurants cropping up providing more choices of food. Overall, the trip was pleasant as usual 👍
Aloft Surabaya is still a relatively new hotel, and everything looks fresh and well maintained. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
On my first day of stay, I experienced an issue with the TV in my room. All TV channels were lagging heavily, with frozen images, and it took around 30 seconds just to switch between channels. I reported the issue, and it turned out that the problem was only affecting my room. Staff came twice to check what was wrong, but there was no solution, and I was unable to watch TV that entire night.
What I found disappointing was the lack of follow-up. Even though I called again, I was only told that it would be checked, with no further updates. On the second day, the TV channels suddenly worked normally again on their own, but there was no confirmation from the hotel to ask whether the issue had been resolved, nor was I offered an option to change rooms. This felt rather unprofessional.
That night, a fruit platter was delivered to my room, but there was no note explaining the purpose. I assumed it was a form of compensation for the inconvenience.
Despite this issue, I initially planned to stay for only two nights but ended up extending my stay for another four nights. The room itself was comfortable, and the location is excellent — the hotel is directly connected to Pakuwon City Mall, and Park Shanghai is also nearby, making it very easy to find food and dining options.
Breakfast was decent in terms of variety, though the taste was fairly standard. Overall, it was still a comfortable stay, with room for improvement in service follow-up and communication.
El hotel era grande: es un lugar limpio y estratégico (es un complejo de tiendas muy grande y moderno), el servicio es de primera calidad, especialmente durante el desayuno en el restaurante Djaman Doeloe. Uno de los empleados (Evi, creo) me preguntó qué era mi favorito que no tenían esa mañana. Le dije que me gustaba el tradicional ”crust”. La mañana siguiente, Pak Andik, el chef de pastelería, me trajo 3 crust, fresco de su cocina. Qué sorpresa. La torta era deliciosa, especialmente con café negro. Gracias, Pak Andik y Evi, por su hospitalidad. Volverá en un futuro próximo.

Westin Surabaya is a beautiful property with gorgeous views and amenities and impeccable service to match. The pool and surrounds are pleasant for swimming.
The Club room is very comfortable, quiet and feels fresh all round. The heavenly bed is such a delight to sleep in. The Club lounge is one of the most outstanding hotel lounges I have frequented. The views from the 39th floor are divine whether day or night. Service levels in the Club lounge are impeccable from each and every staff member.. so welcoming, professional with beautiful hospitality. Food selection, drinks and comfort all round. Nila and all of her lovely colleagues are truly at an inspiring level of excellence.
Pretty nice apartment set up , very convenience. It’s located across one of the biggest mall in Surabaya , can’t complaint.
One of the downside is they don’t offer slippers, the bathrooms have strong sewage smell , other than that it’s very nice.
Room Change at Midnight, Poor Sleep
I had to switch rooms at midnight because the air conditioning couldn't cool below 20°C. The technician couldn’t fix it and advised me to call the duty manager. I had an early flight and needed rest, but the room change took time, and I was disturbed again by a late-night call offering a towel. I finally slept around 12:30 AM and had to wake up at 5:15 AM. On the bright side, the porter kindly gave me a breakfast bag before my early checkout. Still, I’m reconsidering staying here again—might opt for a 4-star hotel with better comfort next time.
We came from Malaysia and stayed at Shangri-La Surabaya with our baby and family and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and always made sure we were comfortable. They treated our baby with so much care, even preparing a baby cot and warm water whenever needed.

Room is ok with warm and good water pressure.
They have western and local restaurant on site. The Western one was ok but the local restaurant is always a no and serve poor quality food, the warung can serve better Nasi goreng than in here. Some of the server in the local restaurant are lack of training.

Desde el principal lobby hasta los baños, desde las habitaciones hasta las plumas de animales - todo muy limpio, un gran descanso de alojamientos infectados con mosquito los días anteriores.
Los receptores fueron todos muy amables, bien versados en bahasa indo y en inglés; el conductor nos ayudó a encontrar algún lugar para comprar alimentos para los animales y tomar fotos en la entrada; el concierge también era muy proactivo y los limpiadores eran constantemente visto mobando.
La vista desde el balcón era de los animales que se desplazaban felizmente, no como algunos otros alojamientos safari donde los animales se mantienen en barriles demasiado pequeños o demasiado lejos. La comida de los animales también fue fácil de comprar desde el contador. Sólo lamentamos que no sabíamos que el desayuno con girafa necesitaba reservar previamente, pero honestamente puedes alimentar a los giraffes para La habitación es muy agradable, pero no es muy fácil. Sólo tienes que preguntar al concierto.

Opposite was KFC and some local eatery so quite convenience for anytime need. We most of time using Grab hauling service when go out and come back. Satisfy to the stay. Thank you.

PPolka13This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste.
The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget.
I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution.
But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby.
I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.
OOumou :)Batu has been one of my favorite destinations in Indonesia and this is mainly thanks to this hotel. The place was magnificent, the breakfast incredible but more than that all the staff were super nice and welcoming the servers, the cooks, the security, the room staff and the reception staff!!!

YYebethThis is my first time staying in Dialoog hotel. The view is so amazing.. you will love it.. Most of the staffs are humble and caring. In general I enjoy staying in Dialoog. I recommend adding more variety food to the breakfast menu.
